Craig Dawson scores at both ends of the pitch as West Brom all but end Tottenham’s title tilt. Christian Eriksen picks up the points yet again, though Dele Alli could be in hot water after an apparent off-the-ball incident with Claudio Yacob was missed by the referee. Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy’s ban will be extended by one match ahead of Leicester’s vital trip to Old Trafford.

Spurs title bid almost over

Tottenham Hotspur’s slim title hopes all but ended following a 1-1 victory at White Hart Lane, ensuring that Leicester City require a solitary victory to lift the Premier League crown.

Christian Eriksen provided the assist for the Craig Dawson own goal that opened the scoring, meaning that he now delivered attacking returns (one goal, five assists) in his last six starts. The Dane is now up to third in the FPL midfield standing on 170 points to team-mate Dele Alli’s 166, though the latter’s 34% owners will be bracing themselves after he appeared to throw a punch at the Baggies’ Claudio Yacob. Given that the referee failed to see the incident, Alli could face a retrospective violent conduct charge by the FA, potentially resulting in a three-match suspension that would rule him out for the rest of the season.

Harry Kane, meanwhile, spurned a golden opportunity in the first period but proved largely ineffectual for the remainder of the encounter. Nonetheless, the 10.4-priced marksman has netted 14 goals in 18 London derbies during his fledgling career, which paints a positive picture ahead of the Lilywhites’ trip to Chelsea next Monday night.

Eric Dier was withdrawn 15 minutes from time after complaining about dizziness. Given how crucial the enforcer is to Tottenham’s defensive resolve, his potential absence would force us to reassess their clean sheet prospects at Stamford Bridge.

Dawson salvages point for Baggies

Tony Pulis’ side arrested a run of three successive defeats with a hard-fought draw against the North Londoners.

The Baggies were without Ben Foster and Sadio Berahino for the trip to White Hart Lane after both were ruled out with ankle problems.

Craig Dawson atoned for his early own goal with a headed leveler, courtesy of a Craig Gardener assist at the opposite end. The 5.1-priced right-back ranks joint-second among all defenders for goals (four) this term but – like the rest of his teammates – is unlikely to attract investment in appreciation of West Brom’s challenging schedule (WHU, bou, LIV).

Vardy Banned for United Clash

Earlier this morning, the FA confirmed that Jamie Vardy has been handed a one-match suspension on the grounds of improper conduct following his dismissal against West Ham United.

Having sat out the weekend win over Swansea, the Leicester forward attended a personal hearing yesterday but his attempt to avoid an extra ban has failed. Given that he will now be available for the Gameweek 37 home encounter against Everton, thus handing him just two more matches before the season ends, many of his 37% owners may look to cut ties at a time where eight sides play four times in the final three rounds of fixtures.

Leonardo Ulloa is likely to shrug off the minor back problem that forced him off against the Swans on Sunday to lead the line at Vardy’s expense. Given that the Argentine netted twice in the 4-0 win, Claudio Ranieri may well retain an unchanged lineup as Leicester go to Old Trafford looking to clinch the title.

In a strange twist of fate, Andy the Leicester fan is mirroring his own teams exploits at the top of the Premier League. It would be a shame not to win after being top for so long but as someone once said, it's only gw38 that counts. 🙂

I think it's worth the risk for his price.. providing you have decent cover.

There's more upside with Arsenal's fixtures imo if you exclude GW37, and it gives you more cash to upgrade elsewhere. I personally think Gabriel will play again this season but that's just my gut feeling and it isn't based on much.

I wouldn't play him in 37 so it looks like I'd get one game out of him. Gabriel has potentially 2 cleanies if he gets back in the team.

Obviously might have been a strong word, but I'll expect the bench from Gabriel for the rest of the season.

2 clean sheets in the games with Mertesacker back.. Personally think we look a lot more organised with him in the team.

At a push I could see Gabriel starting against City to protect more from Aguero's pace but think Mertesacker will start the two home games.

Just sat down to review my FPL targets for the 3 remaining gw's.

Started the season off hoping for a top 10k finish (2k last year) but that was thwarted when I spent 8 weeks below 2 millionth place. Target was also to win Local League and 2 classic mini leagues plus the H/H league. OR was the most important factor though.

Steadily climbed up and now sit 36k (with 10 green arrows out of the last 11 gw's.) but I had banked everything on gw34 with 12 dgwers). This meant playing my wildcard in gw32 and TC in gw33 (this failed on Lukaku). In gw34 I got 125 points (my only red arrow since gw25) but another captain failure (Ozil). GW35 another captain failure (kane) although I did get 52 points.

Leading local league by over 200 points and already won H/H league with 2 weeks to go. So all efforts now (and transfers/hits) will be taken to protect my mini leagues. In one of my ML I have a lead of 115 points and everybody has played their major chips and wildcards. In the other I have a lead of 42 points over 2nd place and 100 over third place but 4th place has all his chips left but a 107 point deficit.

It would be ironic if I lost this league to my rival because of my poor playing of chips and his cleverness with the same. However as a player of FPL for ten years I do think that the introduction of chips has made the season more interesting despite my own failings with them. Hopefully I shall learn and make better use of them next year.

the few times I've had dealings with such companies they have really overthought their importance. If they are contacting me out of the blue about an opportunity, sure I'll have a quick chat with you if it sounds interesting, in advance of being put in front of the company, but I'm not jumping through hoops to show that I am worthy of your time - I have a job I don't need to deal with you, you need me.

Cool, I can definitely recommend trying somewhere else! To clarify I have worked with lots of good recruiters, just not so many good headhunters. The best route is always via your network but apply direct to companies you like the look of, and use some recruiters that are recommended.

    a) Coutiniho > Payet
    b) Pelle > Defoe

If I do b then I can do Alli > Payet next week and keep Cou for the DGW even though he'll probably only play 1 game. Its just whether you'd rather have Payet vs West Brom or Defoe vs Stoke.

I was planning on bringing back Aguero depending on tonights result. I'm leading one of MLs by 61. No-one has Aguero but have Sturridge. In my other ML I'm 2nd and need to make up 64 points, only have TC over my rival. He has Aguero but no Sturridge. Does it make sense to change my plan of Aguero and bring in Studge instead depending on Thurs result? Block rivals of the ML I'm leading and differential to try and catch guy in other ML?

Carroll on fixtures, Defoe on form. Overall if Carroll keeps his place (likely if he keeps scoring) he's a better option as he plays for a team that score more goals.

Try to take my murmurings seriously. How was the GW35 average so high? Also, anyone know why Pelle didn't start/come on against Villa? Makes no sense, this game.
