Start three and bench two for my GW2 defense?

    Terry, Amat, McAuley, Stones, Morgan

Please write why as well 🙂

      Coin toss Stones/McAuley

      100% bench Morgan

Dunno about Liverpool. This is the kind of game they struggle with, Burnley don't make for high scoring free flowing games. I had firmino captain gw 1, it would annoy me greatly if I captained someone else and firmino scored two.

I'd look elsewhere for captaincy options in GW2. Firmino's in my team too, but there are less risky choices.

Yeahhh I know...aguero. Don't think my captain ever comes off. The best FPL time I had was with Suarez and Sturridge. I was early on that.

    Stones Shaw Amat

    Firmino Hazard Pogba Deulofeu

    Long Aguero (c) Negredo

    Bench: Redmond Friend Morgan

    Thoughts on my current team:

Save transfer and watch Wijnaldum this GW. I know he got an assist last week, but I'm not sure how much you can rely on that for 8.0.

Next GW, use two FTs to sort out Lingard and Wijnaldum, if needed.

Don't own Zlatan.. Would you captain Martial over Aguero? Or is too early for risks and just stick to the safe option (Who will be a little more differential this week anyway because of Zlatan (C))?

    1. wander
      • 10 Years

I don't think anyone in the world would captain martial over kun this weekend.

Well maybe some mental united fans who think they actually looked good v Bournemouth when in fact they got 2 lucky goals.

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 11 months ago

United, City, Spurs, Chelsea look like the 4 best teams to consider for a captain this week.

United v Bournemouth: 11 attempts, 7 on target
City v Sunderland: 16 attempts, 4 on target
Spurs v Everton: 13 attempts, 4 on target
Chelsea v WHam: 16 attempts, 6 on target

Shots on target is generally considered the most accurate one stat indicator for expected goals. United come out best on GW1 and the stats don't suggest they were especially lucky. 😕

FFF does things like that. All algorithm and no intelligence. 🙂

The trouble with betting against Aguero is you have to get 2 things right. First you have to pick a week where he doesn't score (or at least a week where he doesn't get more than 6 points). Then you have to pick an alternative that does better than him (which probably means 1 goal 1 assist or better). You can't win otherwise.

Unless there is a good reason to back against Aguero - for example when he is coming back from injury or if he's playing deeper/wider in a 4-4-2 (which won't happen under Pep) - it's a losing game I think. The gains in the good weeks are unlikely to outweigh the losses in the bad weeks.

    2. Ruth_NZ
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 11 months ago

Martial looks like a really decent pick. 9.5m just seems a touch high to me. But maybe he'll be worth it. I still think Rooney at 9.0 is the value but the perception is that he's past his best at 30. I don't know.

Anyway, not captaining Aguero in his current form just seems unwise. I'd like to give Costa the armband but what can you do? Backing against Aguero right now is a mug's game I think.

I find it quite baffling that people are over looking Kane for this gameweek.

He was top scorer last year and is being overlooked because he started slow last year and dembelle.

Kane to bang in 2 this weekend wait and see

One goal in ten games without Dembele.

No shots at all against Everton, once again without Dembele.

He may well bang in two goal, but the odds are stacked against him without the influential Belgian.

Everton blank was that the 3 Everton CBs crowded him out in a 3 v 1 scenario. They did the same to Zlatan in Rooney's testimonial. nothing to do with dembele

Dembele has the creativity that could've broken down that defence. It's simplistic to say that 3 CBs will always nullify a central striker

He wasn't starting in the team at the start of that season so he did not start slow at all.

He kept banging in goals in Europe and then was brought into the team for epl

            9 years, 11 months ago

My reply is to Jonty. Kane scored fine without Dembele in the team then. There are slight truths in Dembele-theory because Mason and Carroll are 💩 but he completely over-eggs it.

    Hi,
I’d very much appreciate advice for GW2, thanks.
I had Ramsey for GW1 (a gamble that obviously didn't pay off) and was going to use my 1FT to sub him out for Lallana or Cazorla (I originally wanted Coutinho but then Ramsey fell to 7.9 and Coutinho rose to 8.1) but now I think I’ll make do with the team I have and keep the FT for next week. What do you think?
    My team:
    Valdes (DDG)
    Stones, Fuchs, Valencia (Friend, Djilobodji)
    Oscar, Lamela, Tadic, Ramirez (Ramsey)
    Vardy, Aguero, Long

Will Bertrand start on Friday, or will Tragett play?

    I'm going Firmino (c)

Burnley don't have to concede a lot for him to do well. A single goal in a 1-0 Liverpool win is likely to see him come away with 10-11 points.

Burnley's defence is nowhere good enough to hold against Liverpool's attack . Barcelona couldn't do it in preseason, Arsenal couldn't do it last week.

Firmino has been very unfortunate not to come away with a goal or assist last weekend, and if he did, we would be bigging up his prospects a lot more.

Absolutely. Would actually rather have him playing deeper making runs off Origi than up front too.

I believe in Firmino, but what about Aguero away to Stoke? Scored three goals and missed two penalties two days ago.

        Against Steaua though?

We've yet to see if City's away form in the PL has improved from last season, and I don't fancy testing the theory away to Stoke. They have a history of upsetting Man City (don't think they've ever won a game at the Britannia) and if he does happen to score, I can't see more than 1 goal

New manager and new players, though. My biggest concern would be fitness, considering he will have played 3 games in 1 week, including a trip to Romania.

    Ibrahimovic - Agüero - Musa

Subs: Townsend - Evans - Friend

I have a lingering feeling Townsend will produce versus Sprus

I would really appreciate some transfer advise. I am using the WC after 2 injuries and horrible defence.
    I am wandering between:
    3-4-3 with
    eriksen firmino barkley martial (fletcher)
    diomande ibra aguero

    or
    3-5-2 with
lamela firmino barkley martial + 6.5 midfielder
    ibra aguero

    any advice is welcome !
