We drop by the Weekly Shop a little later than usual this afternoon, after Gameweek 33 came to its conclusion last night. As usual, we analyse the player lists of our partner games to highlight the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As always, the player analysis is split into two sections: I’ll break down the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Better Buys

United’s defensive form at home is unparalleled, with ten clean sheets in 15 matches at least two more than any other side. The Red Devils have conceded a mere seven times in front of their own fans – again, that’s more resilient than any other side – and with two home ties against bottom-five sides coming up, David De Gea (FantasyBet 5.5m, Draftkings $4,500) is by far the stand-out keeper for the Gameweek’s fixtures.

West Brom have struggled to vindicate Tony Pulis’ reputation as a defensive-orientated manager this campaign, with a mere two clean sheets in seven matches reflecting a drop off in resilience. However, weekend visitors Watford have scored only once in six away ties, making Craig Dawson (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $3,900) a tempting prospect. While the chances of a shut-out against Arsenal are slim, the right-back’s aerial threat could be effective against a side that have conceded the second most attempts from set plays (23) over the last four.

Prior to hosting the Baggies, Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates. Although the Eagles kept back-to-back clean sheets in Gameweek 33 , they have struggled on their travels and conceded in each of their last six road trips. Alexis Sanchez (FantasyBet 11m) continued his best run of form of the campaign with a goal at Upton Park – three strikes and as many assists over the last five Gameweeks makes the Chilean one of the first names in our line-ups.

Man City’s progress to the last four of the Champion’s League will boost morale at the Etihad but it also makes rotation more likely over the run-in. Maintaining fourth place is also a serious necessity, though, so while Sergio Aguero (FantasyBet 13m, Draftkings $8,600) could find his pitch time slightly rationed, we still expect the Argentine to start both matches at Chelsea and Newcastle. Aguero has netted five times in his last six away outings and, with Kevin de Bruyne back in the mix, still has the quality to make an impact even with reduced minutes.

Poundstretchers

The goalless draw at Selhurst Park saw Joel Robles (FantasyBet 4m, Draftkings $4,100) pick up all three bonus points after the Toffees keeper made six saves to deny Alan Pardew’s team. A visit from Southampton, who have been erratic on the road and failed to net in five of their last nine away ties, bodes well for successive clean sheets. Although a short trip four days later to Anfield does not promise much, the Spaniard’s bargain price tag still makes him one to consider for saving funds.

Newcastle may be in terrible form but the upcoming visits from Swansea and Manchester City are both must-win matches if they are to have any chance of surviving the drop. If you’re willing to invest in a backs-against-the-wall Magpies team then two goals and an assist in four starts highlights Andros Townsend’s (FantasyBet 5.5m, Draftkings $4,800) Fantasy potential with assured pitch time.

Having scored against Everton and Watford, Alex Iwobi (FantasyBet 4.5m) maintained his fine form with a pair of assists against West Ham last Saturday. We’re backing the Arsenal midfielder to continue to offer an excellent value option as Crystal Palace and West Brom roll up to the Emirates.

United’s pair of home clashes could offer a number of options. Tim Fosu-Mensah (FantasyBet 4.0m, Draftkings $3,000) has started the last two in all competitions at right-back and the youngster’s calibre of displays suggest he could retain that role ahead of the likes of Matteo Darmian for the double. Jesse Lingard (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $4,500) has played more centrally of late and while he’s had a dry run in front of goal, those upcoming match-ups against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace should provide more chances. Marcus Rashford’s (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $5,600) FA Cup goal against West Ham brings the youngster into contention as a cheaper alternative to the in-form Anthony Martial (FantasyBet 7.5m, Draftkings $6,600) in our line-ups. While the Frenchman is likely to get more minutes, Rashford could end up outshining his team-mate for a much lower price-tag.

Slaven Bilic appears to have focused on bringing the best out of Andy Carroll (FantasyBet 6m) of late. The frontman followed up his weekend hat-trick against Arsenal with an assist for James Tomkins’ cup consolation goal against United on Wednesday night and while a weekend trip to Leicester could be tricky, a home tie against a Watford side that have run out of steam promises more goals.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups. Tomorrow I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

I'm a bit late to the party but Swansea getting a £110 million take over by a US consortium is great seems like US businessmen want to help the lower teams in the PL (albeit Aston Villa's case)

John Henry has been ok (ish) with us lowering the match day & freezing the season ticket prices for next year Gillett was terrible I agree but he Glazers aren't the worlds worst owners at least they allow the club to spend money in return for profit not like Randy Lerner who seems disinterested.

    Robles / Migs
    Bellerin / Lovren / Delaney / Gabriel / Simpson
    Sanchez(c) / Lanzini / Lennon (50%) / KDB / Coutinho
    Lukaku / Aguero / Mitrovic

I have 14 DGW players, will I change Lennon >>> Alli as Lennon may not play 2 matches plus no GW 35 & TOT has good fixtures and less rotation, that will give me 13 DGW players. Will I go with it or get any DGW players to replace Lennon.

