Sadio Mane goes into Liverpool’s trip to Burnley as a doubt following a shoulder injury in training. Arsene Wenger will be without both Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi for the trip to Leicester City, while Mark Hughes confirms that Jack Butland won’t be risked against Manchester City. Here’s a summary of the known teams news so far…

Ryan Bertrand remainssidelined for Southampton’s trip to Old Trafford this evening due to an ongoing knee complaint. Claude Puel has confirmed that Jose Fonte is in contention to start after stepping up his fitness in training this week.

Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Alex Iwobi (thigh) have been ruled out until after the international break after they were forced off injured against Liverpool last weekend. Arsene Wenger has conceded he may have to gamble on the fitness of Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud, though won’t start all three. The Gunners boss revealed that Koscielny is the likeliest of the trio to feature in his first XI.

Eddie Howe has confirmed he has “no major concerns” on the injury front as Bournemouth make their way to West Ham on Sunday.

Club record signing Steven Defour could be in line for a start at home to Liverpool, reckons Sean Dyche. Ashley Barnes remains sidelined due to a hamstring injury, whilst the on-loan Jon Flanagan cannot face his parent club.

Mark Hughes has this morning ruled Jack Butland out of a return against Manchester City, whilst Glen Johnson also remains sidelined with a thigh complaint. Shaqiri is also a concern after suffeirng a calf problem in the 1-1- draw with Middlesbrough on the opening day.

Alan Pardew has also updated us this morning with news that both Joe Ledley and Wayne Hennessey are “fitness concerns” ahead of the trip to White Hart Lane. The Eagles boss also indicated that Yohan Cabaye, Jordon Mutch, and James McArthur would likely travel having missed the season opener with West Brom.

Chris Smalling and Paul Pogba are back in contention after serving out one-match suspensions, though Jose Mourinho has admitted that the latter is unable to play 90 minutes due to a lack of match fitness. Jesse Lingard is also available after recovering from a foot problem.

Hugo Lloris is sidelined with a hamstring injury as Spurs welcome Palace to the Lane. Mousa Dembele sits out the fourth of a six-match ban, whilst Heung Min Son has returned from the Olympics and will be assessed.

Sadio Mane remains doubtful for Liverpool’s trip to Burnley with a shoulder injury sustained in training. James Milner and Daniel Sturridge are back in full training, whilst Lucas also has a chance of making it. Mamadou Sakho has stepped up his recovery but is expected to miss out again.

Ronald Koeman will make a late decision on Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Williams’ fitness for Everton’s trip to the Hawthorns. The Belgian returned to full training yesterday without any problems, whilst Williams has stepped up his match fitness over the past week. Seamus Coleman remains absent, though Yannick Bolasie is in line for a debut.

Swansea’s record signing Borja Baston is sidelined with a minor thigh problem. Neil Taylor is likely to miss out again as he builds up his fitness, whilst Leon Britton (illness) is doubtful. Ki Sung-yeung is back in contention to face Hull, with Francesco Guidolin hinting at a start for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Hard, Spurs have the better fixture this week and Southampton next week. They could easily smash Sunderland and I rate he bloke so I'd go for Tadic

Lamela is cheaper and plays for a better side. He's a good way into having a Spurs attacker.

On the other hand, Tadic is central to Southampton attack whereas Lamela isn't.

It's six and two threes at the moment but I do expect Tadic to get more points.

My front line is Aguero Gray Vardy
    0.0 ITB

    A) Vardy to Rooney (to get in on the MUN attacking action)
    or
    B) Gray to Carol (nice WHU fixtures, I don't have Payet)

    Advice gratefully appreciated.

8.5 is a great price bracket. Alli, Eriksen, firmino. Not to mention being 0.5 from silva, nolito, mane, sterling, coutinho. Could be a lot of easy switches to Pogba if he does anything at all

Can't see him outscoring Eriksen, Tadic, Lamela, Barkley, players like that so reckon he's a mill over-priced. At this stage though this is complete guesswork.

It seems a lot of people have already decided Pogba won't be a great fpl asset because we are guessing he'll play in the pivot, but what happens if he starts scoring points like Ramsey did in the same role a couple seasons ago? Do you then get him in or ignore it and hope it doesn't continue?

Just curious as it seems most here are really convinced already he won't be a good fpl player.

      Thoughts on this?

    Aguero, Benteke, Diomande

Yes, particularly when Tekkers won't start straight away and may take a while to find form and fitness.

I can see them bringing him straight in, I don't think the deal will go through before tomorrows game, but I expect him to play GW3, especially if Palace have lost their first two games (assuming Spurs beat them tomorrow)

        1. Lucy.

            9 years, 6 months ago

Yeah for sure, just think Palace won't have much choice but to put him straight in.

Not sure how much we can count on him, Zaha, and Townsend are both quite selfish players I feel, hope he does well though.

              • 10 Years
              9 years, 6 months ago

That could be a problem. They both like to dribble and attack rather than abiding by the proven success of just plopping the ball on Benteke's head. There are alternatives though as downgrading Alli to Lamela would give me the cash to either have Costa instead of Benteke or change Diomande with 6.6m in the bank?

              1. HamezMace
                • 11 Years
                9 years, 6 months ago

Lots of good options, too early in the season to give you the answer to that I'm afraid, we're all waiting for a 6.5m forward to emerge as the favourite.

Alli, or Lamela could go either way...I'm reluctant to invest in a Spurs midfield with CL rotation to deal with this season, and more signings to come at WHL.

I think Tekkers brings Puncheon well and truly onto the radar. Should play in the no. 10 and can assist and score goals.

This was my thinking. And then he has the international break to potentially either play games or work on his fitness. I could downgrade Alli to Lamela and have 6.6m to change Diomande to someone like Negredo, Carroll etc.?

Fair enough I don't rate him, but he was fitting in well with the system Sunderland were playing at the back last season. I thought he was quite a key component to their defence at times.

Utd clean sheet 50%... chances of Redmond being involved in goal if Southampton score 33% so 33% of 50% = 17%

    Evans Stones Valencia Friend

Who would you bench? (bearing in mind I have Foster in goal)

I'm currently on the WBA double up with Friend on the bench but is this not wise?

Thank you. I can find no link to it on FFS home page. There used to be one.

          No probs man.

Mark will edit it and produce an audio only version for the article. That's what you normally find on the home page I think.

Hi folks, i missed the first game and just made a team.

    Foster (Boruc)
Stones - McAuley - Kingsley (Chambers - Amat)
Pogba - Coutinho - Lallana - Mahrez (Capoue)
    Ibrahimovic - Aguero - Negredo

Any obvious change to make ?

0.5 ITB so hesitate to do Lallana -> Cazorla

I love your midfield simply because it's different. Good luck and save the transfer.

Negredo fumbled it into the net, there are better more promising options out there like Llorente and Gray...
