Gameweek 2 rolls into Sunday with a lunchtime Wear-Tees derby clash.

Sunderland play host to a Middlesbrough side that earned a draw in their opening home encounter with Stoke City on day one. David Moyes’ side also emerged with some credit from their first fixture, losing out to Man City by a narrow 2-1 margin having equalised via a Jermain Defoe goal.

Defoe will once again carry the goal scoring burden for the Black Cats today, who are without Fabio Borini due to a toe injury. Moyes gives home debuts to Donald Love, Paddy McNair and Adnan Januzaj, while Papy Djilobodji earns his full debut at the back.

Aitor Karanka begins to rotate his Boro troops by bringing in Cristhian Stuani for Albert Adomah. Victor Valdes misses out with a training ground knock, opening the way for Brad Guzan to earn his debut in goal.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Those wildcarding after GW3, is 3 games really enough to decide on practically a whole new team?

2FT so may as well use one. Anything better than Deulofeu to Bojan for attacking bias? Can't afford Barkley & don't want eve rotation risk.

    Foster (Jaku)
    Valencia - Williams - Stones (Amat/Friend)
Hazard - Mahrez - Redmond - Deulofeu (Capoue)
    Aguero - Ibra - Gray

Well it's a tricky one not sure about that. The popular option is Negredo but I think I'd rather have Long home to Sunderland than Neg away at West Brom.

Honestly this is a very tricky one. I think I would actually be tempted to take a punt on Bolasie for Ramirez. I think Deulofeu will get dropped for Bolasie. The ideal option would be Redmond but he is 0.1m away 🙁

Excellent moves imo. Great outside of the box thinking.

The thing with Stones is that he will rarely score more than 6 points so he can't really hurt you. Redmond playing upfront is a "must have" imo. I'm all for it 🙂

I think it's a no brainer to bank the second transfer there. 5.0m defs hardly worth spending a transfer on especially when they're fit and have good fixtures.

The Lamela knee jerk seems to be getting popular. WTF?
        He scored a goal GW1
        Created 5 chances GW2
        Shaky Livp def GW3

          thanks Nabs.

Yea the other are luxury transfers to possibly get ahead of the curve. I liked Lamela, just thinking ahead of whether to prep for another premium mid.

Firmino is definitely gone - looked clueless with Sturridge back and that midfield is a minefield points wise. so much movement in and around the box - good for Pool, bad for FPL.

Thinking Tadic. Really liked his performance against United.

Barkley other option but yea bit wary of getting him. been there done that etc.

          1. Nabs Kebabs
            • 14 Years
            9 years, 11 months ago

Lamela is one of the bargains of the season imo.

I have already moved on Firmino for a week punt on Mirallas before I play my WC. Agree he is a poor option when Sturridge is playing.

I have never owned Barkley before because he is such a jammy player. But I am liking his stats this season and think this will be the year where he takes a step up. I'd be going him personally. On another note, if you don't have Redmond already, please do yourslelf a big favour and get him ahead of all the other options.

Most will disagree but I've seen enough.

Double on City attack, 2 or 3 Everton players, Rob Holding looks secure for the foreseeable future.

There are many options for sure. Coutinho is very inconsistent but can be explosive. Mahrez is solid but looking a little expensive for what he is offering so far. Lamela is doing pretty well for sure so worth a look (I have him). I just like going on fixtures as well as form and over the next 6 gws Barkley looks really solid and is part of an everton team that i think looks pretty dangerous so far. All personal opinions though.

I really don't want to take Firmino or Deulofeu out yet with them both playing OOP.

I know we look at playing up front as a positive, but when it's not a player's natural position it may contribute to a poor game.

I know I'm not a professional player but the few times I've played up front has been really difficult. Prefer to play in the hole and run at defenders.

Don't have Firminho but I want to take Deulofeu out if he's not going to score/assist there. Plus question over future lineups.

Front looks heavy with lukaku. Consider a downgrade for cash.

Basically the only way I can get Ibra in is by taking out Costa and one of Firmino/ Mahrez

Costa (BUR), Firmino (tot)/ Mahrez (SWA)

Obviously Firmino down to a 6.5 would be the obvious move, but I just can't justify taking out Costa when he plays Burnley at home. Just seems very sideways and stinks of chasing last week's points, when GW3 could produce a bigger haul for Costa. Hull seem to be defying the odds and might not be as leaky as everyone hoped.

    😕

Which is exactly why I'm not getting Ibra yet. Costa could easily do very well v Burnley, and Mahrez the same v Swansea.

Or Costa could finally meet a ref with the balls to send him off when he has already deserved it thoroughly twice over, yet remained on the pitch.against all logic &c refusing to learn