    Help needed please

What transfers would you do to this team to try and get a full XI DGWers for 34 and a full XI for 35

    Adrian Schmeichel

    Clyne Sakho Fuchs Walker Janmaat

    Sanchez Lennon Ozil Barkley Iwobi

    Lukaku Pelle Aguero

    0 in bank 1FT

Happy to do a -8 if need be

    Any ideas would be welcomed

      • 10 Years
      9 years, 12 months ago

Get rid of Lukaku for Martial, Barkley for Firmino, Lennon for Lanzini.

Not too much else you can do if you only wanna take a -8 hit. That'll give you 11 for DGW34 and 35

  17. Rossaldinho

Biggest dilemma for DGW34 is how to cover MU defence! I needed funds elsewhere so could not afford Smalling (overrated!) or De Gea and decided to take Darmian as Rojo was seriously off form at the time and is or was very likely to lose his place. However since the emergence of Fosu-Mensah and Darmian's own poor form I was likely to have no MU cover at all! So I spent 4 points and brought in Fosu-Mensah alongside Darmian to replace injured Klose. My thinking is that Darmian is the only MU defender who can play anywhere in the back four so potentially could replace Rojo at left back. What's the likelihood over the two games I will get Darmian on the pitch??

      • 14 Years

Very small I'd say.. Smaller than Rojo or FM.. Maybe start 1 game but more likely not.. He's terrible.

    Bolasie + Lennon OUT for

    B. Ozil + Lanzini (assured gametime, no fixture for Lanzini in 35)
    C. Payet + Iwobi

I think A is much better. I don't think there's a huge gametime risk for KDB; the semi isn't until after the stoke game. And Iwobi should keep starting.

If not, then B. Feels like C has the disadvantages of both A and B.

You've got to start in on Aguero over Lukaku then move it to Sanchez.

Chelsea away though...and Lukaku got 2 vs. Southampton once already.

My concern with Kun is his better fixture is the second, and if he blanks in the first sticking will be agonising.

What do you predict your score to be this gameweek?? Approximate guesses, I'm hoping I break 100 but I've never done that before. I'll keep that at my estimate though

Must be a nice team if you have to bench one of those! I would bench the troll Kaku.

Well like many others, injuries have hurt my plans for the coming weeks.

    DDG, Robles
    Bellerin, Gabriel, Sakho, Fuchs, Janmaat
    Sanchez, Coutinho, Payet, Mahrez, Lennon
    Aguero, Lukaku, Martial

1.4m in the bank, 1 FT

Had 13 DGW players for this week and 6 players missing for GW 35 (Robles, Lennon, Lukaku, DDG, Martial, Payet) so i had planned DDG > Mignolet and Lennon to someone. That's where i planned my 2 transfer for next GW.

Now i'm wondering if i should even use BB this week as Janmaat likely to miss first game and not expecting much from his 2nd and Lennon will not play much imo. Any Advice?

you were going to sell lennon anyhow so take him out. Janmaat out for a hit and then your bb is good to go.

Need to get a pool option who plays in 35 so prob milner or a defender. A city or wba player can also get you through 35. Nasri or JEvans are options

Selling Janmaat will be taking another hit in GW 35 though as he was one of the players iwho was going to start for me that GW.

Any suggestions who to bring in for them? The choices are so meh.. Milner and Nasri etc aren't the best options really? Suppose i could get lucky though.

What to do with this bag. Have 12/15 DGW with Fuchs, Mahrez and Kane still in from last week’s WC.

    Darlow
    Bellerin - Gabriel - Mangala-
    Sanchez - Couthino - Payet - Lanzini
    Aguero - Lukaku – Kane

    Robles - Mahrez – Sakho - Fuchs

Q1- Leaning towards using my TC chip on Sanchez with a swerve on using the BB. Thoughts?
Q2 - How does the bench look? Darlow c/s miracle too hopeful? Sakho benched despite having dgw, just feel he probably won’t play both fixtures anyway.

Q1 - yes to Sanchez TC
Q2 - I'd play Sakho over Mangala due to 2 away games for City. Darlow vs Robles is a bit of a toss up

Afternoon chaps. Anything worth a transfer or save? 0.6m ITB and 1FT. Using my BB too.

    ------------------------------Robles (DGW)-----------------------------------------
    -----------Gabriel(DGW) - Bellerin(DGW) - Sakho(DGW)------------------
    ---Payet(DGW) - Coutinho(DGW) - KDB(DGW) - Sanchez(DGW)---
    ---------Aguero(DGW) - Wickham(DGW) - Lukaku(DGW)----------------

    Bench: Darlow(DGW) - Delaney(DGW) - Mahrez - Simpson

    A) Mahrez > Milner/Townsend
    B) Delaney > Moreno
    C) Wickham > Origi?
    D) Anything else
    E) Save

Not C if Origi plays 60+ tonight at least.
A with Milner seems the safest option
