Dugout Discussion – Hungary vs Belgium

Sunday’s third and final fixture sees Hungary and Belgium do battle for the right to take on Wales in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals.

Having bounced back from an opening loss to Italy with wins over Republic of Ireland and Sweden, Belgium are regarded as favourites for the top half of the draw.

The Red Devils were placed fourth for shots on goal over the group stages, though found the net on just four occasions with big-hitters Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard yet to open their accounts in the tournament.

Bernd Storck’s side will be no pushovers, though. Despite firing far less attempts than their opponents across the first three matches (35 to 56), Hungary registered just one attempt on target fewer, firing 16 to Belgium’s 17.

Joint-top scorers with Wales for the group stages, their three-goal salvo against Portugal last time out certainly suggests this evening’s match could be tighter than many expect.

No KDB assist? Because Hazard "dribbled" it and made the goal himself?

I guess it means I no longer have the difficult decision whether or not to captain Morata against an obdurate Italian defence.

No assist is given to a player who creates his own goalscoring opportunity (e.g. solo run/dribble).

Or that is about the scorer isn't it. kDB will get his assist then.

He would have been given it by now, I hink as Hazard took the ball quite a distance beating a few players, this counts as a solo run/dribble

A player will be credited with a goal assist when he delivers/plays the final pass, cross, header or shot which leads to the goal being scored.

So he should get an assist....
