The quarter-finals stage of Euro 2016 conclude this evening as France and Iceland go head-to-head in the Stade de France.

After falling behind to early spot-kicks last time out, both sides chalked up 2-1 comeback wins over Republic of Ireland and England rrspectively, though it’s fair to say that Les Bleus are firm favourites for the 8pm clash.

Bearing in mind that Iceland’s average of 28.9% possession is less than any team in the tournament, we can expect France to dominate proceedings tonight as their opponents sit back and soak up the pressure.

Didier Deschamps’ troops have registered more than double the number of attempts on goal (75 to 31) as their opponents, though the hosts have managed just 22 shots on target to the Scandinavians’ 14. Indeed, Iceland have matched France’s six goals for the tournament so far thanks to an eye-catching 19.4% conversion rate – the highest of any side in Euro 2016.

At the back, the numbers again lean towards the French. Iceland have conceded an effort every 4.8 minutes – that’s quicker than any other team – and have allowed their opponents 79 attempts on goal to France’s 30.

Despite conceding just four times, then, the underdogs face a tough task to upset the form book yet again and clinch a place in Thursday’s semi-final against Joachim Low’s World Champions.

Have Hazard and KDB to get rid of and that will be for players of less value so will probably just upgrade Umtiti with one of the free transfers.

For those with wildcard left are you using it for the semis or keeping for the final? After six transfers I will have two blankers which is fine so might keep.

You need only 11 players for the final, no point keeping it.

Not sure myself, thinking my 6 transfers should be enough for the semis, and then maybe for the final I could use it as I could make transfers to bring in the cheapest remaining players to have a stellar 11.

If I do it for the semis, then I'll be splitting my players as I can't call the semis then I could well need more than 6 transfers just to get an average team out.

      I'll probably keep

But if your top of ML with a lot of money at stake, you don't need to differentiate! I'm happy to play it safe then go big in the final, I doubt I'll be caught now and I need the money!

it's great that iceland managed to score a couple of goals here. a 5 nil thrashing would have been the lasting memory, being embarrassed after doing so well up to now. fair enough they've been totally outclassed but they can go home with heads held high now

I'm thinking Germans vs France. France get that nervousness in big games like they did against Romania and when they struggled to break the deadlock vs Albania. Their defence is their weak link. I'm not hugely convinced Pogba and Matuidi will outplay Kroos/Schweiny/Khad

WC is still burning a hole in my pocket but I reckon with 4 tfs I can do Meunier, KDB, Giaccherini and Rambo out leaving Hennessy, Neuer, Chester, Hector, Rami, RSanchez, Draxler?, Payet, Griezeman, Bale and Mueller... should I? More tfs for the final so is it worth going before semi's or final?
