With the final international break of the season now upon us, we’re afforded time to assess the leading contenders in the Fantasy Football Scout leagues across a variety of games. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League,Sky Sports and Sun Dream Team, there’s plenty to catch up on.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Following an 80-point Gameweek, Chris Rigden maintained his one-point lead at the summit of our Scout League. Like all of the top five, the bulk of Chris’ haul can be attributed to handing Harry Kane the captain’s armband. Supplementing the Englishman’s efforts, Dele Alli, Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Dimitri Payet also delivered attacking returns. Clean sheets from Ashley Williams and Toby Alderweireld capped off a strong showing. Chris now stand on 1,915 points – enough to earn him eighth spot overall, just 23 points off the FPL summit.

Craig Ward retained second place by also posting an 80-point round. He fielded a very similar team to Chris but opted against defensive coverage from Tottenham Hotspur and instead profited from Christian Fuchs’ shut-out and maximum bonus points. Now up to twelfth overall in FPL, Craig’s decision to bench the likes of Aaron Cresswell and David Silva ultimately paid off in light of their unproductive outings.

Adrian Lockhart (77) and George Man (82) are neck and neck with a total score of 1,905 points. The former tripled up on Spurs assets but will rue his choice not to deploy Robert Huth in the starting XI. As for the latter, he benefited from a host of the usual suspects and a trio of defenders that all recorded clean sheets.

By virtue of tallying 88 points in the previous batch of fixtures, Panna Fricker sneaked into the top five. Although she elected to bench Hector Bellerin (12 points), Lukasz Fabianski proved to be a key differential as she climbed up to 29th overall.

Thanks to the performances of our top five, the Fantasy Football Scout league sits at the top of the Best Leagues as we look to retain our title once again.

To join this league use the code: 600-520

FPL MEMBERS SCOUT LEAGUE

Chris Rigden also charts top of our Members’ League, boasting a 17-point lead over second-placed Andrew Dougan. Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez came up trumps for Andrew as he improved his overall standing with an 84-point return.

Ralf Buckenmaier notched 85 points to push himself into third position. Ralf benched all the right players and enjoyed a clean sweep of shut-outs from his backline.

In the wake of a mammoth 95-point Gameweek, Marsel Levi occupies fourth spot. Sanchez, Bellerin and Fuchs were his star performers beyond Kane.

Staying true to his team name (“Gettin’ Siggy Wit It”), Euan Thompson bestowed Sigurdsson with the captain’s armband. He consequently slipped to fifth in the rankings as many of his rivals plumped for Kane as captain.

ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Courtesy of an 101-point Gameweek, Sultan Osman (2295) extended his lead at the peak of our Ultimate Fantasy Premier League table to 53 points.

With regards to the chasing pack, Panna Fricker, Mateusz Grzadzielewski and Sean Tobin are locked in a three-way tussle on 2242 points. Meanwhile, Stephen Wakefield (2235) propelled himself into fifth after chalking up 94 points.

To join this league, use the code: 1258-516.

SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL

Resting on 2168 points, Alan Wood is a massive 181 points clear of second-placed Dexter Hayes (1987) and looks destined to claim the crown in our Scout League. Alan is also the overall number one in Sky and sits 122 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Elsewhere, Jonathon Bancroft (1985) is positioned just two points shy of Dexter in the bronze-medal berth.

Ranking top in the League of Leagues standings, we’re well on course to regain our title. To join this league use the league name: FFScout and the code: 8009000

SUN DREAM TEAM

Despite experiencing a middling Gameweek (58 points), David O Byrne (1850) remains the highest-charting player in our Sun leaderboard. The entirety of his back four registered clean sheets, but he suffered from Raheem Sterling’s injury and a no-show from Memphis Depay.

Jeff Payne (1824) shot into second place due to a 90-point round. The likes of Christian Eriksen and Daniel Sturridge furnished his outfit with a differential flavour that paid dividends. Four points back in the third slot, Jonathon Bancroft (1820) is banking on Arsenal to end the season on a high note, given that he’s recruited five players from the North London club.

Positioned fourth and fifth, respectively, Charles Mouzon (1800) and Colin Drury (1776) both managed 64 points in the last wave of match-ups. The former was hamstrung slightly by Diego Costa’s suspension and Roberto Firmino’s injury, while the latter will likely be planning an exit route for the out-of-favour Olivier Giroud.

