The Euro 2016 group stages now come to their conclusion this evening as Group E treats us to two final matches before the knockout Round of 16 gets underway on Saturday.

Group E winners Italy already know their fate.

Having won their first couple of fixtures, The Azzurri will battle Spain for a place in the last eight after the defending champions threw away a one-goal lead against Croatia last night.

With five regulars just one caution shy of a ban, there’s no surprise that Antonio Conte has made numerous alterations to his XI for the clash against the Republic of Ireland.

Martin O’Neill’s men are hoping to upset the odds and register a shock win to seal a place in the next stage, though they are clearly up against it here – the Italians have racked up back-to-back shut-outs and allowed their opponents just six shots inside the box, whilst Ireland have managed a mere four attempts on target.

Belgium and Sweden square up in the other fixture.

Marc Wilmots’ men bounced back from their opening loss to Italy with a resounding 3-0 win over Ireland and need only a draw to seal second place. Such a scenario would see them face the winners of Group F, Hungary, in the next round.

Given that the Swedes have yet to register a single attempt on target, The Red Devils look strong favourites to clinch a spot in the knockouts and send Zlatan Ibrahimovic and co. home early.

    Here's a good FPL tip.

When captaining Aaron Ramsey in the Euros don't laugh at your son, who's already ahead of you, when they still have captain Ronaldo to play. It's not worth it.

I'm enjoying this casual approach to euro fantasy.

R16 could be tricky. Thinking if betting on some 0-0s....Bonnuci, Giacherrini for example.

Definitely have to stick with my man Perisic.

        sorry but that's bollo*

no team wants to loose, momentum is important and I am sure every player playing today wanted to impress Conte and get themselves into the first eleven.

Ireland made a far few changes too, dropped their captain.

        doesn't matter, Italy's B team is better than Ireland's A team.

massive moment in Irish football history,

we were in the toughest group of the Euros and to progress is unreal. first time out of the group stages in our history. massive.

You wouldn't have played a B team otherwise. Really should have beaten Sweden but probably a blessing in disguise as Italy would have played a strong team & Ireland probably finishes with a negative GD and doesn't qualify.

I think it's pretty bitter to try and take this result away from Ireland.

It's only our second ever win in the Euros and first time through to last 16 in our entire history.

We beat Italy to do so, we can only beat the team in front of us and even with a "B" team they were still better man to man than Ireland.

We were a better team on the night than Sweden and Italy, and fell apart against Belgium. Managed to qualify to last 16 form the toughest group.

No one thought we would do what we have done. the best anyone gave us was a win against Sweden and 2 losses.

It's a historical moment for Ireland.

Tbf, this was really not the hardest group

Italy isn't from the same quality as it used to be a couple of years ago.

Sweden is just Ibrahimovic (who isn't in his best form lately as well)

Belgium (that's us) has a very talented squad but an awful manager which basically makes us a team of individuals rather than a 'team'.

Nevertheless, great performance from Ireland, amazing fans as well, great to have them in the next round as well!

Just see Ziegler's comment on the FPL opening time, looks like it could be 4th July. Source called it a day or two before last year, said there would be 3 chips and said Yaya would be a lot cheaper. So pretty reliable http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/13478496

    Quick question here:

Let's say I make my team tonight, will my rivals be able to see the players I bought before the deadline?

Will prices change overnight like in fpl or not?

Since we are getting unlimited transfers now, do we basically have a once-off team for RO16 if we still have our WC and plan to use it for QFs?

I think I'd gamble on the next 2 games, I see myself using my wildcard after the QF probably, if all the stronger teams on paper go through

Do we get rid of our swiss defence now? They have served us well.

      Depends who they play

Not as well as the Polish defence has though, and cheaper

How does the round of 16 game days work? Is it divided between the Saturday, Sunday and Monday? So we get 3 potential captain picks and leave the Monday players on bench?

Might go with triple Belgium there

Hungary and then Wales or N.Ireland

Thanks mate, I know the schedule, just wasn't sure if those 3 days counted as 1 game day or not.

Everybody so far mentions Bale as their expensive striker.

No love for Ronaldo? Or Croatia as opponents put you off?

Can't see any higher than 0.2 increase. Somehow Bale didn't go up in value, and Payet only 0.1 increase

Extra 5 mil in the bank. Seems generous as price rises are in 0.1 increments

It'll be cos there are less teams to choose from now though I suppose - a lot of the cheapos will have been knocked out.

Who are you putting in goal? I want to go with Rui Patricio and Sommer, but I don't think either of those teams will advance.

Any others that are appealing for a low price?
