The Euro 2016 knockout stages get up and running tomorrow, with a trio of matches for DraftKings managers to construct their eight-man teams around.

Fortunately, DraftKings allows us to take in the teamsheets before each fixture, adjusting our eight-man squads accordingly in order to seek out those potential last-minute bargains.

Switzerland and Poland get the action underway at 2pm. Runners-up of Group A and C respectively, the duo were unbeaten over their first three fixtures and scored two goals apiece, with the Poles one of only two sides yet to concede in the tournament.

At 5pm, Group B winners Wales take on Northern Ireland for a place in the last eight. Chris Coleman’s side clearly carry the greater threat – joint-top scorers in the group stages with six goals, they have fired more attempts on target than any side. Ireland, meanwhile, have allowed their opponents 61 efforts over the first three fixtures – no other side has conceded more.

In the late 8pm match, Croatia and Portugal go head to head. The former are regarded as dark horses for the tournament after coming from behind to beat Spain and clinch Group D, though the Portuguese won’t make it easy – Fernando Santos’ men have registered more attempts on goal than any country so far and notched three times against Hungary in their previous outing.

Here’s our selection of DraftKings targets to help guide your picks ahead of Saturday’s contests.

Matchday 4, Day 1 Picks

Darijo Srna – Croatia – $6800
The veteran full-back has been somewhat unfortunate not to play a part in any of Croatia’s five goals so far. Srna’s raids down the right produced 28 crosses over the group stages – top amongst defenders and better than any team-mate – whilst he’s also created six scoring opportunities for Ante Cacic’s side ahead of their showdown with Portugal.

Aaron Ramsey – Wales – $8400
Thriving in a central support role in Chris Coleman’s 3-4-2-1 set-up, the Wales midfielder’s all-round style of play is perfectly suited to DraftKings. Ramsey has served up a goal and two assists so far and, with corner kick duties in hand, is Wales’ number one for crosses. Given that he’s attempted more tackles than any player over the group stages, the Arsenal man will be difficult to ignore against Northern Ireland tomorrow afternoon.

Ivan Perisic – Croatia – $6400
With Srna and Ivan Rakitic providing the creativity, the right winger has played a significant part in Croatia’s progress to the knockout stages. After failing to net against Turkey in the group opener, Perisic has since produced two goals and an assist in the last couple of fixtures and fired eight efforts inside the box – more than any midfielder. With Mario Mandzukic struggling for form and fitness, Perisic’s eye for goal could prove the difference against Portugal.

Gareth Bale – Wales – $11100
The Wales attacker is joint-top scorer for the tournament so far, having found the net in all three group matches. Bale is thriving as his nation’s main attacking threat and has produced 12 attempts on target to date – that’s more than double all but one player in Euro 2016 so far. That sort of form makes him our pick of the premium-priced strikers as Chris Coleman’s side look to book their place in the final eight.

Arkadiusz Milik – Poland – $9500
Pre-tournament, many expected Robert Lewandowski to provide Poland’s main goal threat but the Bayern Munich man has been a bitter disappointment to date, failing to register a single shot on target. Milik, on the other hand, has looked far livelier than his strike partner. Having scored the winner against Northern Ireland, he’s produced more than double the number of shots and efforts inside the penalty box than any of Adam Nawalka’s side as they square up to Switzerland.

Nani – Portugal – $9200
A far more budget-friendly option than Cristiano Ronaldo ($12700), Nani is neck and neck with his team-mate on two goals apiece. Although Ronaldo’s tally of 30 attempts is top for the tournament, he’s offered less threat than Nani from close-range – indeed, the latter’s 12 shots inside the box is more than any player over the group stages. Opponents Croatia may be slight favourites but Portugal will be looking to hit on the counter and, as evidenced by their three-goal haul against Hungary, have the firepower to progress.

DraftKings contests for Saturday’s matches are now available, including a $4 entry “Sweeper” with a $15k prize pot.

DraftKings is available only to those aged 18 or over. Be sure to take note of their Terms and Conditions here.

How many people are really expecting returns from Alli (If he even starts) or Kroos?
Alli's not in terrific form and Kroos plays as one of the deepest players in the German attack. Are they really worth 2-2.5 more than a fodder who gets 1-3 points almost guaranteed?

