ICC World T20 Fantasy – Phase 3

The ICC World T20 moves into its third phase from Tuesday (21st March). This takes a look at the fixtures and offers those playing the game a new article for cricket discussions.

Fixtures

22nd March, Tuesday  –  New Zealand Vs Pakistan, Mohali

23rd March, Wednesday –  England Vs Afghanistan, Delhi & India Vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru

25th March, Friday – Pakistan Vs Australia, Mohali & South Africa Vs West Indies, Nagpur

26th March, Saturday – Bangladesh Vs New Zealand, Kolkatta &  Sri Lanka Vs England, Delhi

27th March, Sunday – Afghanistan Vs West Indies, Nagpur & India Vs Australia, Mohali

28th March, Monday- South Africa Vs Sri Lanka, Delhi

Discussion Points

  • From this we can see that New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh play early on and their fixtures end early. So it would be good to load their players and save on some transfers.
  • Feroz shah kotla (New Delhi), Eden Gardens  (Kolkata), Chinna swamy (Bangalore) are slow pitches. But Mohali,Chandigarh is a little bit fast, skiddy, bouncy and grassy.

        Thanks! Same to you. Well only choices I'm not 100% convinced with are my wk - Shahzad and my Eng bowling option - Moeen.

          I've gone Shazhad as well. We've seen Shahzad's hitting ability, and the English attack is there for the taking.

          Not sure about Mooen as he sits so low in the order that he never really gets much time at the crease, and he seems out of touch with the bat. Prefer Rashid as a bowler, so I'd like the batting aspect to be more attractive to even up the package. But it just takes a couple of poor shots. Mooen should get overs after all.

        Who did you go with?

        I put too much emphasis on having NZ's Top 4 and Amir being the highest % owned player in today's game.

        Should have gone with the Top 4 batting/bowling all-rounder like I usually do - it's going to cost me!

        I considered it but it's early still. Batsmen need to get at least 50 to put up a decent score. Went with Anderson

        I did. Corey (c) is the sensible choice, but I've been well rewarded with some batsmen armband picks, and Anderson just seemed so boring. Wanted something to get excited about!

        One bad shot/good ball away from being peeved, but it's going to plan so far.

            Gotta love an explosive opening bat. Calculated risk, but for some reason I just didn't fancy Corey. Nearly didn't pick him at all tbh. He may still get a monster score of course. Plenty of batting opportunity remaining as well as overs.

      I made that mistake in the previous rounds. I now just think Williamson is not the best bet for fantasy T20, since his role seems to be the steady rock that they build around

          Definitely! I don't hate him really.. I hate myself for captaining him - should have been Anderson all day long but I got spooked by Amir's 77% ownership and the fact I had NZ's opening 4 batsmen
