The clamour for Zlatan Ibrahimovic has gathered pace.

Manchester United’s summer signing has risen to second spot in our Watchlist forward rankings off the back of his 13-point return in last night’s 2-0 win over Southampton.

Having doubted Ibrahimovic’s early promise, there have been two notable changes to swing our opinion.

The Swede is now confirmed as United’s spot-kick taker having planted the ball past Fraser Forster for the second goal.

More importantly, Paul Pogba’s impact on United was almost immediate and seemed to transform the whole dynamic of the team.

Ibrahimovic was no longer dropping deep to lend his presence to midfield areas and enjoyed more time in and around the penalty area to feed off a supply from out wide.

The reconnaissance mission on Jose Mourinho’s side is over now that Pogba is in the machine – we’ve seen enough to decide that Ibrahimovic will see plenty of the ball in the right areas, picking up the goals and assists to warrant his price tag.

Indeed, his price is now driving the recruitment drive.

Ibrahimovic has already seen a hike overnight – a further increase prior to Gameweek 3 or soon after would seem likely if both Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane fail to produce today.

More significantly, the Swede will face Hull City away next weekend – if he delivers points again in that encounter his stock will be sky high heading into the international break.

We’ve seen in previous seasons how a strong bandwagon can accelerate during this window of 13 days without a deadline to stall price changes.

Conversely, both Vardy and Kane will likely suffer further drops in this period, unless they can stem the tide with points, either today or in their Gameweek 3 encounters.

Kane, in particular, will endure a significant decline in stock should he blank against Palace and show evidence that he’s dropping back into midfield areas.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    This week's knee-jerks...

Vardy to Ibra is the big forward move. Ibra has 37k transfers in so far (in less than a day) and Vardy 13k transfers out. Kane is also being switched out for Ibra.

The other main forward moves are Long and Gray out (both more than 4k transfers out and from a much lower base ownership). Carroll, Rondon and Negredo are being favoured. But these are at much lower levels than the Ibra bandwagon.

In the midfield it's still all about the Coutinho train (18k transfers in) but with Redmond, Pogba and Lamela also having takers. Mkhitariyan, Mané, Tadic, Ramsey, Ayew, Alli and Eriksen are among those making way.

Looks like this is where most of the Ibra money is being found. Sideways moves like Tadic to Redmond (3rd most popular transfer) or Alli to Lamela (6th most popular) would make less sense otherwise.

Less activity on defenders. Morgan, Fuchs, Bellerin, Azpi, Toby, Sagna and VVD are among those losing ground, mainly for cheaper defenders like Stones, Kingsley, Amat and Collins. These also look like Ibra moves.

In addition, Shaw has had a whole slew of transfers in (11k) since yesterday. Probably the only defender move that isn't largely driven by the need to finance Ibra.

It is a bizarre thing (as some have noted) that so many transfers have occurred before most of the personnel concerned have even played. That's what an early season Friday game can cause I guess. But if (for example) Vardy and/or Kane do well today then there may well be some buyer's regret later on. 🙂

I did it not out of even fear. I think using the money saved, there are lots who can keep pace with Ibra. However, the money to be made at this stage in addition to the insurance policy is too hard to ignore. I will get differentials and even might ditch Ibra on my WC depending on who else is firing at the time, but for now, it is all aboard the Ibrawagon.

In the short term vardy to ibra makes sense, the pens swung it for me , the price rises is the key part to it I left 1.5 for a tfr .

Like other poster if Vardy get goals today will offset missed points and still get the rises

Doing 2 or 3 tfrs or get one player in though is less sensible

It's ok so far can still get 2 biggish hitters in , if redmond and a few others do not pick up points in budget option could become a problem but will take the points and prise rises and downgrade if required

OK, last post from me and I'm back to membership and the occasional lurking. One can tell where one is not wanted. 😕

I have one team. My team. Same one I always had.

I also look after teams for 2 other family members at their request. There is nothing in any rules to say I can't do that.

I use those teams in cash leagues with the full knowledge of those organising the leagues. That is a private matter between me and those organisers and is subject to no rule whatsoever.

If I have made a mistake it is in openly acknowledging what I know others do as well. Some of them have declared so in open forum but I don't see any of them getting flak or carping comments about it. Others have specialist leagues which they play according to set rules - for example no players from certain teams - and therefore use an account separate to their main one.

The people giving me grief about this are well aware of all of the above. Which leads to the conclusion that for some reason I am a target. It's not something I am willing to put up with. End of story.

