Gameweek 2 rolls into Sunday with a lunchtime Wear-Tees derby clash.

Sunderland play host to a Middlesbrough side that earned a draw in their opening home encounter with Stoke City on day one. David Moyes’ side also emerged with some credit from their first fixture, losing out to Man City by a narrow 2-1 margin having equalised via a Jermain Defoe goal.

Defoe will once again carry the goal scoring burden for the Black Cats today, who are without Fabio Borini due to a toe injury. Moyes gives home debuts to Donald Love, Paddy McNair and Adnan Januzaj, while Papy Djilobodji earns his full debut at the back.

Aitor Karanka begins to rotate his Boro troops by bringing in Cristhian Stuani for Albert Adomah. Victor Valdes misses out with a training ground knock, opening the way for Brad Guzan to earn his debut in goal.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Afternoon all!

    So my team is this:

    Foster Jaku
    Valencia Stones Williams Friend Amat
    Haz Firmino Tadic Lamela Capoue
    Kun Vardy Gray

    Should I do?

    A) Vardy and Tadic to Ibra and Redmond (-4)

    or

    B) leave it as it is and give Vardy one last chance against Swansea at home and hope Ibra keeps quiet against Hull

I think not having Ibra against Hull may be scary. However, I'm not sure if that's worth the 4 points. I would keep him for now.

You really think he's gonna hold his spot BG?

Mirallas was man of the match from what I read and for once did defensive work which Koeman had criticized him and Deulofeu about in the pressers. That would make him safe. Barkley is safe. Lukaku back should start up front. Bolasie vs Delo for one spot then...Delo been average and Bolasie was lively...

At the start of this FPL season everyone knew Aguero was a must. But at this point I think Zlatan is also a must. I think combined they will score 50 goals. And both have great goalscorers around them so I expect also plenty of assists as well.

    1. JLAEST
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

Agreed. There's already a difference between Zlatan+Aguero people and the rest, and it will only get larger unless Kun gets injured.

Yes, but you can only captain one of them, so you can't get the maximum benefit from both of their points hauls.

  27. JLAEST

First full season on FPL for me, so a question regarding the chips: any suggestion on which fixtures to use them for? Triple Captain seems easy, it's just picking an easy fixture with the team in good form for one of your top players (Kun or Ibra for me). Any suggestions regarding the others? All-Out seems good for fixtures with a lot of goals, but any idea on those? And no clue about Bench Boost (would have been incredible this week actually lol)

    1. AC Tomasso
      • 9 Years

I only use chips on double game weeks towards the end of the season

Okay, dumb question: double game weeks?

        1. SamH123
          • 12 Years

it's when fixtures have been rearranged so that some teams play twice in the same gameweek

        2. mipola
          • 12 Years

When teams play twice in one week(Due to FA Cup or postponements).

        3. AC Tomasso
          • 9 Years
          9 years, 3 months ago

Some teams will play 2 matches in one week later in the season giving them double the chance of scoring points during that week. They come about from re-scheduling of matches due to a teams involvement later in the cup tournaments.

        4. JLAEST
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 3 months ago

Okay, thanks everyone! So forget the chips for now and maybe also hold on a wildcard until the end of the season?

          1. mipola
            • 12 Years
            9 years, 3 months ago

Yeah. Keep one wildcard in hand for the double gameweeks which will come towards the end of the season.

    2. SamH123
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

triple captain should almost certainly be in a double gameweek
bench boost not necessarily a DGW because it's hard to have 15 competitive DGWs

    3. Tex
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

As mentioned. Use bench boost and triple captain when the teams have more than one fixture in a game week. Ideally aguero or ibra.

Use all out attack when you can't decide which mid or attack to bench or defence has terrible fixtures

With confirmation of the Carroll injury..I need to move fast..

These are a couple of options..
    Any advice?

    1. Firmino- Barkley (or other for 8.1m or less) + Carroll- Benteke
    2. Carroll - Negredo/Gray (Who would u choose of these?)

    Foster, Heaton.
    Valencia, Souare, Friend, Amat, Stones.
    Hojbjerg, Redmond, Hazard. Firmino, Lamela.
    Aguero, Carroll*, Ibra.
    2ft's- 0.5m

    Thinking just Carroll- Negredo??
    Like for like basically..

    1. JLAEST
      • 11 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

I think Benteke is a punt, but with your front line you can afford it. Also Firmino has bad fixtures and Barkley great ones. I would go for 1.

      1. Sz21
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 3 months ago

Benteke may need a couple of games to get going..

A bit worried about dropping Firmino and he going mental then too!

        1. JLAEST
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 3 months ago

That's true, and Palace are not looking good. But I guess with the rest of your team you can afford to take that punt. It's a risk, however. I'm thinking of taking out Firmino to get Barkley and I'm also quite scared he goes crazy.

Just do the Carroll transfer. If you swap for Negredo you'll only have 0.4 left, which could hinder a transfer in the next few weeks.
