Our next members article of the week takes a closer look at goal threat from the back. We focus on Fantasy Premier League defenders priced at 5.0 or below as we delve into the Opta data in an attempt to seek out value in our five-man backlines.

Wa hey
-
Who scores more points next Two weeks
Williams OR Lukaku?-
Away at Sun and home to Boro?
Will put Williams down for 8-
Wildcarding eh?
Also out of curiosity, why compare a defenders points with a forwards?
-
-
Williams.
-
Williams
-
Tempted to keep Aguero and just replace my non playing defender with williams
-
Playing defenders are?
-
Here is the logic
Have even considered just benching him and using the transfer to buy an Everton defender instead, would remove my non playing Ffith defender. Then in Two weeks when would have been bringing Aguero back could use that transfer to bring in a Liverpool attcker for that home match with Hull, they have great fixtures looming. It no certainty that someone like Lukaku would outscore Williams in the next Two weeks, and would advance my team much better. If Giroud looks like starting then i would replace Aguero for him, but for Lukaku im not so sure. Next week i have to play Kone away at Sunderland, the Willliams transfer would mean him at home to boro instead, much more attractive-
Kone plays for Sunderland?
-
Keep up
-
😀 Kone away at Tottenham
-
See now why you're tempted.
Who is the 7th attackers for GW6?-
attacker*
-
Capoue
-
Poor fixture. Much more upside with a striker.
-
-
Thanks LT just made me realise something. I would still have to play Kone away at Tottenham regardless, as would need to play 4 defenders in GW 5
So looks like Aguero is going
-
-
-
-
'Next week i have to play Kone away at Sunderland,'
Kone plays for Sunderland.-
🙂
-
-
-
-
So you're saying Everton attacking 'coverage' is not 'essential?' 😉
My two favorite words there, hopefully Baines is enough.
Maybe Mirallas worth a punt?-
I have Bolasie
-
-
If you are not on a WC, you could easily keep him. You want him back in two weeks anyway
-
-
-
-
I think Lukaku will get 1 goal plus 2 bonus
-
-
Souare best 4.5 defender that doesn't play for WBA? Or are most sticking with George Friend?
-
I prefer Friend.
-
Have we had any updates on his injury?
-
No, not yet. Think Chambers would be just as good an option if he goes straight into the team.
-
-
-
Also holebas friend Adam smith
-
Friend's fixtures not too good now.
Look at Pieters and Holebas
-

The article I've been waiting for!
Big big Numbers! -
Williams or Baines is a tough one...
-
Baines is on pens
-
I'm starting to consider the Collins/Baines duo might be better then Williams/Masuaku tbh.
-
Collins not nailed
-
That's the narrative, the reality says otherwise.
-
-
-
-
Costa brace
-
Getting harder to switch him to Lukaku.
-
(on a WC)
-
-
Shiiit, this mans on fire.
But his fixtures are crap 🙁-
Not that bad IMO
-
They cant get much worse
-
He can score in all of next 5
-
Anyone could score in any fixture. But having Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd in his next 5, I cant think of much worse teams to play against?
-
Next one is against Swans though.
-
only one game. Most of us has Hazard
-
-
-
-
-
-
Not sure how much weight I'd apply to a brace against Lichtenstein.
-
-
C'mon it is only Liechtenstein.
-
It's still a brace
-
I know.. I'm not saying it is nothing, but considering his pros and cons I still think it is better not to invest in him.
Btw..you should also consider Silva. He got 1 goal and assist. Nolito had assist too.-
All I said was Costa has scored a brace... Nothing about considering him or investing in him
-
Fair enough. He is in good form and plays for team in form. Most important conditions to bring him in.
-
-
-
-
-
But I'm happy. His goals make people want him and buy. He can earn me 0,1 if everything will go smoothly 🙂
-
-
Which is best on WC?
A. Baines and Kingsley
B. Williams and Friend-
Already have Amat btw.
-
Kingsley is not nailed.
B
-
-
One free transfer. Should I use my Augero cash or save?
A. Gray to Benteke
B. Pieters to Baines
C. Pieters to Shaw (double ManU def)
D. Lamella to Sterling
Thanks-
Wait till you get news on Gray.
-
-
Ireland robbed 🙄
-
Make transfers tonight or wait till pressers to make sure that rest of team is ok?
want to transfer Townsend out and he may drop tonight but have Gray too who may be suspended. -
ROI robbed by the referee. Terrible decision.
-
So, is Deulofeu threatening Mirallas position in the team? Or is it Bolasie
-
I don't think any of them are nailed yet. No one can surely say. Plus i see a lot of 60 minute appearances.
-
Yeah, I'm starting to think the same
-
-
no one atm I think he is nailed on starter but first to get substituted off which is a disadvantage
-
Bolasie has played 178' in the last 2 games v Stoke & Yeovil. Only Lukaku of the attacking players has had more minutes - 180'.
-
-
Why has Collins been starting over Ogbonna this season? Is it set to continue?
-
Injury. Unlikely to continue once Ogbonna is fit.
-
Since when has he been injured?
-
-
-
Little dilemma on WC:
A) Williams and PVA
B) Baines and Kone
First to 3!-
A
-
A for me.
-
I have A.

