The first of 10 Friday night kick-offs of the 2016/17 season gets underway as Man United play host to Southampton at 8pm.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic carries the armband hopes of many heading into Gameweek 2. Second only to Sergio Aguero in this week’s captain poll, another big display from the Swede this evening should continue the bandwagon that’s already earned him in excess of 45% ownership.

There’s also the small matter of Paul Pogba to consider. Having served a one-match ban last weekend, the Frenchman is poised for a second debut and has been named in the hosts’ first XI.

Having emerged victorious from Old Trafford in each of the last two seasons, the Saints will be hoping to take up the role of part poopers once again as Jose Mourinho prepares for his first home match in charge of the Red Devils.

Claude Puel’s side stuttered to a 1-1 home draw against Watford last time out, though produced more attempts on goal that any side in Gameweek 1.

Dusan Tadic created more chances than any other player in the opening round of fixtures, whilst Nathan Redmond’s 75,000 new owners will be looking for a repeat of last week’s goal and subsequent two-point haul against the Hornets.

    Can Vardy avoid price drop tonight ..
    fplstats still shows him @ -73.
    I feel he will come good tomorrow and price would not drop..

      My logic is I will give Vardy until the Swansea game by that stage if he does nothing I will sell him for Benteke who should be at about 7.3m at that stage.

      Price changes are funny though sometimes you have to chase them as the price risers are invariably the form players.
      Hopefully it will settle down after a few weeks I got Snodgrass in for Feghouli to save myself .2 hopefully.

    trying to stay strong here, i'm not going to budge this evening anyway. that said utd look like they're back, crying out for investment. not 100% on zlatan tho, and that may prove a hell of a differential yet (or backfire spectacularly)

      Well done Ibra owners. Lets not LOL at others as still games to go tomorrow 🙂 Vardy and Aguero could easily get a brace to level the points. Either way Vardy is gone for Ibra as Hull next could be a mauling.

          Is this website accurate now? Start of season algorithm cracking takes time + last season the little time I did get looking at price rises people were saying this and totalfpl weren't that reliable anymore.

          Disastrous night if not having Ibrahimovic not bad enough but after choosing Valencia over Shaw for his assist potential. Shaw gets soft assist for the penalty. This following Tadic over Redmond last week and Tadic being awful tonight. Not to mention leaving 26 points on the bench last week. Arghh!!!!!!