Money could be well spent somewhere else, could be the difference between a Gomez -> Muller or a much better difference.
    Thoughts?

The more chances you have to get a brace the better it is, no? My mid is 7.5 or higher and I still got Muller and Bale in attack. They are plenty of cheap player in defence that can get a cs.

That's true, you could think of it that way.
But also, what if Alli doesn't even start? And you've basically threw away 2.0

Well I personally don't have them. However I did consider Kroos because he plays for Germany and is on set pieces.

Agree about Kroos. Got him on WC and watched closely against NI. He was too far from the goal and had no shoots.

Alli will have chances and worth investing I think. But have no places in my mid for him unfortunately.

I will take my chance, fodder more likely to go out and cost me a transfer. I fancy England to advance and get many chances v Iceland.

Looks like alli will start as the team that played v russia first game is likely to be the one woy picks

Interesting, if he is expected to start, I'll find a way to fit him in as well.
Regarding a 4.5 fodder being a transfer down the road, as the competition progresses, usually teams with expensive players are left and maybe you would want a cheap fodder to keep around in order to maximize funds in the rest of your team (Example: instead of going with Kimmich or Khedira, etc.)

well, I am just going by what people are saying

of course still many hours to go and I may take him out if I feel he is too much of a risk. Honestly, I don't really think he's a great pick but I want someone to play in attack v iceland and he is cheap and fits the price range for my team

I am going to think about this more for sure, very interesting point you raised. For now happy with alli

OK, first ever post so be gentle. Still got WC so team really just for this round:

Neuer Fabianski (or Scez if starting)
Hector Meunier Dier (c3) Rami Chester
Ramsey KDB Perisic Payet (c2) Alli
    Bale (c1) Muller Milik

    £1.3m ITB

Any upgrades or changes worth considering?

Why save money when you have Wildcard? You should upgrade Meunier rather.

    Hennessey, Hart
    Chester, Hector, Rami, Walker, Meunier

If this was your defence, would you hedge your bets and go with Fabianski instead of Hennessey as I already have Chester?

    Wildcard still intact.

I'd leave Meunier out for Jed rather. Belgium seems likely concede imo.

No, since you have your WC I'd take some risks like double Wales def. 🙂

What would the biggest punt for a guy with the WC left and making a team just for the round?
    A - Triple Welsh
    B - Triple German
    C - Triple French
    D - specify.

      C
Mostly everyone without are getting 2/3 welsh. And 2/3 germans are common as well. Payet and Rami are obvious picks. But getting 3 in like Pogba seems a decent shout

      Other Punts are:
      Kdb and Haz both
      Rakitic and Perisic
      Alli/Kane
      Ronaldo(C)
      Dzsudzsak

    Current draft.

    Neuer McGovern
    Hector Rami Dier Jedrez Pazdan
    KDB Payet Perisic Ramsey Alli
    Ronaldo Muller Milik

    0.3m itb.

Would you switch a Polish defender to a 4.9m Walker?
If Walker doesn't start on the last day, could be trouble.

    Thanks.

Since you have Alli and Dier its not that necessary, I'd rather have Chester instead of 1 Polish defender. And then 13/15 players would match with me except the Gks 🙂

Which one to go for :

    A- Giroud and Rami
    B- Lukaku and Walker

I have Payet and KDB in midfield

      B. Because Giroud isn't a good option

I think Ireland has a good chance to surprise France here. France may pull out this round, but I see a very hard fought 1-0 victory here. And Giroud has been poor in the group stages don't think he could improve.

Disagree there, scored in the first game, hit the post in the second one and didn't play in the last game. He still is way better than Gignac.

I'm quite low on points (142) but haven't used my WC yet

    Neuer, Hennessy

    Dier, Hector, Rami, Jedrzej, Meunier

    Hazard, Payet, Perisic, Rakitic, Kroos

    Muller, Bale, Giroud

Since you are low on points you could go with some massive differentials for this round as you have wildcard to play. Like,
      Ronaldo
      KDB Haz both
      Pogba
      Ozil
      Milik
      Double Poland/Wales def
      Kane/Alli or both
