Vincent Kompany lasts less than 10 minutes before limping out of City’s win over Sunderland. Palace are set to be without Yannick Bolas and Connor Wickham for up to a month, West Ham have worries over both full-backs, whilst Jamie Vardy played through illness during Leicester’s loss at Liverpool. Here’s our catch up with the casualties currently worrying Premier League and Fantasy Football managers alike.

Aston Villa
Carlos Sanchez is an early doubt for Villa’s trip to Norwich tomorrow after being forced off with a foot injury during the weekend draw against West Ham.

Chelsea
Eden Hazard returned to contention with a brief 15-minute run-out at the end of Chelsea’s home draw against Watford. Guus Hiddink went on to say:

“[Eden] Hazard came back in the last week and had two training sessions and we hope he can be fully fit”.

Unconfirmed reports, however, suggest Hazard left Stamford Bridge limping after the 2-2 draw.

Crystal Palace
Alan Pardew has been dealt a bitter blow in the final third after revealing that Yannick Bolasie and Connor Wickham are set to be sidelined for up to four weeks.

Patrick Bamford is a doubt to face Swansea tomorrow, whilst Pardew played down knocks to both Scott Dann and Damien Delaney:

“I didn’t have an option to substitute them, they were fine, they are a couple of warriors. They played well today, it was a very difficult game, tactically, physically, mentally. We need to rest now before our next game on Monday.”

Leicester
Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy were withdrawn during yesterday’s loss at Liverpool due to fatigue, Claudio Ranieri has confirmed. The Foxes boss also revealed that Vardy played through illness at Anfield:

“I hope we can recover. Now it is important we recover physically but more mentally. We have another big match coming up, another big challenge. Both were tired and Vardy played with a fever and I didn’t want to give him more minutes. I wanted to preserve him.”

Liverpool
Divock Origi started up front in the Reds’ win over Leicester but was subbed off before the break due to a hamstring problem, according to Jurgen Klopp:

“They spoke about a little cramp. We will see. I hope it’s not too serious. We have the next game in three days and six days the next, nine days the next – I hope he can play in one of these games.”

Daniel Sturridge has declared himself fit for the midweek trip to Sunderland, whilst Jordan Ibe is a doubt after missing out through illness yesterday.

Man City
City have concerns over Vincent Kompany yet again after he emerged from the bench against Sunderland only to limp off within 10 minutes. Post-match, Manuel Pellegrini conceded his captain has suffered a recurrence of his calf injury:

“It is not the best news for Vincent. He was ready to return – I didn’t want him to play the whole game because we have to play so many games. He worked the whole week with normality and it is difficult to see what happened. We will see tomorrow with the doctor’s report. It is the same injury – his calf.”

The Chilean also went on to issue an update on Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Fernando ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Leicester:

“Kun was on the bench in case we needed him in the second half. In three days, we have a difficult game at Leicester and then 10 games in January. He had a small problem so it was better for him not to take any risks. We were winning 3-0 in the first half so it was better for him to rest. He will be 100% on Tuesday. Zabaleta and Fernando worked over the last two or three days but although they are fit, they are not ready. Against Watford, both of them will be in the squad.”

Southampton
Ronald Koeman has revealed that both Graziano Pelle and Cedric Soares will remain on the sidelines with the injuries that caused both to miss last night’s home win over Arsenal:

“Both players will be out for Monday. They need more time and we have to see how long everything takes until they are back to full training. Graziano is struggling for a few weeks now with his knee. We had a plan to give him some days off doing treatment and no training.”

Stoke
Mark Hughes has confirmed Sheridan Shaqiri “will be ok” after the Swiss international was withdrawn against United yesterday. Glenn Whelan (calf) is a doubt, whilst Hughes is “hopeful” on Geoff Cameron, who was subbed off with a recurrence of a hamstring problem.

Tottenham
Mousa Dembele is doubtful for Spurs’ clash with Watford, according to Mauricio Pochettino:

“It’s a knock on the same ankle but we hope it’s not a big issue. We’ll assess tomorrow and see if he is ready for Monday.”

