Liverpool’s Divock Origi is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama have been passed fit for Southampton’s trip to Villa, Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s visit to City, whilst Chris Smalling has overcome a knock in time for United’s FA Cup semi-final with Everton.

Reports in the local press suggest the Divock Origi is ruled out for the season with the ankle injury sustained against Everton in midweek. The Liverpool striker will undergo further scans today to ascertain the likely length of absence.

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Harry Arter and Adam Smith will remain sidelined for the visit of Chelsea. The Bournemouth boss also indicated he will continue to ease Callum Wilson back into action after the striker was afforded a couple of sub appearances following his return from injury.

Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama are available for Southampton’s trip to Villa after recovering from the knocks that forced both off in last week’s draw at Everton. Ronald Koeman has also confirmed that Charlie Austin remains unavailable though is close to returning from a knee problem.

Chris Smalling has shrugged off a knock picked up against Palace on Wednesday night and is available for United’s FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Adnan Januzaj remains unavailable due to a lack of match fitness.

Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s trip to the Etihad with the hamstring injury that forced him off during Monday’s loss at Spurs. Mark Hughes has revealed that Shay Given is likely to keep his place in goal, though Marc Wilson, Glen Johnson and Jon Walters are still sidelined.

Ramiro Funes Mori serves the first of a three-match ban for Everton’s FA Cup semi-final encounter against Man United. Earlier this morning, Roberto Martinez also confirmed that Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka and John Stones are set for late assessments, though Seamus Coleman has failed to recover from a hamstring complaint.

Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Sunderland after missing last night’s win over West Brom with a minor back problem.

GW38's can be a bit hard to predict. Do you think Arsenal will be in a fight for Europe by then?

Depends on the result against City in 37, either way I think it'll be a goalfest. We've scored 4 in 5 of our last 10 final home games of the season. Also scored 3 a couples of times too. We love a party at the Emirates.

          • 10 Years
          9 years, 9 months ago

I guess it's not the worst move, but you'd have to bear in mind you'd be burning one of your four remaining transfers (not including hits) to bring him back again - are you confident that those transfers won't be needed elsewhere to ensure coverage for the next DGW?

          1. RAFA THE GAFFA
            • 9 Years
            9 years, 9 months ago

Hmm, it's a tough call! I could do Martial+Payet for Kane+Townsend (11 GW players) or Martial+Coutinho for Kane+Townsend (10 GW players) for -4 hit? But no Alli or Spurs def!

            Thanks for the input!

Well getting rid of Martial is a good idea, not sure about ditching payet but I guess his form isn't that great at the moment...coutinho might end up playing this week and trolling everyone...is a tough one you're right. Not sure what to advise apart from laying out a quick plan of what you'd want to do over the next 4 weeks, make sure you'll have money ITB at each stage to afford it and write out your lineup for each week to see if you'd be happy with it, that's what I do

you think Alli and Spurs def are essential? I know Kane is

                  9 years, 9 months ago

Yes and no, I don't consider any defenders essential as it's so easy for them to lose that CS, but that's just me. I have Kane and Alli myself, and didn't get rid over the DGW like most people, so I guess that means I consider them essential. For me, they are both in form and therefore necessary to have. I used to have Toby but don't anymore - I might consider getting Rose back in but I think there are higher priorities

    A: Rashford -> Defoe
    B: Rashford + Sturridge -> Kane + Defoe (-4)

With Origi out I don't think I would get rid of Sturridge. Certainly not for a hit.

Would C involve a -8? I think that might be a bit much, but I understand the rational bethind the transfers. I would stick to A, because hitting to get in a player who blanks seems excessive.

I forgot I had played my AAO, so my original plan is in the toilet. So, I come seeking wisdom.

    1. Would you go

    A) Lanzini to Alli
    or
    B) Martial to Pellé

    And

    2. Having done that, would you then take a hit to bring in a defender to be able to field 11?

    my GKs are:
    DDG - Robles

decided to sell DDG to fund Ward ➡ PvA move

    which GK should I get?

I am gonna play Robles in GW36 (BOU) and GW37 (lei, sun)

So I need a GK for GW35 and GW38. Who should I go for:

    A. Foster (avl / SOU)
    B. Mignolet (NEW / wba)
    C. Schmeichel (SWA / che)

I have a feeling Southampton will absolutely stuff Villa. 8-0!
