The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

        Need all the differentials I can get. Had a terrible AUS game with Finch(c). Great comeback in the WI game though, with 580pts and a 360th rank for that game.

        Buttler captain locked in for the second game if we bat first, Willey if we bowl.

          Why not go for differential SL assets to get two games out of them? Willey is in a very bad form. Buttler hasn't been top notch yet.

            Because, in all honesty, Sri Lanka are really cr@p.

            Willey is dangerous with the new ball and, excluding Dilshan & Chandimal, Sri Lanka's batting lineup is weak. Buttler has been disappointing but you never know with him. In the right math situation he can score 60/70 at 200SR.

      Getting a Punt Player may reward you. But Anderson 2 wickets+30 odd runs will get you down. 29th overall you are. Why the need to punt?

      When your team is set up too well for the next few matches, that the only way you can get Corey Anderson, is by selling Ish Sodhi... what do I do?

      Seems like a waste of a transfer, and the pitch is a spinning track for Sodhi - but can I risk going without Anderson's batting power and wicket taking potential??

        Yes. Because that's a wasted transfer in the first place. Suppose Sodhi gets 40 today and Corey gets 100(lets just assume). Your point is 100 with one transfer. Sodhi and a SL player today will have you two games out of him. And easily 60 pts.

    Quite annoyed it never saved my captain. Just logged on to sort out changes for next match and my captain was still bravo!

    I changed my captain with my subs and my subs saved so my captain should have saved also. I may not be near the top but I've not missed a game yet! Very annoying.

    Okay so I'm going with 2 LIV and 2 MUN defenders on WC

    This is the safest combination for 22.2m right?

    Smalling (6.5), Rojo (5.0), Clyne (5.2), Sakho (4.7)

    Leaves me 0.8m in case Darmian/ Skrtel looks safer

      Vandersay isn't on my shortlist of Sri Lanka players, so I won't be getting him personally. Definitely getting the other 3, but see Dilshan as the best of the bunch.

          I've got 4x 70k players... Roy, Charles, Munro and Sodhi

          Got 20k in the bank and I'm getting rid of Shakib, Tamim and Rahman after this game - gives me 320k to spend on 3 players who cost 300k

          I can get rid of my WI assets to bring in Ind vs Aus or SA

          Bravo, Russell, Samuels and Badree all add up to 400k - the problem is I only have 7 transfers left... so it's more a transfer issue I have, rather than a funding one.

    Been busy tonight but kept an eye on the cricket.

    Soooo...Shakib captain. That was a cracker!

    Finally had something go for me with a Sodhi wicket, but bowling so late and wickets falling as they are, who says he gets to bowl his overs? Fingers crossed he can snag me another couple otherwise it's a very bad start to the evening!

      Can't rely on Pereira to bat up the order or get his overs in can we? He's one of those players that provide flexibility. Do we know if the conditions suit him?

        I may go without Dilshan. Considering Herath, Vandersay and maybe Chandimal. Not sure about Perera or if the conditions suit him. Like you said we can't really rely on his batting nor bowling but I may punt on him still

          Chandimal averages 17 with a SR if 102, but I guess he can pick up points elsewhere. Not very inspiring stuff though, is it?

          I might just go for 2 SL players. They're such a bad side.

        I'm waiting to see the batting order... Dilshan is in and I'm captaining him... I've got Herath as the pick of the bowlers and Chandimal the next best batsman

        On my shortlist are Mathews, Kapugedera, Siriwardana with the bat and Kulasekara, Chameera and Senanayake with the ball

        Not sure who's performed pointswise, as I've not taken any notice of any Sri Lankan assets thus far... but if any of those players listed above appear likely to have a chance on both innings, then I may try and slot them in... but it's looking more likely to be Dilshan(C), Herath and Chandimal for me.

    Rahman 5 wickets (suppose Bang didn't win, which would go against him)
    But Elliot 3 wickets and next to no runs conceded in 4 overs and Sodhi 3 wickets both more worthy of the award in my opinion.

    Don't agree with that decision at all.

    I know Sri lanka play two games quickly but i dont see the point on loading up on there players and even captaining them there a really poor team now like going with less england for them is a bad choice imo

      Tend to agree-there are very few quality players in their side and it's anyone's guess how the points are split.
