Next up this Friday afternoon, it’s time for our regular Sky Sports Focus article. As always, we bring you the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries, the transfer trends and our Watchlist before taking a look at the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 37 Man of the Match Awards

Listed below are the players that caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters from last weekend’s fixtures achieving the Man of the Match award (worth an additional five points).

Gameweek 37 Bonus Points

Four goalkeepers picked up bonus last week. Joel Robles managed to earn bonus in both his fixtures – the Toffees stopper made 14 saves, though still conceded on five occasions. Leading the way for keepers are Petr Cech, Jack Butland and Heurelho Gomes with 16 bonus points each.

In defence 15 players grabbed bonus; ten for tackles and seven for completed passes. Centre-backs Gabriel and Federico Fernandez both managed to pick up both despite playing just one game. Simon Francis is the top scoring defender in terms of bonus with 26 points – the equivalent of five clean sheets.

In midfield there were 17 beneficiaries in total: eight for tackling and 12 for passes. Four players managed to pick up four bonus points over the double but the star of the show was Lucas with six – the Brazilian now has 40 for the season and is second to only Cesc Fabregas with 60.

Wayne Rooney managed to pick up passing bonus to fly the flag for forwards and is one of the few front men to flirt with bonus on a semi-regular basis over the last few seasons.

Fantasy Football Scout members can access all information regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

Watchlist

Here I aim to highlight a few differential players with low ownership that I think could be good options in the coming weeks to help you climb the rankings. These will be looked at in three specific price brackets to cater for our available budget. These names evolve with fixtures and form and offer Fantasy managers a nudge in hopefully the right direction.

Notes
I opted to change my plans this week as Romelu Lukaku’s no-show followed by Liverpool’s Sunday team sheet forced me to abandon the Philippe Coutinho captain strategy and pushed me into the welcoming arms of Alexis Sanchez, who racked up 24 points over the double. I have owned the Chilean for long periods of the season but unfortunately at the wrong times until now – hopefully we have made up our differences and the love affair can rekindle.

Looking forward I’m in a fairly good position for Gameweek 38 as I have nine players with a fixture, which I expect is slightly more than most. With my remaining three transfers I’ll likely target a Liverpool and a Chelsea player for the double Gameweek in 40 but I’m considering using the third on switching the underperforming Craig Dawson to Kyle Walker. Spurs look likely to keep a few more clean sheets before the season is out and a double up could pay dividends.

Captain Plan
I’m locked into Sergio Aguero as captain for Saturday’s game at home to Stoke. Although his minutes may be managed ahead of the Champions League clash with Real, we all know how deadly he can be in a short period of time, so I’ll be hoping he can continue his great recent form.

For Sunday it will be a switch to Sanchez, who travels to the Stadium of Light to challenge Sunderland. This works out well as Arsenal play on match day one in Gameweek 39 at home to Norwich.

It’s definitely worth noting that Tottenham host West Brom on Monday night football and so a switch to Harry Kane could again reap big rewards – however, with Spurs not playing until match day three in Gameweek 39, it will likely take transfers to navigate this situation.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Once again, we’re running our own Fantasy Football Scout League this season and are sitting in first place in the rankings at present. With a £1000 prize to the winner, you’d be mad not to get involved. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8009000.

The Fantasy Football Club

This Friday The Fantasy Football Club show, where you can catch new host Max Rushden and Paul Merson at 18:00 SkySports 1 HD where they will be discussing the upcoming week’s Fantasy Football and asking former Real Madrid coach Paul Clement for his #One2Eleven.

No way Ulloa is nailed on lads.

Ranieri won't play 442 with Ulloa in behind lol. He's talked about changing tactics and highlighted Mahrez as his 'light' in press conference.

I think Mahrez will now have a more integral role in a changed set up, bit of a concern for us now non-owners.

I bought Ulloa.. Think he'll play as striker, even if it means Okazaki dropping out. Don't think Okazaki will play up front on his own even if it means Mahrez playing behind him.

      If he's fit, he starts.

His gametime is the only concern, not that it matters with Aguero. He can knock 5 past you in the blink of an eye.

RP: This Aguero getting rested talk is a myth.

