After revealing that one of our members, Simon March, walked away with the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) crown, we’re also delighted to announce that Geoff Pryor has emerged triumphant in the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game.

Geoff’s team, “Right Doesn’t Know”, finished 30 points ahead of his nearest challenger and wins him a cool £30,000 for a season’s work. As evidenced by his performances in the Sun Dream Team game last season, when he finished fifth overall, Geoff clearly is something of an all-round Fantasy Football expert.

Fantasy Football Scout supplied three of the top five managers for the Sky game. Katie Burgin took fourth spot on 2440 points, whilst John Eaton finished in fifth on 2432 points. Katie and John earn £1,000 and £500 from Sky for their performances.

Thanks to their endeavours, we successfully defended our crown in the “League of Leagues”, which comes with a £2,500 prize – the top five managers in the FFScout league will receive £500 apiece as a reward.

Our FFS Contributors and Moderators league will be hoping to challenge for the title next year after finishing tenth this time out, with our resident Sky expert Disable and myself earning a place in the top 100 overall.

Look out for an interview with Geoff later in the week as he discusses his successful campaign.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Not quote as good as hearing 40,000 fans singing "Oh, Bobby Zamora" to the White Stripes but fair play to Norwich.

Norwich could be great for FPL. Almost all of them have Prem experience but will still be nice and cheap. Looking forward to Bradley Johnson being my 4.5 mid all year again.

Trippier and Cresswell had a ton of assists in the Championship too though.

Ruddy should be a good rotation keeper.

At the start of the season it can be a gamble anyway, if the teams form isn't good enough then having what should be theoretically a decent fantasy asset depreciates in value because they just can't do much.

          Whoa!

In 3 years playing I think I've managed to win one Cup game total...
          FPL & FFS included.

In the end, I just gave up looking at them bc I *hate* that nagging voice that makes me second guess my transfer based on what the other guy's team looked like.

Anyway, looks like you had a pretty great season regardless, so congrats Pep!

Good advice Trigger, just discovered the Gargamel link - v useful. I got 23 measly points from my 15 autosubs. March got 48 from 11 subs. I reckon you would finish top 50 if you'd move away from the mean defence. March got 4 points more per week from his defence plus 20 more points from keeper giving roughly an extra 160 points overall.

it always makes me chuckle that people criticize you and your blog, yet one look at your history tells us that you know what you are doing.

This is bookmarked for next season as I have the aim of cracking the top 1k.

The wildcard is the big one, to me there is no right or wrong time to use it. It should be used when needed (if you have a lot of injuries or dead wood) or for a DGW like GW34 this time to help gain an advantage. My GW34 wildcard propelled me about 40k in one GW

5.0 and 4.5 I reckon. Myhill should hopefully not be as highly priced as he's still 2nd choice. It just so happens that 1st choice is injured

a lot depends on who Pulis buys as Lescott is a terrible LB

I'm actually happy I didn't buy Tadic in the end.

In GW6 I decided that I would make no transfers in GW7 and then I'd get Tadic and Baines (true story). In the end I didn't do that because Tadic rose in price if I recall and I ended up doing PvA to Duff instead.

Obviously I missed out on a big haul but I got Pelle and Baines the week after. Don't think Tadic did much after GW8 and I would have been stuck with him. Missed out on a big haul but longer term I think it was okay.

Slightly annoying at the time that a transfer I'd planned 2 GWs ahead ended up like that though!

Its crazy, they were desperate to win that 10th Champions League trophy for over a decade and spent hundreds of millions failing then Ancelotti delivers it in his first season. A year later he's sacked for finishing second and getting to the semi final when no team has retained it for 25 years.

Yes, well done to Geoff. Won it by some margin too.

The Sky Sports game is quite a mission, with midweek captain transfers and needing to get your head round the fixture list. I managed 24th this season, which came as a big surprise to me, as it needs full-on commitment (much more than I can give to fantasy football), so congrats to him. Fantastic prize too… £30,000. He can almost retire on that!

5 or 5.5 imo. He's too notable to be 4.5.

Norwich mids won't all be 5.0 or more. More likely that Redmond or Johnny Howson is the 4.5 guy than the much better known Wes Hoolahan or 15 goal scorer Bradley Johnson

He'll be with the U21's but back with Norwich soon enough.

I have good memories of him two years ago in my FPL team 😀

Redmond @ 5.0 would be tempting

Rather Norwich went up IMO. Middleborough no where near there quality. Would make it easier for us to bounce straight back

Redmond wasn't that good for FPL two years ago. I think he had one great week and then didn't do anything for 10 weeks after that.

He was only 19 and new to the PL, he is improving all the time and has some PL experience behind him

Good enabler though for all these mids that will cost an arm and a leg if he is 5m.

I might avoid looks like a potential headache to me . I'd probably start playing him ahead of one of my premium milfs if he showed form and had an easy fixture .

Be fair, he was only just 19 then and making the step up from his hometown club Birmingham.

Norwich's squad is basically the same as last season. They need to improve it substantially if they want to stay up.

Whittaker and Martin will get found out in PL, expect them to be out. Could also do with another fast L/RM and competition for Jerome and they'll stay up.

I read quite a few comments on here they wanted Boro for promotion because of their defence. Oh dear.

They are a very defensive team very much in the mould of Burnley, Hull and West Brom under Pulis. Doesn't mean they can defend though

Yeah I know, one game at time etc. just thought it was really weird how their defence was being highlighted so quickly.

So was Burnley's before last season. Could be a good defensive team if they do well at the start of the season and no longer have the onus to attack later in the season.

That is, of course, if they even win today 🙂

Budget defenders who offer chances of clean sheets are a rare commodity, why not highlight that fact?
