As we approached the new season, hopes were high that Dimitri Payet could prove irresistible for our five-man midfields in 2016/17.

Restricted to just 26 minutes over the first three Gameweeks due to injury, Payet has been sold by a massive 589,000+ so far – only Eden Hazard and Riyad Mahrez have been subject to more sales in the centre of the park.

Since returning to the West Ham first XI in Gameweek 4, though, Payet has been quick to rediscover his Fantasy form.

Impressively, the Frenchman has played a part in all five of his side’s goals over that period. Payet provided two assists against both Watford and West Brom before serving up a stunning solo effort at home to Middlesbrough last time out.

With 30 points accrued in his four starts, then, this latest article for members casts an eye over Payet’s recent displays, assessing them against last season’s numbers before checking out the stats over the last four Gameweeks relative to other midfielders.

Reckon Fuchs will be worth the outlay after this week? they've kept 3 CS's at home(out of a 4 home games!) and their fixtures are going to be crazy good. is he as attacking as he was last year though?

They are still a good defense. The only worry is that I felt most teams had them figured out at the end of last season. It was their mid season form that helped them.

Plus with CL. There could be rotation.

The price tag plus European involvement is keeping me from Leicester investment, maybe in the new year once they don't have mid week games will I bring someone in

i think i'm gonna end up going with Clyne at this rate. those fixtures plus his attacking threat should be fun. 0 CS's for 5.5 is putting me off a bit though i must admit

Hey man.. i've already got Walker + Koscielny .. Mustafi is a sound option too though. and regards Fuchs.. i know nothing about how he's played this season. i just have fond memories of last season is all. and leicester have looked tight at home so i'd keep him if i had him tbh

Nice back line. Perhaps Fuchs is too much then? Considering the lack of clean sheets and CL games and big hitters starting to come to the fore

I have Fuchs and can't decide if keeping for the good fixtures it ditching for an Arsenal defender or even Smith. They have looked good at home but dreadful away. He has decent stats so far but hasn't been mopping up the BAPs like last season. Would love to hear your thoughts..

    Chaps,

    Regarding Mr Son,

I'm desperate to rid my squad of Ross Barkley, and Son seems the obvious choice to replace and upgrade the faltering Everton number 10.

But... Son played the full 90 this afternoon against Iran, and Tottenham face the might of Bayer Leverkusen hot on the heals of the West Brom match, this time next week.

Are we not thinking Mr Pochettino might be tempted to rest his meal ticket, and play one of any number of other options, be it VinnyJanssen up top, Sissoko, Lamela, Eriksen or the new French lad?

Is bringing in the prodigal Son a bit of a rotation risk?

    1. Worzel Gummidge
        9 years, 8 months ago

Not for the foreseeable and I think he will be pretty nailed as he is great player. Hardly has much competition from Lamela or Sissoko.

Without doubt he's the best option for Spurs, and for my money the most entertaining footballer in the Prem... it's the incessant ball hogging followed by either an audacious finish or a moment of utter buffoonery which makes me love him so... and all that with a giant smile on his chevy. What a wonderful player. I want him in my team real bad, but i'll be gutted if i sign him up and he's promptly rested. Tricky.

            Part of me is considering a blockbuster 8 point burn;

            Williams > Alderweireld
            Barkley > Son
            Sterling > Walcott

            Rest of my forwards being;
            Sanchez, Mane, Antonio
            Aguero, Rashy, Dio

            ...madness?

            1. Worzel Gummidge
                9 years, 8 months ago

Getting rid of Sterling is a no no IMO. Drop Antonio before him IMO. Alder is too expensive. Get Vert/Rose/Walker and spread the cash IMO.

Are we assuming Sterling is alive and well and this injury is merely a ruse to get out of playing for Southgate?

                      9 years, 8 months ago

He should be fine but wait for pressers. If he is fine I would be dropping Antonio ahead of him thats for sure.

I prefer a decent 4th def when I have a 5th midfielder like say, Snodgrass. Useful rotation. Mostly because I won't be relying much on Diamonde.

It's so exciting having big hitting defenders with attacking potential. Especially when there are so many cheap and good value strikers and mids atm (but need to beware of Payet/Ozil etc finding form)

Should be nailed on - think they're playing a CM at CB at the moment.

If Lukaku turns out to be injured for the weekend are people removing him instead of Zlatan?

              Slovakia playing in all white.
Scotland could slip on blue shorts for a blue/blue/red number?
Oh no, we have to slip into a wee slinky pink/black/pink number!!!
Barry Bannen can't help mincing with that outfit on, ffs. 🙁

I hate that too. Why pink? Could have easily been an all dark blue kit. And why are Scotland aways always pink or some other ridiculous colour combination?

I don't mind the yellow strips we have had in the past but this pink one is hideous

Yellow is ok. Its those old paint splashed on ones and the pink ones. Whats pink got to do with Scotland? No flag or emblem has pink in it

We're so unlucky, should've been 2-0 by now.
