We delve into the data this evening in our first members article of the week. Watford, Man City and Everton’s strikers arrive under analysis, whilst we also assess United and Newcastle’s attacks before casting an eye over a couple of defensive differentials from City and Liverpool.

Hey Gang. Are the scoutcasts still being posted on FFS to listen to?

I know we can watch it on youtube. But i would rather listen to the podcast than watching it while driving is all.

    Cheers.

Yeh I was asking similar question last week. think the reason it didn't get posted was because they had technical difficulties...not sure though.

PS - I listen whilst driving in on a Friday. Great way to kick off the weekend!

Fair enough. Thanks for that FFB.

It does help to steam the kettle doesn't it? With all the podcasts about these days it would be nice if they could at least space them out for each day of the week. Would make the morning drive much better.

Call me mad but I am thinking about benching Sanchez this week. He always struggles when Giroud plays and Spurs look tight at the back. Would bring Payet back into my team at home against leaky Everton...

This is also my initial thought. Glad to see an Arsenal fan thinking the same. Not my Spurs blinkers that is swaying me this way.

Am I right in thinking he also goes missing in big games?

hmmm I haven't really seen much evidence of that - always steps it up at big international games.

Not that I would call playing Spurs a big game 😉 hehe (laughs nervously at prospect of losing to you!)

I dont make any claims of Spurs being a big club to be honest. But the NLD certainly is a big game.

Wont bench sanchez but i agree his points slightly decrease when giroud plays

Its the opposite for Ozil though. Ozil Giroud combo seems to work pretty good for arsenal

Personally im reluctant. but if Ozil keeps his form up and Sanchez isnt gettiing the points id be tempted.

if both are producing i fancy a double up . have to sacrifice someone like Payet from the template mid ifor me to get ozil though

Ohhh, Manchester Unite, they've gone seven hours of football in all competitions without conceding a goal. Yet also just ended a run (vs CSKA) of 404 minutes in all competitions without a goal, they've also created the third least amount of chances in the PL.

Talk about dull affairs eh 😉

Does it auto-sub a defender? Does it still count as using your chip?

What are peoples thought on a Bony (c) this week.

I brought him in last week to play against Norwich and Villa before Kun return so I might as well right?

Other options are KDB, Pelle, Vardy, Mahrez

    1. Burning Plastic

Good choice although I don't know if the new manager will hunker down like Norwich; I am going for Vardy simply because I want him to keep scoring. Also, in case of a penalty, Vardy may take it over Mahrez.

I did the same thing Jape. I'm going to captain him this week.

Got plenty of opportunities last week, this week should be no different. Will probably have sterling next to him again and they seem to link up well together. Man City played well today and apart from norwich have been scoring plenty of goals against opponents. Plus Bony's low ownership could help for making a move up the ranks.

Hi I am newbie to FPL and this community, currently ranked 630k and wasted a bit of WC at GW9 which brings this poor defence line. Now desperately need advice:

    Begovic
    Dawson Gabriel Toby
    Mahrez Mane Sanchez KDB
    Vardy Lukaku Pelle

    Bench: Hennessy Payet Davies Souare

Quite a few options in that range, but Moreno's my pick for the long term.

What's your total PB (bench) score this season?

Mine's 36 in 11 weeks. That's less than a point per bench player per week - looks like I've been playing with no squad to speak of!

Do you think the PB/Total ratio might be a good indicator to track to learn about your strengths and style?

My point is it doesn't mean anything, certain players are with rotation risk, not nailed or not even a starter. I'd say It is very difficult to judge based on PB.

            • 11 Years

I agree. Depends on what you're trying to learn while being aware of hindsight bias.
Esp for those who like playing with strong defenses, or 8 attackers.

Assuming you have a nailed on bench:

If PB/Total says you're benching too many points compared to starting 11 - you might want to rethink how you set your team structure.

If PB/Total says you're making the right calls on rotations more often than not, continue regardless of others' opinions on team structure.

Atleast that's the way I see it.

I don't think I can afford all starters on my bench with a decent first XI. And that also depends on individual, certain people like rotation but some don't. Those who likes rotation, will definitely have a higher potential to get more PB.

Doesn't mean too much unless all 4 benchies are starters. You could easily get 36 just from a 2nd GK.

True, Saylor and McCarthy for me.

But if combined with looking at how many Autosubs you needed, could be a good indicator to learn how good you're at rotating across the board.

Ighalo's goal to game ratio for Watford is fantastic. Huge reason why I had faith in him early on. Not benching anymore 😉

Morning dzzzz, been making a bad decision with every passing gw..have 2FT and 0m

    begovic --- henessey
janmaat cedric moreno -- souare davies
sanchez yaya kdb mahrez --- mane
    martial pelle vardy

    A: martial + janmaat >> lukaku + nyom
B: martial + davies >> lukaku + simpson (nailed on?)...gets rid of a non starter (davies)
C: davies >> nyom, play AoA, bench cedric, keep martial and carry over FT
D: martial >> ighalo, then bench ighalo and carry over FT

Ighalo is a a great enabler and an easier benching problem. On a the other hand, lukaku is a buy and hold strategy. will play AoA this gw, then will downgrade yaya/kdb to fund Kun by gw14

Think you need to pick between Ighalo and Lukaku first. T
The other FT if needed would probably be an enabler, else roll FT.

My bias - I sold Ighalo->Lukaku last week.

Pretty standard team, which isn't bad. Goalkeeper probably needs an upgrade soon

Defense. Kolarov Nyom Janmaat VVD Souare

    Thinking souare to Rojo

Thoughts? Too much money in the back? Im used to having 2 heavy hitters and 3 cheapies but not doing good in the back. Have 2.2 itb which im saving for Kun 1 transfer

      1st overall = 63%
2nd overall = 29%, should be miles in front.

I am only 38 points behind to break 100K and 81 points behind to breach 10K....10K looks like a decent target to achieve before March..
