Double Gameweek fever has arrived at FantasyBet this week. With a 15-match competition available in the freerolls and in our very own Fantasy Football Scout league, those ruing any wildcard errors are afforded the chance to build a new line-up for the extended round of fixtures.

It’s going to be a busy week, with Premier League action every day until Thursday. FantasyBet has £3500 in prizes up for grabs over the period, with contests starting every day. The big weekly pot, the Grand Weekend, remains a nine-fixture contest, while there are two qualifiers for the £5,000 end of season competition. For a £1.10 entry fee there’s a Flash Mode qualifier, offering a ticket for the Gameweek 38 finale, while in the £3.30 qualifier there are two tickets up for grabs – both are eight-match slates and miss Saturday’s lunchtime clash at Carrow Road and Monday’s Britannia encounter.

As usual the team below will be entered into the freeroll so this week I’ve gone with a full complement of players with a pair of fixtures to follow. I’m mainly focusing on assets from Manchester United and Arsenal, with both sides set for a pair of home ties.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring and pricing system.

Check out this daily and weekly fantasy football guide to see how the game works.

MY TEAM

David De Gea
Dejan Lovren
Hector Bellerin
Chris Smalling
Alex Iwobi
Dimitri Payet
Philippe Coutinho
Kevin De Bruyne
Alexis Sanchez
Anthony Martial
Sergio Aguero

KEY PICKS

David de Gea: United have been excellent defensively at Old Trafford this campaign, picking up ten clean sheets so far, with three of those in the last four outings in front of their fans. De Gea is the main reason for that solidity and he could easily get into double figures over the clashes against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Hector Bellerin: Arsenal will be aiming for six points against West Brom and Crystal Palace and having picked up back-to-back clean sheets prior to losing their nerve at Upton Park, another pair of shut-outs are on the cards. Bellerin is also in promising attacking form, recording a goal and three assists over the last four league matches, so gets the nod for the double-header.

Kevin De Bruyne: Afforded a sub appearance for the win against West Brom last time out, the Belgian’s midweek winner against PSG was his third goal in as many starts since returning from injury. Despite having trips to trips to Stamford Bridge and St James’ on his agenda, De Bruyne looks unstoppable of late and could plunder the points again.

Anthony Martial: United’s top goalscorer may have only a single strike to his name in the last four league matches but had nine attempts on goal over that period. Martial also provided both assists in the 2-1 FA cup win over West Ham and looks set for further returns in the two Old Trafford encounters.

THIS WEEK’S GAME PICKS

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet are the freerolls. There is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard and Flash mode.

FantasyBet’s flagship contest, the Grand Weekend contest, skips the match at Carrow Road, so line-ups can be entered right up until the 3pm kick-offs. It’s £11 to enter to compete for a minimum prize pot of £1000.

In the run-up to the Grand Finale in Gameweek 38, which has a £5,000 pot on offer, it’s possible to enter two qualifiers this week for a £1.10 or £3.30 stake to win an entry ticket usually worth £33.

FantasyBet also has the mid-week fixtures covered. Among the contests are a £1.10 game with a £50 pot, and a £300 guaranteed game for a £22 entry fee. The entry deadline for these contests are Tuesday evening.

LAST WEEK

It was a week to forget after not picking up any winnings. In the Grand Weekend contest, despite having Sergio Aguero as captain and Graziano Pelle and Scott Dann contributing, I was unable to get into the money places in a low-scoring Gameweek all round. Rus73den’s 83 points was enough to take top spot. Captaining Pelle provided 24 points, while Jamie Vardy and Toby Alderweireld also chipped in with double-figure hauls.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I’m entering the Grand Weekend, the Flash Qualifier, the freerolls, the £120 guaranteed Double-up contest and entering a team into the FFScout Picks League Football Scout league for a total outlay of £16.50.

In addition, I’ll be going up against Larry Legend, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £600 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22.

Also the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £400 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

TheInfamousSpag topped the Scout Picks League with a score of 80 points. Alex Iwobi’s 10 points from the bench in replace of Philippe Coutinho may have been a stroke of luck but Sergio Aguero and Jamie Vardy proved sound picks up front, while Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose also delivered.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League, with a £1.10 stake for entry, it is now possible to enter two teams into this contest. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the £100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

Anyone know what to do with Lukaku? Get Martial for free? (But it means a hit next week to sort out team for GW35)

-4 to get someone in then -4 to get them out again after a DGW when they might get rotated is helluva risky.

Even though FM has impressed, trying to come up with reasons to call them 'nailed' could end in tears. DDG and Smalling. Not even Smalling if I am truthful, even though I have him. All the others is a lottery. LvG picks the names out of a hat.

I'm pondering this. Does Rojo's flexibility make him more likely to fit in somewhere? Also, both have regularly not played the full 90. Looking at their history does not fill me with confidence.

Rojo has been dire recently, but Van Gaal won't drop him - just subs him really early in games. Fosu-Immensah is nailed now I'd say.

