Dugout Discussion – Liverpool vs Leicester

Saturdays’s events conclude at Anfield when Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will host champions Leicester City.

The big teamsheet news is that Klopp has made the decision to keep Philippe Coutinho on the bench, despite flying him back early from international duty with Brazil. That allows Daniel Sturridge to earn a second start of the season, whilst Lucas has to come into to central defence with Dejan Lovren ruled out with an injury sustained in training.

Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City are unchanged as they bid to build on their 2-1 win over Swansea City in Gameweek 3. There’s no place on the bench for new signing Islam Slimani.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    + bought cazorla

    Couldve been worse I guess, but couldve been much better.

        I'm not a Lamella fan at all. I think if his manager wasn't Argentinian and he didn't cost so much (transfer + wage) then he would have been out of the team a long time ago. Don't see enough from him personally.

    Manchester Derby was absolutely brilliant. I thought City were top class for most of the first half, United did OK in the second half but lacked the cutting edge in the final third and a creative spark in midfield. City will score loads of goals this season. On the other hand, United need to start Rashford.

            How do you pick a Liverpool mid? Sounds easy to jump on them but they are all capable of scoring, chances are you will always pick the wrong one, sods law.

      Fantastic game of football and think with a couple of better selections we would have given a much better account of ourselves particularly first half where City bossed us.. alluded to it pre seaon that our counter attacking potential is seriously hindered by the lack of pace of both Rooney and Zlatan.. we can compensate for Zlatan as he brings everything else to the table .. Rooney brings nothing... it was evident today.. as for Rashford i'm not going to tip toe round this anymore.. he's our best player right now.. absolutely frightening talent

        Agreed mate. Personally thought Herrera/Schneiderlin had to start to make it a midfield 3. Rooney has no business in this United side either. Mourinho got selection and formation wrong today - Rooney, Mkhitaryan (for his first start) and Lingard.

        Rashford needs to play for you. Bought in pace and skill when he came on.

          He brings everything.. i well remember Michael Owen bursting on to the stage at a similar age aswell as Cristiano Ronaldo and old enough to remember Giggs making his debut for us too.. Rashford looks a more complete footballer than any of those and by a distance..

    Looking at plans for the next couple of weeks

    Ibra* giroud stuani*

    Stuani has to go, thats for sure, whilst ibra will be the fall guy for aguero.
    This leaves me with exactly 1.8 for upgrades, and im looking for a better 3rd striker and a liverpool midfielder.

    In terms of strikers my shortlist based on price and fixtures is bony, ighalo, deeny and Hernandez. Which option would you go for ?

    B) lallana & deeney/ighalo
    C) firmino & hernandez
