Dugout Discussion – Spurs vs Liverpool

Gameweek 3 gets underway in some style: on paper, the early kick-off at White Hart Lane has the makings of a classic. However, much depends on the version of the Liverpool side that turns up.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were spectacular in the season opener against Spurs’ north London rivals, Arsenal. They followed that display a week later with frustrating showing at Burnley, as they slipped to a 2-0 reverse having hogged 83% of the ball.

As for Spurs, they’ve certainly failed to spark to this point. A stalemate with Everton was followed by a stuttering display against Palace, which eventually saw them grind out a 1-0 win.

Harry Kane is back as the lone striker. Philippe Coutinho is fit and on the Liverpool teamsheet. The scene is set for the big Fantasy assets to come to the fore.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Firmino would have scored that.

I suppose Klopp will take Mané off for Sturridge - more Firmino assists incoming!

Why? We can check now and it is 1 assist after 3 games.

3 games is too few to tell if a player will score well.

I want to get him on the cheap and as a differential.

57 min "Turns out the goal was rightly disallowed - Lallana, who played it across to Mane, was fractionally ahead of the last man. There was confusion because the scorer Mane was well behind the ball so could not have been offside. But it was an excellent piece of assistant refereeing from the assistant referee."

I think it was too tight to make that call in real time. Its even hard to tell in a freeze frame. Line calls should be given as goals imo

The Liverpool attack reminds me of the Arsene Wenger approach of picking it out a hat and hoping for the best. No wonder they are so up and down.

After watching about 15 seasons with Premier League, I can't recall a worse haircut than the one Firmino has right now.

Jason Lee's haircut was culturally and of a time acceptable.

Firmino just looks like an outdated hipster knob.

Which 'pool midfielder to get will be the headache during international break. The £ saved by choosing Firmino or Coutinho over Mane makes it's possible to get Lukaku over e.g. Rondon.

Firmino owners will say he is essential.

Firmino sellers will say 1 assist in 3gw is not worth it.

Casuals will be screaming at bringing in courthino in gw2 and seeing no outcome...