There is, well what fpl told me anyway, if you control them then they're classified as yours.

No point arguing was just looking for some concrete proof that they told me I needed before they could take action.

They told me they'd give you the choice of one to keep.

If he's running two teams in separate cash leagues against the same opponents, there's an inherent game theory that's tantamount to cheating.

He can start with the same squad for the first 30 or so weeks, placing two teams as highly as he can in their respective leagues. At this point when the season draws in, if he is winning the two leagues, he can see out the season with the same defensive moves as if he was only playing with one squad to win both leagues, but if he's trailing after 30 weeks he can make separate hail-mary differentials to increase his chances of winning something from at least one of them. So if he starts in a strong position he has no disadvantage, but if he's in a weak position he doubles his chances against the guy leading the leagues with the same team submitted in both. And AZ and Demi's cash leagues have a lot of single team overlap to play against.

That's your beef? You, who have run two teams yourself at least once that you have acknowledged?

I was plain with both AZ and Demi that I would be using a different team for the cash league. They were both fine with it. So, if you have an issue with it you should take it up with them. Rather than provoking others into a witch-hunt. Which is what you very cleverly have done, of course. :I

What happened to "last post from me".

Anyway, I don't know if Balders has ran two teams before but if he has I'm sure he hasn't used them in different cash leagues. And even if he has, it doesn't make it ok. Two wrongs don't make a right.

You haven't addressed Balders point which is that entering separate teams gives you an unfair advantage. Just because AZ and Demi were(rather questionably) fine with it doesn't change the fact it gives you an unfair advantage.

Balders hasn't provoked any witch hunt, instead he has shown people facts, and the people have had the common sense to realise that what's happening is against fpl rules and also quite frankly unfair.

If you could address Balders point about the unfair advantage that would be nice, or at least admit he is right.

"Unfair advantage" is a somewhat paranoid delusion that Balders seems to have. Basically I think he's just concerned that I will smash him out of the park as I did last season. Sore loser.

One team is entered in a cash league, one is paid for and the others have that one team to beat. Simple.

By entering different teams in different cash leagues I have spread my risk a bit. If that's "tantamount to cheating" then Donald Trump is the Archbishop of Canterbury.

When it comes down to it, this whole matter is vindictive and small-minded. A typical social media balloon of hot air "full of sound and fury and signifying nothing".

A S. Could you just get off his back?
What's the point of doing this? Let's focus on constructive discussion on fpl

                        Underlines my point perfectly.

By entering different teams in different cash leagues you have spread your risk and improved your chances in a way that the rules do not permit you to do so. People following the game rules of having their one team in multiple different leagues do not enjoy the advantage of being able to play tactically against you like you do against them. The following fair play clause in the FAQs is there for a reason.

"Can I have more than one team?
In the interest of fair play each person may only enter one team. You may enter this team in multiple leagues and compete against different groups of friends."

You can dress up my motives as you want but I have another mini league I'd rather focus on instead and I don't want to play that and the FFS-based leagues while somebody in the FFS-based leagues is skirting the rules to afford themselves more flexibility.

Well yes because your presence and flexibility to tailor was one of the deciding factors in deciding the FFS cash leagues weren't worth it to me and I'll feel sorry for those in both leagues if you end up winning cash this year.

Hands up now, yes in 2014/15 I ran a second team to experimentally test RMT's predictive nature. That account was only in a league against myself and I shut it down the following season on the advice of other managers here.

I'm sorry if you think I've acted inappropriately with regards to your breach of FPL fair play rules.

I'm looking for Stoke 1-1 Man City

No assist with a penalty miss.

    Maybe some red cards too!

I know two people who look very like Pep. Very strange when he's been interviewed and his voice is all Spanish.

Shae on the bench, Aguero captain is a sub who will come on in the last few minutes, no Zlatan. This GW has barely started and it's gone badly.

Pity - always the best article of the week. Could even have been better taking last nights match into account.

As a Aguero captainer at least most of those in my Mini-league who own and captained Ibra don't have or can't afford Aguero too

With Pogba in, Zlatan is playing further forward, and Utd looking much better all round. IMO he is now essential.

Felt all along Zlat would be Aguero 2, therefore both a must have and can just about rotate the C between them solely.

I took a bold risk in playing my wildcard yesterday in readiness for week 3 after a terrible start this season - I have gone with Costa, Kun and Ibra up top.
