The third quarter-final of Euro 2016 gets underway at 8pm this evening as Germany and Italy go head-to-head in Bordeaux.

Having won three and drawn one of their four fixtures, Joachim Lowโ€™s side are the favourites for tonightโ€™s encounter and warmed up for this one with a 3-0 hammering of Slovakia last time out.

Delving into the data, Germany certainly carry the greatest threat. The World Champions lead their opponents for attempts on goal by a massive 83 to 36, though have scored just one more time than Antonio Conteโ€™s troops and netted a mere 7.2% of their scoring opportunities. Italy, on the other hand, have been far less wasteful and boast a 13.9% conversion rat,e which is the third highest in the tournament.

At the back, both sides have been hugely impressive. Indeed, Germany are the only side yet to concede and have allowed their opponents a mere seven shots inside the penalty box so far.

The Azzurri, though, have been breached on just one occasion – a 1-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland where Conte made eight changes to his XI.

Having sent defending champions Spain crashing out in the previous round, a buoyant Italy are more than capable of causing another upset and clinching a place in the last four alongside Portugal and Wales.

Turns out my swap to Ozil (c) didn't go through and it stayed on Bale...

    Swap to Griezmann or Payet?

Have no other option for Sf I have to do one of this please choose :

    A) Triple up German Def
    B) Triple up French Def
    C) Double up Welsh Def
    D) Double up Por Def

    Currently thinking between A & C.

    This will be me:

    ----------------Hennessey------------
    Chester Boateng Kosc Guerriero
    ---------Sanches Payet Ozil---------
    -----------Bale Ronaldo Nani--------
    --------------------------------------------
    -Lloris Draxler Hector Ramsey(!)-

    After these 6 fts;

    Giacherrini > Kosc
    Jedrzezcek > Boateng
    Meunier > Hector
    KDB > Sanches
    Blas > Ozil
    Lukaku > Nani

How's that look? 2.8 itb. Any better suggestions?

Do you think the Premier league site is going to open before the actual FPL game opens? For instance the new site opens this Monday the 4th but FPL doesn't open until the next Monday the 11th? If so, when would we register for our FPL ID's? The 4th or 11th?

Need some help with this scenario lads. Currently I'm leading my league with 233 points, my competitor has 232. He's captaining Payet, and has Payet(c) and Griezmann remaining. I captained Hector, and I have Payet, Giroud, and Koscielny remaining. Should I switch to Payet to cancel out any potential explosions while in the process losing five points, and then hope that Koscielny and Giroud outscore Griezmann by five points or more? Or stick with Hector(c)?

I can see why. The best way to beat an opponent is to forget that they exist and play normally in my experience.

If you play in a manner to try to beat them things will remain on a knife edge.

It is only a 3 point assist you are losing any way not a lot of points. Worth the risk

Hey guys new to the site. Just wanted to gauge opinions, for the McDonalds Euro game when would you use your wildcard if you still had/have it? Providing France go through I will be able to get 14 players out there for the semis with just FTs however I feel as though maybe using Wildcard could be worth it in order to put out a more rounded team. Any replies appreciated.

We have a 2 point lead. I prefer our differentials myself but who knows?

I mailed the spreadsheet to Slamdog. He may have mailed it on?

      Otherwise

      Lloris 2 2 0
      Sagna 1 1 0
      Umtumi 2 1 1
      Koscielny 0 1 -1
      Payet 4 2 2
      Pogba 0 2 -2
      Matuldi 0 1 -1
      Griezmann 3 0 3
      Giroud 0 1 -1
      Players Remaining 12 11

      Points so far 128 126

We each have one person who captained Hector who may be tempted to stick on captaincy or not. The other players are all likely to twist as they got 2 points

What's been your favorite film to come out this year thus far? The Witch is definitely mine. It's been time for a more in-depth horror/thriller movie to come out, as most just rely on a bare-bones possession story or just fall victim to horror tropes & cheap, undeserved jump-scares. The Witch does not disappoint.

I want to see that when I get the opportunity.
I have only been to the cinema a couple of times this year unfortunately. I did like Star Wars though

Hmm. I don't to rank things like that. It was a worthwhile watch came out feeling entertained. Maybe some of the storylines were a bit convenient.

If pushed around the same level as ROTJ

Felt the same about the plot tbh ie conveniences. I understand why they did it & why there were so many echoes to original trilogy, but some things felt a bit predicable. Still an excellent film though.

Woah, that's some praise! Can't wait to see where they take the rest of the trilogy now that they're not encumbered with fanservice.

I like the films but I would never class myself as a huge fan. I always thought ROTJ was quite a lot weaker than the first two. Those Ewoks are fairly annoying at least the new one was unencumbered by irritating sidekicks.

The fight sequence with the ewoks is very annoying and very silly

No Ewok love ๐Ÿ˜ฅ They were so fun though, don't tell me you wouldn't want an Ewok sidekick in real-life!

I think if you were a small child you may have liked them.

An Ewok butler would be great in real life of course. If Wicket brought me a beer when I cam home at night and wandered around the house serving people that would be awesome

              Of all time?

I have to say I like the clasics more than some of the contemporary ones.

The Exorcist for me is just great (maybe my favourite of all genres) and I love Don't Look Now as well

I think I saw that one in the cinema. I enjoyed it but thought it tailed off toward the end. (often a problem in horror imo promising concepts which just don't know where to go)

Of recent ones I thought Unfriended was pretty good. It had an interesting concept and it didn't bottle it at the end.

I would lobve to go back to the first occasion of watching some of these things. I remember watching a copy of Nightmare on Elm street when I was around 10 at a friends house and it was terrifying. Still love it despite the terrible effects

I think I was to young for it really.

I seem to remember my first experience of cannabis was at another friends house when I was a teenager watching the evil dead. But those films were never really scary anyway

I guess there's a big recency bias there ๐Ÿ˜† The Shining would probably top It Follows for me if you'd consider it a horror. I just can't think of many horror/thriller films that have completely engulfed me in their worlds & captivated throughout the whole film like those (The Witch) did.

Classic for sure, I love it as well. Never seen Don't Look Down, but I'm guessing it holds up well if you rate it so high!

Don't get me wrong I like old and new ones. The Thing I love the Thing as well. It has to be the Kurt Russell version though and Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland.
If you have missed any of these and fancy a good horror you haven't seen give them a shot. Not yo mention the David Cronenberg version of The Fly

Oh damn, you're hammering these home. The Thing was so good, absolutely hated the new one I must say. Haven't heard of any of the rest though, Will check those out for sure, mate.

If you're still trying to see some good horror/thriller, I'd go with: The Babadook, The Descent, Let the Right One In, Let Me In, Kairo, The Orphanage, The Devil’s Backbone, The House Of The Devil, Cabin in the Woods, & The Mist (black & white version on the deluxe blu-ray)

Guessing you've seen some of these but in case you haven't, Would highly recommend any of them, all push the horror envelope

I could give you a very long list of horrors. But like you I find good ones far between now.

I don't know why but somehow I did like the Saw films. Ridiculous but strangely enjoyable
