    Would you rather:

    A) Tadic (CPL)
    B) Giroud (AVL)
    C) Ozil (AVL)

    Cheers.

If you are chasing and looking for a differential, pick Giroud.

Otherwise, Ozil would be my choice out of those three.

However, it doesn't seem that way if you look at the dude who's top of the May league right now.

Everyone is buying him because he's dirt cheap. Maybe Del Bosque will let the champions league final decide. Think Mario edges him out due to his performances in the friendlies

Good morrow fine Sirs and good Ladies. Wouldst thou go hit crazy with this team of jesters and vagabonds? The line up doth look much like this and mine eyes do weep at the sight of it, for there be no hearty souls from Southampton, nor those of the Arse variety. Pray tell, what would thoust do, so that I may gain glorious advantage and sit in wonderment at my most marvellous achievement?

    Firmino Payet Hazard Lanzini iwobi
    Sturridge aguero Carroll

Firm Sturridge Haz Lanzini to Tadic Giroud, Sanchez and Mane for a -12?
    Bench iwobi?

If Liverpool finish in the top 7 and Man U win the cup, how does Europe work?

    Top 4 CL
    Liverpool CL
    6th and 7th Europa?

    1. Costa's Counsellor
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 2 months ago

Sorry, I mean what happens to 8th place?

We get three Europa places, right? Or does one go to let Liverpool into CL?

      1. Jazz!
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 2 months ago

        Huh.

If Pool win Europa; finish in the top 7 AND United win the FA Cup; finish in the top 7 then 5th, 6th and 7th get Europa.

Likely event: Pool win Europa, finish in the top 7 and United win the FA and finish 5th so same thing applies - 5th, 6th and 7th get Europa

        1. Jazz!
          • 11 Years

But Liverpool will be one of 5th, 6th or 7th and they will go into the CL.

Does that mean EL defers to 8th?

    2. Cruicky
      • 14 Years
      10 years, 2 months ago

Yep. 1st - 3rd CL Group Stage. 4th - CL Playoff. If Liverpool win EL, then also go to CL Group Stage.

FA Cup Winners - EL Group Stage, 5th Place - EL Group Stage. League Cup Winners - 3rd Qualifying Round.

If Utd finish 5th & win FA Cup, 6th go to EL Group Stage. If City finish top 4, League Cup place goes to 7th if Utd win FA Cup or 6th if they don't.

If Liverpool win EL and finish Top 7, Utd win FA Cup & finish Top 6 then next league place - 8th can get EL.

Yes. 5th + FA Cup Winners + League Cup Winners.

If those cup winners already qualify for Europe via league position, then that place is taken by next highest place team (usually 6th / 7th)

Actually no, I looked this up a few weeks ago with the UEFA rules. Each country can only have a maximum of 5UCL places (so if Man City had won the UCL and finished fifth and Liverpool the Europa League then the fourth placed team would go into the Europa League. After that, additional UCL places are at the expense of Europa League places so if Liverpool win the Europa League then there are only two places available, one to the FA cup winners and the other (as Man City will be at least 5th) to the 5th placed team. Therefore West Ham and Southampton must be hoping Liverpool lose the final.

            You are indeed correct.

Sevilla won the EL last season yet Spain only had 7 teams in Europe this year not 8.

So in fact if Liverpool win EL, 7th won't get EL.

Thinking Redmond -----> Tadic/ Mané/ KDB for free

Means I can bench Mahrez in case Ozil doesn't play against AVL.

Defence looks a bit ropey: Lovren (wba), Reid (sto), Simpson (che), Delaney (sou), Gabriel (AVL)

    DDG Forster

    Firmino Fabregas Ozil Payet Townsend
    Aguero Defoe Carroll

    Firmino + Fabregas > Sanchez + Davis (-4)?

I could see your logic, especially against a 2nd string Swansea team with no Ashely Williams.

I was a little tempted myself (more by Defoe than Carroll actually), but in the end went for the 'safe' Payet option on the premise that if Carroll did score it would probably be from a Payet ball in, and Andy alone was a big enough differential ' risk.

He's never been a prolific goal scorer...

Sky error - I brought in and captained Martial last night but the points haven't registered. I think this is because they haven't adjusted the kick off time to the delayed time. But the rules say "the earliest kick off time that day" rather than a set time deadline like FPL. Anyone else had this problem?

Not sure if my comment posted so will try again.

    Current team:

    Migs
    Bellerin Cresswell Smalling
    Mahrez Payet Sanchez Townsend
    Aguero Carroll Defoe

    subs: Robles, Fuchs, PVA, Hazard.

How about these moves, sound ok?

    Carroll + Hazard/Mahrez > Giroud + Mane/Tadic -4?

Yes, Carroll + Mahrez > Giroud + Mane -4 imo