Repost as bottomed on previous article
Foster
Valencia Baines Van Aanholt
Hazard Ozil Sterling Lanzini
Ibra Lukaku Benteke
Pickford Capoue Souare Pieters
Plan for Aguero would be Ibra to Aguero and Lukaku to form plate around 7.6. And look at Liverpool mid fielde for Sterling when fixtures improve.
Think this is possibly too template but having looked at various permutations but looks best plan I think. Any changes you could suggest to improve?
Thanks-
* player!
-
Looks good. The only doubt for me is lanzini so have an exit plan worked out if required
-
-
Lost on previous article
I have Valencia, stones, friend, Pieters and Amat in my defence. Was going to bench Stones and Amat. Right decision?-
Yes.
-
Cheers.
-
-
Yes.

Ta
-
-
right decision
-
-
if Collins plays good and helps team in winning matches in the upcoming favourable fixtures he Can jump ahead ogbonna in queue when he returns from injury..... simple
-
Oggie isn't injured, he's been back a while and played @citeh. I think Collins has moved ahead of him.
-
Collins it is then 😀
-
-
So, Gray is available against Hull, then?
-
Yes
-
Nice.
-
show me the proof . link?
-
He could be a captaincy option, then.
-
-
-
Wales 🙂
France was great, though not sure I fancy a kicking in Russia should we make it. -
C'MON IRELAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Daryl Murphy scores his first goal for Ireland. Supersub. Makes up for a shocking decision from the ref. Fairplay, once again we never give up.
-
Spain 7-0
-
Costa or Sanchez
I have caz and haz-
both
-
-
wanna ask if someone relying on coutinho this ganeweek ....scored 2 in first gw had many chances at burnley plus easy chance missed vs spurs.... very much a threat always. .
-
I think he'll score vs Leicester
-
-
RMWCT:
Foster Pickford
Valencia Baines Masuaku Evans Amat
Hazard Sanchez Sterling Antonio Hojbjerg
Ibra Defoe Tekkers
Any changes needed????-
Looks well. Good luck.
-
-
Lol at members article with all the article info shown in the pic 😀
-
Williams off with a knock
-
He's fine, not even receiving any treatment. Sat on bench having a drink
-
That's what the commentators said. Can't see why he'd have come off otherwise. He never gets subbed.
-
Phew
-
-
-
So, it is fair to say that the difference of quality between Chelsea and Swansea is equal to that between Spain and Liechtenstein, right?
-
I think that Liectenstein side is made up of milk men and taxi drivers
-
So, you're saying they're about the level of Swansea? Then it's just a question of whether Chelsea is as good as Spain.
-
Pretty much 🙂
-
-
-
Cue Swansea 1-0 Chelsea
-
-
Please RMT!
Heaton
McAuley - Williams - Shaw
Antonio - Ozil - Hazard - Sterling
Lukaku - Ibra - Benteke
Pickford, Capoue, Stones, Amat
Williams & Stones > Baines & Pieters or stick with what I have?-
I like it. Stick with Williams and stones. Better balance.
-
I would make that change
-