Why would they? Might as well let his winning starting XI play the season out and have some fun once the pressure is off. I think there's another twist in the title race yet though.

Hah, completely the same moves as I did!

I've done Nasri and Townsend, personally, because I already have 2 'Pool players and don't know how their minutes will shape up over 34, though obviously Milner is the strongest choice.

I fancy Nasri to come in and play close to 100% of the league minutes as he's not in the UCL squad so Pelle will rest players and keep playing him in the prem.

Townsend - well, massive punt. But could easily deliver in the home games - serial ruiner of clean sheets!

In the article, Martinez says Lukaku plays whenever fit. That he 'needs' to play to feel important and confident. Previously he has also praised him that he doesn't take time to recover between closely spaced games. Also, they don't have very good replacements for Lukaku. He'll play both, imo.

To be honest, shipping Lukaku isn't warranted unless he's out for a week or two. Even a single fixture Lukaku this week with a double in 37 isn't worth the transfer cost of getting him out and back in again. Only people who are shipping should be wildcarders.

Chasing the golden boot, angling for a move to the bigger club he wants. Everton have little to play for, but Lukaku has plenty

But I would have to ship him or Payet out anyway to have 11 playing in 35, so that doesn't affect my plan. Plus I am chasing in my mini league so I really can't afford him to miss out!

Trouble is he's hardly setting the world on fire. He's a bit of Mahrez in that he's right up there but all his points are well weighted in the first half of the season. And unlike Mahrez he hardly inspires confidence when you watch him play.

Lennon and Bolasie > Lingard and Lanzini for free?

Means I'll have to do a -4 next week to field 11 though.

Wouldn't get Lingard. Like the Lanzini move

Get Lanzini. He played very good against Arsenal.

    Robles (Darlow)
    Bellerin, Smalling, Gabriel, Sakho (Simpson)
Payet, Sanchez (TC), Coutinho (Bolasie, Mahrez)
    Aguero, Lukaku, Martial

    1FT, 0.5 ITB

Lukaku and Bolasie out for a hit?

I asked that before, Clichy to Fosu Mensah. Or any other defender, less likely to be benched, rotated or anything. I think he played well against PSG but Kol may get those minutes, or he will enter pitch at 89'

Would you BB or TC this team this week? still have WC. No FT. 1.1ITB

    De Gea Robbles
    Clichy Darmian Sakho Gabriel Simpson*
    Sanchez Payet Coutinho Iwobi Mahrez*
    Aguero Lukaku Martial

With doubts over Lukaku, Clichy, Darmian, Gabriel and maybe Sakho I'm leaning towards TC Sanchez this week and WC in 36 and BB in 37.

Go hard or go home! Time to endure a couple of rotation risks. I hope the FPL gods smile upon my bench boost this weekend.

    DDG - Robles
    Bells - Gabriel - TFM - Simpson - Delaney
    KDB - Sanchez (c) - Payet - Milner - Mahrez
    Martial - Lukaku - Aguero

    Peace!

    A)Lukaku
    B)Aguero

From reading the comments on here it seems a lot of people write what they want to believe rather than be realistic. Maybe its because of the double gameweek and everyone is chasing the huge score but realistically come the end of 35 when you take into account the rotations and the blank many of these popular picks will score no better than those without a double.

Trying to fix my defense this week. Who's more likely to bring in the points?

    Sakho / Bellerin / GABRIEL

    Sakho / Bellerin / DANN

Much easier fixtures, I picked Gabriel.

Tough as I expected Gabriel to only play once, at most, in GW34.

But one Gabriel CS could be worth more than two Dann appearances. Unless CPL continues this CS run.

So I'd go Dann - especially for free.

I am using BB Chip this week and need some advice on it.

    Current bench: Gabriel, Mahrez, Simpson

    A: Save FT
B: Transfer one of them out?

With that 3 I'd save. If you are already well set for gw 35 then maybe I'd ship simpson for a dgw defender.

If I was in your shoes I'd probably save. Your better set up for GW35 with those guys and 2FTs, the more balanced approach probably a lot around here would have gone for in hindsight.

Capable of assists from wide, if not goals. Likes playing at home, and think Rashford is more likely to be rested next out of the two. Also on pens

Getting more and more tempted by Aguero for TC this week. Brought in Sanchez for a hit specifically to TC him, but Newcastle's injuries at the back, and Chelsea's defence at home lately make Aguero a tempting option.

Also, his ownership means that if I go for Sanchez I'll have to hope that Aguero blanks, which takes some of the fun out of FPL when your hoping that your own players don't deliver.

Aguero at rotation risk though and against Chelsea (which although not the best team in the League, can still pack a punch).

Sanchez at HOME to CRY and WBA.

Thanks for getting me back on track. It does make more sense, an extra point per goal and a point for CS as well should end the discussion. I guess I'll just have to find a big pillow to hide behind for TWO Aguero matches...