He was, until recently, a technical adviser at Ajax. Always arguing with staff, management, directors, owners etc.

He was Johan Cruijjf and he was always right. Bit of a diva really.

    Current team:

    Butland, Schmeichel
    Bellerin, Toby, McAuley, Daniels, Shawcross*
    Ozil, Firmino*, Siggy, Mahrez, Alli
    Aguero, Kane, Vardy

    Potential WC team:

    DDG, Elliot
    Bellerin, Koscielny, Rojo, Reid, Sakho
    Ozil, Firmino*, Payet, Mahrez, Lanzini
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

The big question - WC now or wait a week?

                  Alright, thanks for the help.
As for your team, I would WC now mainly because of the little bit of money you'd save, as well as, the good fixtures your team will have (Lanzini, Koscielny, Elliot, etc.) Looks like you've gone for the double Arsenal defence and 1 attacker which is interesting, especially with your high SV, have you thought of doubling up in attack? Those fixtures are as good as they get for attackers

                  1. Lucy.

Sanchez and Ozil is a bit rich for me and I don't really want to lose any of the front three to fit in Welbeck.

I've been in that mindset too Lucy, believe me I'm a huge advocate of Ozil and I haven't owned Sanchez all season, he has flattered to deceive.

However, there's something new popping up in the stats these days, and it's painting a different story, plus Ozil has completely fallen away (more so than he has done all season).. I'm just saying it's not as obvious a choice as it was a few weeks ago imo.

            1. Lucy.

Fair enough 🙂 I'm taking the punt as I have the TV whereas others may be shackled to Ozil, but it is still a punt so I don't blame you for sticking with the tried and trusted. Ozil has been immense this season and I hate losing him.

    Would appreciate your thoughts. 🙂

How's this for a GW33 WC Draft? BB in GW 34

    Mignolet (Elliott)
    Rojo Sakho Gabriel (Simpson, Ake)
    Sanchez Ozil Payet Firmino (Antonio)
    Aguero Lukaku Martial

    Can't decide between:

    A) Mignolet + Ake + Antonio + 0.2m....probably means an extra hit to get Antonio out before GW 35.

    B) Gomes + Olsson + Alli

Is Antonio's DGW worth 4 more points than Alli? I feel the defensive duo in A is stronger too.

    Thank you!

I would say no. Antonio's DGW is not worth 4 more points then Alli. It should be worth more than 4 points, considering you're taking a hit to transfer him out. I feel the defensive duo is somewhat similar, but I would rather have A.

I would change it up a lot, there are quite a few players I wouldn't select. Your team value isn't helping, as are Martial and Lukaku with their blanks in GW 35.

I would probably NOT select: Martial, Antonio.
I am not too keen on: Gabriel and Lukaku.

Ake is a budget-option, I understand why you select him.
The biggest change I would make is going with one of Alexis / Ozil instead of two.

          Who to bring in?

Forwards are actually the hardest. Aguero & Kane have great GW35 fixtures so I am tempted to get them both in. Giroud is not possible because of my 2 def + 1 mid and is a rotation risk. Sturridge sure is consistent and explosive but also expensive and we all know about the risk. That leaves Mitrovic and Rashford, while Rondon is also sort of an option.

As for Antonio, I'd just select Alli. Or maybe Wijnaldum, Milner. But that depends on the $$$ from dumping one of Sanchez/Ozil, and I'm not sure if you're ready to do that. And I'd monitor KDB.

Not a lot of help I suppose, but if it was easy we all would have had the same team I guess.

This. 150 should be the minimum for a successful BB. Else it is a failure with all those extra matches.

Well, if you assume 60pts as the benchmark for a decent normal GW, that's effectively 5 pts per player per match (as effectively you normally play with 12 players (11+1 for captain)), so on a DGW BB with 15 x DGW player you effectively have 32 players (15+1 for captain, x 2 matches) so would say you would be looking at 160 points (32 x 5) being a benchmark for a good DGW with BB.

My SV is not spectacular. If I go for both, I would have Robles-Elliot as my GKs and Rojo-Bellerin as my only defenders from Arsenal and Man U. Today, I'm going to decide if it's worth the sacrifices in the rest of the team to afford those two.

If SV is tight sounds like just Ozil may be your best option then - there are loads of decent midfield mid-price options that could slot in for Sanchez while saving a hefty amount of cash.

I'm on the standard Luk-Kan-Kun at the moment, but not happy about it.