Before the PSG games (6th and 12th April), Aguero played 78 mins vs Bournemouth on the 2nd April and 89 mins vs WBA on the 9th April, scoring a goal in each game and picking up 4 bonus points combined.

    Don't be fooled! Aguero(c) 😎

I have a big concern and that is Man City looked a bit non fussed against Newcastle and were actually awful second half. Just concerned they put in a half hearted performance. KDB and Aguero both refused to battle for 50/50s clearly desperate to remain in tact for Madrid.

I can field 11 players without taking a hit, but that will include some rotations risks and not having any Spurs player.
    Hart(Robles)
Bellerin/Gabriel*/Sakho*/Delaney(thinking of getting in Kirchoff for Delaney so I can field 11) (Smalling)
    Sanchez/KDB*/Milner*/Coutinho*(Lanzini)
    Mitrovic*/Aguero( Martial)

Or should I take a hit or two to have more security of starts and have Kane in?

Got six nailed players this week, possibly rising to nine depending on Sakho, Gabriel & Coutinho.

Considering the following 12 point hit:

TFM, Coutinho, Lukaku, Martial > Rose, Alli, Kane & Defoe

A big hit but would allow me to cover my rival's Spurs' players (he's 24 points behind) and give me another DGW player in Defoe. Thoughts?

    Am I doing this right?

After a -8 my team looks like this:

    Mignolet (Robles)
    Bellerin Sakho Gabriel (PvA Smalling)
    Sanchez Mahrez Coutinho Alli (Payet)
    Aguero Kane Defoe

PvA the only benched player with a game.

Worried about Sakho and Coutinho's gametime, but if Sakho is benched, he probably won't come on, and if Coutinho plays, he may score, do you agree?

    A) yes, bench PvA
    B) no, you should start [insert name] ahead of PvA

I wouldn't bench PVA, because he's up against Sanchez, who does not defend. I can see goals.

    Darlow
    Sakho Bellerin Simpson Gabriel
    Coutinho Milner Payet
    Aguero Defoe Kane (C)

    Nasri / Payet / Smalling

As you can see, no bench. What to do:

      Looks good for me.

And perhaps Rose over Toby. You may need funds for later.

Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a thigh strain and could miss the CL game vs City.

Martial + Cout > Kane + Alli, boring but I assume everyone is doing the same

As so many of you are taking out Coutinho...did Klopp mention that Cout won't start for sure?

What an odd double game week.

I ended up with 153 points total but did these transfers

    Out | IN | points
    Lennon | Iwobi | +2
    Defoe | Martial | -4
    Darmian | Fosu-M | -16

and it was a -8 hit...

I didn't have shoot myself in the foot

Does anyone else write a nice long response to someone then to notice there's a new post??

All the time. It happens more frequently when I reply to someone on a previous post during a busy period and by the time I'm finished 3 pages have passed. It's very frustrating. Talking of frustrating, why do so many people still insist on using paper over digital documents?! Paper is a thin material produced by pressing together moist fibres of cellulose pulp derived from wood, rags or grasses, and drying them into flexible sheets. It is a versatile material with many uses, including writing, printing, packaging, cleaning, and a number of industrial and construction processes.

The pulp papermaking process is said to have been developed in China during the early 2nd century AD, possibly as early as the year 105 A.D by the Han court eunuch Cai Lun, although the earliest archaeological fragments of paper derive from the 2nd century BC in China. The modern pulp and paper industry is global, with China leading its production and the United States right behind it.

he oldest known archaeological fragments of the immediate precursor to modern paper, date to the 2nd century BC in China. The pulp papermaking process is ascribed to Cai Lun, a 2nd-century AD Han court eunuch. With paper as an effective substitute for silk in many applications, China could export silk in greater quantity, contributing to a Golden Age.

Its knowledge and uses spread from China through the Middle East to medieval Europe in the 13th century, where the first water powered paper mills were built.Because of paper's introduction to the West through the city of Baghdad, it was first called bagdatikos. In the 19th century, industrial manufacture greatly lowered its cost, enabling mass exchange of information and contributing to significant cultural shifts. In 1844, the Canadian inventor Charles Fenerty and the German F. G. Keller independently developed processes for pulping wood fibres.
