Roberto Firmino did more than enough in the win at Swansea City to maintain his Watchlist status following Saturday’s matches. He climbs back above Sadio Mane as our preferred Liverpool option.

Jurgen Klopp’s midfield remains a complex puzzle, made all the more confusing by yesterday’s injury to Adam Lallana.

The 7.2 option could well make a return for the Gameweek 8 Anfield meeting with Manchester United, although the doubts over his availability removes him from our reckoning for now.

Should Lallana’s groin problem lead to a prolonged absence, it would seem that Daniel Sturridge would be drafted in up front, with Firmino shifting to the left of the front three, forcing Philippe Coutinho into a deeper role.

Coupled with Firmino’s 12-points at the Liberty Stadium, the current landscape suggests that the 8.4 Brazilian should remain our preferred pick, although we fully expect to have to re-assess the scenario match by match.

Liverpool’s midfield candidates remain behind Arsenal pair Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott, along with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.

All three are in action today and, barring injury, we’re not anticipating a drop in Stock for any of that trio.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min has the opportunity to boost his reputation further against City, while a steller performance from Riyad Mahrez against Southampton might just see him return to our thinking.

Currently, there are just too many in-form options in his bracket and, with fixtures stiffening for Leicester City, Mahrez continues to be a peripheral figure.

Hull City’s Robert Snodgrass is our most notable climber sitting below the familiar big-hitters.

Given his pivotal role for the Tigers, we feel the Scot could be set to return outstanding value for his 5.7 price tag over their blossoming schedule of fixtures.

West Ham United’s Michail Antonio has drifted in the opposite direction.

With Walcott and Son in bloom in his price bracket, the Hammers’ winger could ill-afford to return successive blanks.

West Ham’s faltering form is also a major factor and, with a trip to a confident Crystal Palace up next, Antonio slips down our pecking order.

Up front, there’s been little change overnight.

Diego Costa’s haul at the KCOM Stadium fails to boost his Watchlist ranking while he teeters on the Suspension Tightrope.

Watford’s Troy Deeney delivered on his promise against Bournemouth to maintain his place in third – it will be up to Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic to make his move today and challenge that position.

A blank from the big Swede would doubtless lead to significant sales over the international break and another drop in our rankings. Marcus Rashford hovers as a 6.9 priced alternative – he could well receive a boost should Ibrahimovic fail his owners in today’s early kick-off.

A reminder that the Watchlist rankings are available in the right sidebar on the desktop and via the fourth button on the homepage on mobile and tablet.

We will be reviewing the ranks overnight for a further update in the morning.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

After a truly terrible, terrible start, I am now very slowly climbing up my mini leagues (Still ranked around 1.5million mark OR)

What I really need is an Aguero and Ibra blank.
    With San(C)hez exploding.

Best Striker option if you already have Deeney:

    A) Defoe (Sun don't create many chances, good fixtures, proven away record)

    B) Bony (Only if he scores a goal today)

    C) Rashford (Tough fixtures, good form, no pens)

    D) Austin (Tough fixtures, good form, better option after GW10)

    E) Wilson (good fixtures, grabbed a goal yesterday)

    Appreciate your thoughts!

Not having a Liverpool mid is killing my OR, I have the exact money for Antonio and Shaw to Firmino and Smith, but Firmino is almost certain to rise before i've got 2FT's in GW9.

    Would you

    A) Do both transfers with GW for a hit.
    B) Wait and get Coutinho in GW9, instead of Firmino if his price rises.
    C) Get Francis (4.5m) instead of Smith (4.6m) this GW, and hope Fimino's rise does not rise by more than 0.1 before GW9.

    1. faver
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

I think that Shaw would not give you more than those sweet 2 points anyways, so solving Antonio is a bigger deal. Getting Coutinho is good idea anyway, with or without price changes. Many people here, including me, says that he was better against swans, just unlucky or something.

The worry with Coutinho is that he may be moved deeper to accommodate Sturridge, now Lallana is out.

          2 goals, cs, baps, 60 minutes = 30. cs, assist, 1 bp, 60 mins = 10. Thats possible

Ok so I bottled the Ibra captain in favour of Sanchez. However I am the only owner in my league (I think) so anything scored will be lovely. Valencia if you dont shine today you might have to go also.

Excitement builds up as the game approach 90minutes and you have clean sheet points

Only for it all to be dashed after yet another late goal

I don't see the appeal in Pickford. Sunderland have an awful defence and have done ever since the days of Mignolet in goal. Every keeper since then has has racked up large amount of save points but very little clean sheets.

I feel the likes of Heaton will comfortably outscore him.

He had 3 saves 13 minutes in or something. In my opinion it's better than 2 points from any other gk, and cech's thibauts and other daves cost 1,5 more

But surely that just highlights how poor Sunderland are and they are the league whipping boys?

Pickford has a point per game ratio of 3.6, not that good, They really need the odd clean sheet here and there to bump that up. Heaton has a point per game ratio of 4.7

You have your point, but I bough Pick for a reason, and its money. Both are decent for their value. But i have no regrets in this case.

    Walker / Antonio / Jaku >>> Boruc/ Walcott/ 5.0m def??

Keep/get defenders that can get attacking returns.

      Holebas.
      Cedric.
      Blind.
      Walker.

Quick reminder not to forget about De Bruyne. Already making plans on how to bring him back when he is fit. 3 double figure hauls in a row and 2 goals and 6 assists in 6 games.

He will undoubtedly be a heavy scorer this season.

    1. Whats the Huth

      At 10.5
Super difficult to squeeze him in. Especially when Sterling is getting the points in an attacking team

This. Wait and see how Sterling is growing. He's similar to Sanchez in Barca in 11/12. If he can keep up with his form (looking at City and how he's nailed, its possible) he will be a season long steal.

Trying to keep on gaining value on Sterling whilst freeing up cash.. I will do the upgrade eventually!
