The day’s second Euro 2016 fixture finds Switzerland clash with Romania as they look for their second victory in Group A and secure progress into the knock-out phase.

In their 12 previous meetings this pairing are evenly matched, having recorded five wins apiece, with two draws. This is their first major tournament encounter since the 1994 World Cup, when Switzerland were coached by current England boss Roy Hodgson.

Switzerland, now managed by Vladimir Petković, racked up 15 goal attempts in their opening fixture, a 1-0 victory over Albania. However, with more than half of their shots failing to hit the target they looked far from impressive at times.

Beaten 2-1 by France in their opener, Anghel Iordanescu’s Romania are in dire need of a win to salvage their campaign and will need to go on the attack. They’ll do so without the talents of Nicolae Stanciu in midfield who, rather inexplicably, drops out of their lineup having impressed against the French.

I know this might be premature to ask, but after the fixture releases, are there any players which you have pencilled into your squad for the upcoming FPL season?

Got my mind set on a Kun + KDB double up, Middlesbrough defender or keeper, and Chelsea defender.

Interesting. I'm all set on that double up as well. Also getting some Palace assets with their fixtures might not be a bad idea.

    CL rules: http://www.uefa.com/news/newsid=2130221.html
    EURO rules: http://eurofantasy.uefa.com/en/fantasy16/rules

CL explicitly states that "Once the group stage is complete, each team will be given an additional €5m" and makes no mention of price rises.
Comparatively, EURO explicitly states that prices will increase after group stage and makes no mention of extra funds.

I think that, for those who didn't WC yet, trying to round up some 4m players from teams that look like not qualifying for knockouts is a good strategy for maximizing the level of quality you can select once the prises DO rise and you have unlimited transfers, as I don't think the game can force you to substitute them out, they just won't be placeable in the starting XI (or likely won't gather point, obviously).

the rules are very poorly written. we know nothing about price rises
for example, will the sell value of a player change if he rises in price while we own him?

Good idea but don't think it needs to be done as we should be able to get a decent bench within budget for the last 16 and then we get plenty transfers to sort out our team.

Albania: Berisha; Hysaj, Ajeti, Mavraj, Agolli; Kukeli, Xhaka, Abrashi; Roshi, Sadiku, Lenjani.

      So, 4-2-3-1 it is.

That Payet goal hid well how awfully badly it worked against Romania.

That Payet goal came out of nowhere, it was purely a difference made by individual quality. After Griezmann was subbed for Coman, France got into the box way less than before, created 0 good scoring chances, particularly 0 chances were created by Coman&Martial, and France 0 shots inside the box.

Before that, the chances were plethoric.

Maybe. He thrives behind the striker. But I think France may be less threatening in whole. Say, Giroud maybe not explosion imminent.

Some speculated this change to be made for defensive reasons, though, but in that case Pogba may be paying here for mistakes of Matuidi.

As Payet drifted to the centre, and gave up on his defensive duties, which still was fine as he created the outlet for cases forward and created the plays, Evra ran straight into the space left by Payet, and what Matuidi did was that instead of covering for Evra, he roamed up the pitch, being the highest up man of the midfield. Anybody with the membership can check the match average position map to see the results. It is no surprise why Romanians had over 50% of their attacks from their right flank.

Since Switzerland didn't lose, France can't afford to lose against them in any case, so Payet will play.

I know it may be a weird question but which defender from the Italian defence do we think is least prone to potentially being rested next week?

Giaccherini? Since he is OOP I wonder if there is a natural replacement for him.

There are quite a few I'm sure. Motta probably being one.

Was thinking this myself the other night, his passion is there for all to see. A cut above the other pundits so far.
