Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs Arsenal

Saturday evening comes to a conclusion at the King Power as champions Leicester go head-to-head with Arsenal.

Both sides are already playing catch-up after losing their opening matches of the season.

Claudio Ranieri welcomes back Robert Huth from suspension after conceding twice to Hull last weekend. The Foxes boss also opts to recall Shinji Okazaki and Marc Albrighton as Ahmed Musa and Demarai Gray drop to the bench. New signing Nampalys Mendy comes in for Andy King in the centre of the park.

Arsenal, meanwhile, bring in Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Granit Xhaka and Laurent Koscielny as they attempt to bounce back from Sunday’s home loss to Liverpool. Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud are deemed fit enough to take their places on the bench.

    1. How nailed is Caroll for the next 8 weeks or so?
    2. Is Love at Sunderland nailed?
    3. Is Kone still expected to go to Everton?
    4. What is the consensus on Stones? Keep or drop?

        Agree with this. Carroll I'd say his nailed as long as he is fit.

      I can't really comment on the first three with any certainty but I'd guess that Carroll is fairly set in place.

      In terms of Stones, I plan on keeping. At the end of the day, City will keep a good number of clean sheets this season, and he's the cheapest, nailed option therein. His lack of goal threat is... unfortunate, but at £5m I think I'm okay with a points ceiling between 6-8 points as long as it's fairly regular. Just what I witnessed, but City didn't look like conceding in either of their matches so far. I'm fairly sure Caballero will have faced very few shots on target and made very few saves.

      He could still go to Everton but it's not clear
      Definitely drop, Pep is far from being a defensive master and Stones doesn't have any attacking returns in him.

      Lamela. Sharing set pieces with Eriksen and actually is better at them than him. Having bigger impact than both Alli and Eriksen in first two games.

    Thinking about Firmino, Hojbjerg to Redmond, Snodgrass and rotate my mids or Firmino + a defender to Redmond and a 5.5 defender.

      Honestly wouldn't want to change much about your team. If you do what you say you'll leave yourself with a benching headache every week.

      Potentially Lamela -> Redmond and significantly upgrade one of your defenders?
