Roberto Firmino did more than enough in the win at Swansea City to maintain his Watchlist status following Saturday’s matches. He climbs back above Sadio Mane as our preferred Liverpool option.

Jurgen Klopp’s midfield remains a complex puzzle, made all the more confusing by yesterday’s injury to Adam Lallana.

The 7.2 option could well make a return for the Gameweek 8 Anfield meeting with Manchester United, although the doubts over his availability removes him from our reckoning for now.

Should Lallana’s groin problem lead to a prolonged absence, it would seem that Daniel Sturridge would be drafted in up front, with Firmino shifting to the left of the front three, forcing Philippe Coutinho into a deeper role.

Coupled with Firmino’s 12-points at the Liberty Stadium, the current landscape suggests that the 8.4 Brazilian should remain our preferred pick, although we fully expect to have to re-assess the scenario match by match.

Liverpool’s midfield candidates remain behind Arsenal pair Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott, along with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.

All three are in action today and, barring injury, we’re not anticipating a drop in Stock for any of that trio.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min has the opportunity to boost his reputation further against City, while a steller performance from Riyad Mahrez against Southampton might just see him return to our thinking.

Currently, there are just too many in-form options in his bracket and, with fixtures stiffening for Leicester City, Mahrez continues to be a peripheral figure.

Hull City’s Robert Snodgrass is our most notable climber sitting below the familiar big-hitters.

Given his pivotal role for the Tigers, we feel the Scot could be set to return outstanding value for his 5.7 price tag over their blossoming schedule of fixtures.

West Ham United’s Michail Antonio has drifted in the opposite direction.

With Walcott and Son in bloom in his price bracket, the Hammers’ winger could ill-afford to return successive blanks.

West Ham’s faltering form is also a major factor and, with a trip to a confident Crystal Palace up next, Antonio slips down our pecking order.

Up front, there’s been little change overnight.

Diego Costa’s haul at the KCOM Stadium fails to boost his Watchlist ranking while he teeters on the Suspension Tightrope.

Watford’s Troy Deeney delivered on his promise against Bournemouth to maintain his place in third – it will be up to Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic to make his move today and challenge that position.

A blank from the big Swede would doubtless lead to significant sales over the international break and another drop in our rankings. Marcus Rashford hovers as a 6.9 priced alternative – he could well receive a boost should Ibrahimovic fail his owners in today’s early kick-off.

A reminder that the Watchlist rankings are available in the right sidebar on the desktop and via the fourth button on the homepage on mobile and tablet.

We will be reviewing the ranks overnight for a further update in the morning.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thats it exactly. I feel 10m for his goal a game can be handled and matched by managing funds elsewhere. Lukaku form just as good and the 0.8m goes a long way. Plus i couldn't captain costa as he never explodes.

Had him since WC in GW3, and he's been great for points, but always such a concern.

Having said that, I watched the Chelsea game yesterday and he was superb. Best I've seen him play. And relatively calm, never once did I think he was going to get booked.

Suppose I'm happy he survived another week and I'll certainly keep him vs Leicester, but when his fifth yellow come I won't loose any sleep...

So what does Ibra need to do today to convince those owners to keep?

    6+pts?
    8+pts?
    10+pts?

    1. EmreCan Hustle

      8+

    2. Demí
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

15+ pts i reckon. But i think it depends more on how Sanchez and Aguero do. Presumably Ibra owners don't own one of those, so if they smash it, they'll be desperate to get them in before it's too late.

      1. Evasivo
        • 15 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

I agree, defo depends on Kun & Sanchez, but think even if they do nothing Ibra still needs to impress. However if they score big, then Ibra needs a miracle to stay in my team. I have Kun but no Sanchez

        1. Demí
          • 15 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

Agree. And despite him most likely getting a haul, if the other two do too, it's still a fairly straight forward sell with his 2 fixtures after i think.

Ibra most likely to be dropped if he does nothing today

Depends if Aguero returns I guess, and if Rashford does anything. Midfielders are also a factor, if Sanchez, Walcott and Sterling do anything then Ibra owners will likely be looking at how to get them over the break.

I'd say it's going to take double figures to stop Ibra dropping significantly over the break.

I got him gw1 with the plan to sell him after stoke to get aguero. Im confident by end of today his overall score beats kuns at a cheaper price so the decision to get him will be merited. But I'm still selling even if he scores 3. Aguero fixtures get too good and I'm not able to captain both so ibra price will become not worth it.

Score points, get transfers in and nor out.

Got Sanchez, Aguero, Sterling and money for Antonio to Walcott so will only sell if he blanks and looks to be dropping.

The season lasts for 38 weeks not 2 or 3 that's just passed, quire happy to play the long game and grind others down as long as I have the main captain options covered.

I wonder if it is time to change out Capoue?
I dont think I will ever be starting him anyway..
Could free up some cash for an upgrade for Antonio or Lallana?

    Couple of questions:

    A) Best 3rd Striker, Deeney, Wilson or Defoe?

    B) Who would you get in first, Walcott or Sterling?

Fellow non Ibra and UTD def owners. I have the same feeling this morning that I had last year when we all ditched Spurs players before playing BB. They won 3-0 v Stoke and Alderweireld, Kane, Ali were all heavily involved.

This first match, imo, will not be pretty for us. (Pray I'm wrong)

    Which is better?

    A) Sterling+Pva
    B) Walcott+Koscielny

    Worried about Theo's nailed on-ness.

    Thanks.
