Dugout Discussion – Sunderland vs Middlesbrough

Gameweek 2 rolls into Sunday with a lunchtime Wear-Tees derby clash.

Sunderland play host to a Middlesbrough side that earned a draw in their opening home encounter with Stoke City on day one. David Moyes’ side also emerged with some credit from their first fixture, losing out to Man City by a narrow 2-1 margin having equalised via a Jermain Defoe goal.

Defoe will once again carry the goal scoring burden for the Black Cats today, who are without Fabio Borini due to a toe injury. Moyes gives home debuts to Donald Love, Paddy McNair and Adnan Januzaj, while Papy Djilobodji earns his full debut at the back.

Aitor Karanka begins to rotate his Boro troops by bringing in Cristhian Stuani for Albert Adomah. Victor Valdes misses out with a training ground knock, opening the way for Brad Guzan to earn his debut in goal.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Had to let go to get Ibra. Was part of a 3 way transfer, but was essentially Firm>Barkley. Freed up cash, improved near term fixtures, and dodged a potential price drop. Feels good, although I think Firm will eventually come good.

          Costa has got a goal in each game even though his lack of bonus is annoying.

        I'm getting Mirallas this week but only because I'm probably WC'ing after GW3. I think he's a great short term shout but not so much long term. He's very hot and cold, Koeman loves rotation and Bolasie now in the mix means one bad performance and he'll potentiall lose his spot.

          Agree with you to an extent although I think Mirallas will stay in the team since he seems to be playing quite well imo.

          Since I cannot get Barkley without a hit, which other mids would you consider at 7m or less?

      Should I do?

      A) Vardy and Tadic to Ibra and Redmond (-4)

      or

      B) leave it as it is and give Vardy one last chance against Swansea at home and hope Ibra keeps quiet against Hull
