With seven rounds of fixtures now behind us, Tottenham Hotspur are the only unbeaten team remaining in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit just one point off the summit, defeating Manchester City 2-0 last time out to underline their defensive resilience and chalk up a fourth clean sheet of the campaign.

Considering only three other sides – Arsenal, Leicester and Southampton, with three apiece – have mustered more than two shut-outs, Fantasy interest in the White Hart Lane outfit is understandable.

Impressively, Spurs have conceded just three goals so far.

Put into perspective, only one team, Everton, with five – have shipped less than half that total.

After proving their fixture-proof appeal by nullifying the threat of Sergio Aguero and co, we delve into the numbers, comparing Spurs to other resilient rearguards before assessing Pochettino’s backline regulars.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Is Grant and Pickford a good GK pairing for the next few weeks?

Not ideal i guess but at least pickford will be permanent. So i guess you can go with this pair for 6-7 weeks easily

Clyne would need to be on pens to justify his price tag in that Liverpool defence. Plus Vert is the poorest Spurs choice in the back line with the smallest stack threat.

Toby + any wins everyday of the week. Plenty of options for 5.0m and below.

A Capoue to Walcott (aoa and rotate snoddy Austin)

    Wildcard needed do we think?

Looks like you have fallen for the hype about only premium defenders being worth having. 😕

We are only 7 games into the season and there have been few clean sheets. Why? Well, 23 penalties in the first 6 weeks compared to 10 last season is part of why. And teams like Arsenal and City, even Burnley and Hull showing a 50% or greater increase in conversion rates (attempts to goals, compared to 2014/15) is another.

That level of conversion cannot and will not sustain. Neither will the huge leap in penalties awarded. At the current rate the PL all-time record for penalties awarded in a season would be broken - not marginally but by nigh on 50%.

It is true that the refereeing clampdown on holding in the box has contributed to this, though not as much as people might imagine. In any case, teams are getting used to that. It is therefore likely that the spate of goals and lack of clean sheets is partly a result of happenstance - the product of a small sample that won't be replicated through the next 31 weeks.

So... if the current conversion rate isn't sustainable and the penalty rate is likely to fall back towards a more normal level then more clean sheets will appear. It's not only Spurs and Arsenal that will be capable of getting them. That's my view of it anyhow.

Valencia to clyne.. doesnt exactly help tooo much this week but after next gw fixtures are so good, im tipping clyne to do very well.

You have 2 non player defenders. I would sort that out. Drop Valencia as well.

    Grant
    Coleman - Walker - Bellarin
    Sanchez - Sterling - Firminio - Snodgrass
    Aguero - Defoe - Austin

    Pick - Holebas - Capoue - Amat

Money in the bank for Sterling > De Bruyne next week.

    Good to go?

Ok chaps, reasonably happy but would make a couple of changes if funds allow, however, currently got this

    Foster, Heaton
    Valencia, Baines, McAuley, Collins, Amat
    Sterling, Sanchez, Firmino, Walcott, Capoue
    Kun, Kaku, Stuani

    1FT,0.5itb

Other than desperately wanting to shift Collins and Stuani just being necessary fodder I'm stumped without losing any big guns....

    Thoughts??
    Or
Should I just leave be for now??

(Walcot to Hon the other niggle...though i know it's sideways... maybe next week on?)

I have the same defence as you and I'm worried about not having any ars/spurs cover at the back.. would rather look into that

Totally agree, seriously want to do Collins to Bellarin...

Only way i can without ripping the rest to shreds is to do Sanchez to Hon... Have been massively considering it... But selling Sanchez with his fixtures..!?

        Gotta love this game/obsession!!

I think you have them in a good order although they are all great picks

I'd go Sanchez but keep an eye on him. Rumours are Wenger could rest him too. He played late Wednesday night for Chile and only arrived back today.

It is way better. FPLS or FFF are the most reliable.

Hey guys. As always, apologies for posting this here.

I've just launched the first episode of a brand new FPL concept I've been working on. I call it the 'Point Predictor'

Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

Only if ur other keeper is a bad pick and you also have 2ft... i wouldnt do it if i just had 1. Coming into next week after this vreak woth 2ft is more valuable