West Ham
Slaven Bilic is sweating over the fitness of both James Tomkins and Aaron Cresswell after the full-back pair were forced off during the Hammers’ draw at Villa:

“It’s very frustrating to have both full-backs out of the game [during the course of it]. With Tomkins it’s a situation that long-term it’s nothing serious but his eye is shut and the problem is the game is in a couple of days time. Cresswell, he felt some tightness and it was a precaution [to take him off]. We have to wait until tomorrow.”

Got the following team ready to go but thinking of making a couple of changes... Thoughts greatly appreciated:

    Cech

    Walker
    Bellerin
    Clyne

    Barkley
    Ozil
    Mahrez
    Alli

    Lukaku
    Kane
    Vardy

    Bench
    Butland
    Cresswell
    Kolarov
    Arnautovic

Thinking of the following tranfers (2FT 1.4m ITB)

    Bellerin > Dann
    Barkley > Ramsey

    Any better alternatives?

    Cheers

If Mesut gets rested who will play instad of him and would they line up?

To me him getting rested looks highly unlikely despite those AW quotes

I think Wenger will take the risk in order to win, just like he did with Sanchez.

Ramsey in the hole, maybe Iwobi will play? There isn't a lot of options in that midfield which means him being rested looks less likely.

Wenger is known to do crazy things at times. especially true with them playing Bour, might be thinking its a good opportunity to rest. could it be...

      Flamini, Ramsey
      Ox, walcott, Gibbs
      Giroud

looks slightly odd though with it written

Crazy to sell Barkley? I've had a great run with him and picked up a fair few of his mammoth hauls.

But just wondering if now is the time to sell up (for Ramsey) with fixtures toughening and Barkleys attacking threat somewhat diminshed by the dynamics of the team without McCarthy in the team. Not to mention Arsenals next two juicy fixtures.

A while back, fans of United and Arsenal were often bickering over who was better, Cleverly or Wilshire. Henderson would occasionally pop up as an alternative, but those voices were mocked.

So a few years later, who is the better player?

    B Wilshire

It was generally about the best young English midfielder at the time. It was often said that those two were the only two worth consideration, but some didn't agree. I hope that clears it up.

So at the time, assuming that was a time when Cleverley looked like going further and Wilshere was fitter and playing football more often. Seeing as neither have been true for a while, was this a few years ago? In that case Wilshere probably was the right answer. Things have changed rather significantly since.

      Evening all

I have 2 FT yet can't see past getting Hennesey in for McCarthy

Anything I'm missing ? Any good ideas for how to spunk my FT's up the wall ??

      McCarthy / Butland
      Kolarov / Dawson / Toby / Ward / Moreno
      KDB / Ozil / Rambo / Marhez / Coutinho
      Vardy / Kane / Lukaku

I'm thinking about the same transfer. Kolarov might be rotated with Clichy and I'm not sure if Vardy will start. Otherwise you have a nice team and you can easily save one FT 🙂

Maybe ship Kolarov now - too expensive to be rotation fodder.

Definitely being rotated tomorrow and City can't keep clean sheets without Kompany.

Alli likely to get rested tomorrow? Either him or Mahrez on the bench for me.

Walcott or Ramsey? This is the question!

I went for Aaron. Much more involved and will get more baps. Bit like Yaya.

Comparison tool is a good start.
Walcott is more of a differential.

        Replied to your WB question.

Walcott for me. Can play in 3 positions. Ramsey really only 1 IMO. Walcott has a higher points ceiling as well.

              It is a hunch.

Well Ramsey has played on the wing since forever. So he's now in a second position.

Also Ramsey has no competition until cazorla is bac

Until Caz is back he won't be playing anywhere else so that's his position until then (1 position). That was my point but thanks for confirming it.

Walcott has a higher points ceiling and can be played in 3 positions higher up the pitch.

What does the number of positions thing have to do with it? Ramsey is playing in his best position...

Im stuck with a template not moving up any places.

            Howard
            Bellerin Toby Shawcross
            Ozil Mahrez Delo KDB
            Vardy Lukaku Giroud

            Guzan Wanyama Targett Huth

            6.8m ITB 2FT

Anyone have suggestions of some differentials ? I have loads of money to work with as you can see
