ICC World T20 Fantasy – Phase 3

The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

        Yeah, it's bad enough missing your two spinners through illegal actions but now your best batsman, what a huge loss.

          Sad as a Bangladeshi fan to be honest. We are quite wind up already about missing Taskin. Players are quite off-form at this moment and missing the Strike bowler is a huge blow. Hoping Mustafizur to do his job today.

    Right, I think know that Aus are batting second, there is a bigger chance that Maxwell doesn't bat. Therefore, in comes Shakib. Hopefully, that will prove to be a good differential.

      He won't bowl much though. Bowls the odd 1 over. May go for 9+. So will be a -5 on your cards.

            Yes I am. He got a wicket. But his bowling isn't ever considered to be an option for us. We use him just for the one or two overs when the other bowlers are failing.

      I've just go for Rahman as short of funds for Shakib.

      I would personally chose Khawaja ahead of him (already an owner) but I agree with your points.

      Bats high up enough to have time at the crease and will probably get a couple of overs, possibly more if one of the new bowling options in struggling.

    Does no one think Smith could get a good score. He might be perfect in a medium run chase. It's either him and Kawaja for me.

      Khawaja has just had the summer of his life in Australia, and despite barely playing in the Big Bash due to international commitments, was noticeably in his own class of one when he did.

      Look at their options. Warner at 4. Embarrassment of riches really, but of course he can count himself unlucky. Someone has to miss out I guess, and it's him.
