Just thinking out loud here. A lot have mentioned that a negative in regards to a GW33 WC for a GW34 bench boost will be blanks in GW35 for the FA Cup Semi Finalists and their opponents in GW35.

But since the next round of the FA Cup is going to be played over the coming weekend, we will know when we WC which teams will/won't have blanks right? So we could plan accordingly on a GW33 WC?

We can plan, but the semis will involve big teams, so you are going to have to go without some big names if you want to go down that road.

Personally, I'm not sacrificing big players on form just because they don't have a DGW. Might go with something like 9 or 10 DGW players, mixed with good players on form, with BB in play.

Yeah. But my point is that we could plan for it. So say plan to have 3-4 "big" players on your WC and for GW34 and then bench them the following week.

And yeah I agree with your second paragraph. I'll try and go with DGW players + keep my current inform players and ensure I don't have more than 5 players that have a GW35 blank

You are right Nick.. it all depends when you want to use BB and TC.. WC for BB gw34 or WC for BB gw37. I would say use TC when you have best captain choice, fixtures.

The picture should be clear enough by 33. Should be able to get (BB) 15 DGW in 34, 11 out in 35 and probably 10 DGW players out in 37 (TC).
      The future is bright.

Yes we should be able to plan with full knowledge our way to having maximum players 34 and still get 11 players out 35 by focusing on players who have a double followed by a game and carrying 2fts into 35 to makethe final necessary changes

Indeed, I have 2 x Arsenal players but can afford to bench them whilst still rolling my FT this week and field a full 11.
A lot of my ML rivals would have 6+ players with a blank this week if Arsenal win.
      Come on your Gooners!

Gw34 doubles: teams currently in the FA cup, and their opponents from GW30 blanks

Gw35 blanks: teams who progress in the FA cup, and their opponents

GW37 doubles: Teams who progressed in the FA Cup, and their opponents from GW35 blanks

What this tells me is there is a lot of overlap between doubles and blanks...Good luck trying to bench boost for GW34 and still field 11 in GW35... And if you manage that... God help you in GW37!

Surely the whole wildcard in GW33 is deeply flawed for this reason?

You can ride 34 and 35 quite well without a wildcard - just not to the extent you can bench boost. It would be 7-8 DGWs and some Leicester players etc.

Then wildcard and bench boost for 37

I'm in this boat. Its easier to get 11 out for 34. Plus, Lei and Tot have tasty fixtures for 34.

      Keep them for 35. WC 36, BB 37 😉

there's the issue of timing though - surely only the top 4-6 and the bottom 3-4 will have anything to play for.. might also lead to rotation/reserves getting a run for teams that are safe

We will know for sure soon but I find it unlikely I will choose that route. I may take a couple of hits between now and 34.

-8 should be plenty to ensure a very good setup.

Teams knocked out in quarter final will probably have a double and then a blank (except west ham / man u)

Some teams with games cancelled because opponents have quarter final will probably have a double and then a blank

City and newcastle should have a double and then a blank

Should be plenty to choose from

The tough one is 37 as only liverpool and everton could have dgw34, sgw35, dgw37 - 3 from each of these me thinks

The best strategy is to have the best players for any given GW, regardless if they play twice or not. I personally wouldn't advise fielding a whole team of DGWers just for the sake of it and neglect a SGW who could outscore them in one game and then going forward you might be left with players you don't want and any gains made you lose.

It is very likely Everton won't play GW35 as it only needs one of them or Palace to progress in the FA Cup. So that would leave three games to rearrange in 2 DGW slots. So I have also been wondering about TC for Lukaku if there was to be a triple gameweek. How would that be done - early Saturday kick-off followed by Monday and then Wednesday?

      1. Pasqualinho
        • 16 Years
        9 years, 9 months ago

If Palace progress, Everton don't - then it's still possible for Everton to play GW35. Arsenal's progress to the Cup Semis will mean their game with Sunderland will be postponed - so now that Everton & Sunderland have a blank GW 35 they can use this date for their rescheduled GW30 match.

    Afternoon gents -
got this team for gw 30 with no transfers, seems strange banking a FT this week but good planning has led to this -

    Hart (Mccarthy)
    Simpson VVD Wimmer Wollscheid
    Mahrez Sigurdsson Alli (Payet Ozil)
    Vardy Aguero Kane

Assuming arsenal win tomorrow of course

His passing is poor. One of the main reasons for Liverpool's inconsistency.

Still scoring the most amount of goals in the league in the last 10.

              Just saying.

I know that. But he has been unbelievably lucky. As have his owners.

And I have been watching Liverpool.

What teams players do I need to get in and which do I need to lose in terms of DGWs and blanks post GW30?!

I have 2FTs and a fine team as it stands, so some preperation would indeed come in handy.
    Thanks

Good to see the FFS scaremongering amounted to nothing.

I hope none of you bought into any of it. Particularly SIlva being rested

BlueMoon forums say Silva will be rested this GW for the CL match 😉

BlueMoon forums said Silva would be rested from the Villa match, but he wasn't.

Many in DGW 37 will be a rotation risk, more nailed on in DGW 34 to play twice

Yep, I think GW36 is very late for a WC too, but I suppose it depends somewhat on which games will be played in which GW.

I'd much rather WC for DGW34 as it gives a wider pool of players to cover for the blanks the following week.

All 15 nailed on DGW starters will give enough cover for the blank GW, bench headache to follow but FTs will sort it out by GW37

By DGW 37 - 3 already down, Leicester champions and but of a bun fight to avoid Europa and nobody playing for anything except all the reserves having a run out

Quick question. If Ars beat Hull tomorrow, they have their match at he weekend postponed for FA cup next round?

That seems unbelievably short notice for fans!

It does doesn't it, not just that but in the next round of FA cup, the winner is at home so Watford fans won't know if they have the short journey to Emirates or all the way to Hull!

Five outfield players blank this week, what's an acceptable hit to get full XI? Have Ozil as well who could blank.

Will you then be forced into hits for the probable GW34 double game players or have a WC to play?

I thought I wanted 11 out for this week but having made the transfers which cost me points over two GWs I'm sure I'll lose out whatever they do this week.

We really should leave it to Balders, Diva and Perch.
