We continue our series of members’ articles, which review the numbers behind the 2015/16 season, with a look at Southampton.

To get underway, we assess the Saints’ team statistics in Ronald Koeman’s final year in charge and compare them to the rest of Premier League, before analysing their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the upcoming campaign.

The Saints finished in sixth position after embarking on a superb run of form that harvested seven wins and a draw in the final nine league fixtures.

    How come nobody's looking at Phil Jones as a cheap way into the United defence? Lots of reports that he will be either the favoured partner to smalling in the centre (with Bailly as a young back up to grow this season) or even as an Ivanovic-esque figure at right back?

        Mkhitaryan is 27 and has more experience but Martial is more of a goalscorer and is at his second PL season while this is the first for Mkhitaryan. Both great options, though.

    I really wanted to have Daniels in my team but his fixtures are just plain bad. Also, i thought Gray was going to be priced at 5.5 and not 6.5 which is way too much, especially with those fixtures.
