Two of the league’s top-five attacks duke it out at Goodison Park, as Everton play host to a buoyant Tottenham Hotspur outfit. Despite ranking third for goals scored (35) this term, the Toffees are without a win in three home ties. Spurs, meanwhile, haven’t lost on their travels since the opening Gameweek.

Aside from notching the second-most goals (seven) across the last four Gameweeks, Everton ranked third for attempts (63), joint-second for shots inside the box (42), top for big chances (12) and joint-third for key passes (44), highlighting their dominance in the final third. Nonetheless, they also charted second for goals conceded (eight) and joint-fifth for big chances surrendered (nine), exposing their lack of defensive resolve.

As for the Lilywhites, they accrued more goals (eight) and shots on target (26) than any other side over the last four Gameweeks, so they’ll be relishing the opportunity to face off against an Everton rearguard that places top for home goals conceded (19). At the other end of the pitch, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have conceded just three goals and big chances since Gameweek 16. Furthermore, only Crystal Palace have conceded fewer goals in road ties (seven) than Tottenham (eight) this term.

Nothing worse than having points on the bench. Benched Toby and played VVD instead was a poor call in the end.