Sturridge - Europa rotation, injury risk, possible subs
Martial - playing out wide, debatable form
Rashford - huge rotation risk with Rooney back
Welbeck - probably moved out wide occasionally for Giroud
Ighalo / Deeney - nothing to play for, not that prolific
Pelle - troll, but could be a decent shout with fixtures and motivation for Europa

Silva & Cedric -->a) payet and ivanovic or

    Forster (McCarthy)

    Bellerin Simpson XXXX. (Wolly, Williams)

    Ozil Mahrez Alli Siggy XXXX

    Aguero Kane Lukaku

2ft 93k rank. Chasing 42 PT gap in mini league. He has only bench boost left. I've all my chips and wildcarding next week.

I'm trying to figure out whether WC32/33 BB34 vs WC36 BB37 is better.

So, for research purposes, please post your DGW34, GW35, and DGW37 teams.
State (1) when you WC; (2) when you play your BB; and (3) any hits, if any, for each week's teams.

I promise nothing, so don't expect an RMT fest.
But someone relevant and nice might comment on your team if it's interesting enough. You'll never know 😉

Seeing you got Reid, you got 4 players missing for GW35 (5 if you count Lukaku) and DDG which is benched.

I'm not too keen on transferring a DGW player out and getting in later as it's effectively a hit in the end

I guess I'll start since this is a lot to ask

WCing GW 32; BB on GW 34

DGW 34 team - no hits
      DDG - Elliot
      Rojo - Bellerin - Gabriel - Sakho - Simpson
      Ozil - Payet - Firmino - Mahrez - Lanzini
      Kun - Martial** - Lukaku

GW 35 - no hit (Martial -> Lukaku)
      Elliot - (DDG)
      Bellerin - Gabriel* - Sakho - Simpson - (Rojo)
      Ozil - Firmino - Mahrez* - (Payet - Lanzini)
      Kun* - Sturridge** - Lukaku

if Everton doesnt play GW35, Lanzini -> Alli

      DGW37 - no hit
      DDG - (Elliot)
      Creswell - Sakho - Rojo - (Bellerin - Simpson)
      Barkley - Firmino - Payet - Lanzini - (Ozil/Mahrez)
      Costa - Sturridge - Lukaku

At this point, I don't see how we can easily fill GW37 with 15 players unlike GW34 where there's Arsenal & City assets to be considered

I think it's about team composition and also how easy it is for one to assemble a desirable GW34 DGW team without hits. For me, I can get 8 DGW with 3 strong SGW players (Mahrez, Toby/Simpson, Kane) without taking a hit. However, I would have no Liverpool mids and would have Ozil when I think I'd prefer Sanchez (their forms are reversing, IMO). So, there are a few factors to consider when making the decision to wc for gw34 or gw37.

Fair point. I agree on how well setup your team is towards DGW34 as the most important factor. Not just "which one is better" kind of thing

Although tbh my current team was able to get out 11 DGW + Mahrez Fuchs Butland Alli, but I still WC anyway since I found a way to get a better DGW34 setup while getting GW37 without doing hits.

Having Sanchez and Ozil both really ties down funds 🙁 Can still afford both of them with a reasonable team but having just one of them does so much for my defence! Hope GW32 sways me towards one or the other, or even reinforce the decision to get both.

plus, 2 home games against potentially unmotivated teams in GW37 (MUN, WAT)

    WC team

    Cech, Elliot
    Bellerin, cresswell, rojo, janmaat, simpson
    Ozil, payet, coutinho, mahrez, alli
    Kun, kane, martial/welbeck/lukaku (0.7/1.2/-0.6 itb)

If I had welbeck cech would change to DDG (plus 0.2 itb)
Sacrifices would have to be made to get lukaku, most likely cresswell.

    Thoughts?

If Everton / Palace were to be rescheduled for GW35 then I will WC GW32 . I will be going all in on 15 DWG 34 players ( Martial in for Kane) but with the extra FT gained allows a switch back to Kane for GW35 and a carry forward of 2 FT.
      GW34 :-
      DDG Elliot
      Bellerin , Sakho , Ollson , Rojo , Collocini
      Payet , Antonio , Ozil , Sanchez , Lennon
      Aguero , Martial , Lukaku

      .6m ITB

      --------------------DDG - Elliott-------------------------
      -Sakho - Gabriel - Olsson - Simpson - Rojo-
