The Dugout Discussion – Southampton vs Burnley

Sunday’s events conclude at St Mary’s as Southampton play host to Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

The Saints will be seeking a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, a seventh in a row in all competitions.

Visitors Burnley will need to improve their attacking threat in order to threaten that record. The Clarets have scored just five goals from their seven matches, creating three big chances – the fewest in the Premier Leauge.

The Saints attack has disappointed with just seven goals scored in their seven matches. However, the statistics show that they have the potential to improve on that record in this one: Claude Puel’s side have produced a shot on goal every 4.8 minutes at St Mary’s – only Liverpool have been more threatening in home matches this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        He didn't bloody get himself in the team that's what. Rotting on Saints bench meaning I have Jonny Evans' thundering 1 pt incoming unless I'm treated to a 1 pt cameo from Hjojberg late in this game. Thrilled.

    BAINES has this week scored ONE MORE POINT than my three forwards combined.

    AGUERO(C) = MINUS TWO
    BENTEKE = MINUS ONE
    DEENEY = TWO POINTS

    TOTAL FOR MY FRONT LINE = MINUS ONE

    BAINES - did not play

    TOTAL FOR BAINES = ZERO POINTS

      Luckily I didn't captain Aguero, so my three forwards only scored zero.
      What a PITA expecting so much from those three and getting nothing. 🙁

      I am on 8 points with only Firmnino to play.
      I transferred out Lukaku and Chadli (18 pts?) for Benteke & Son (0 pts)

      My best player is also on my bench (Capoue with 3)

      It could be worse!!

    Afternoon all, some opinions appreciated

    Foster, Pickford
    Kos, Baines, Holebas, McAuley, Amat
    Antonio, Sanchez, Son, Snodgrass, Rodwell
    Kun, Lukaku, Wilson

    1FT, 2.7 ITB.
    Would you do McAuley > Francis to enable Son > KDB for -4?

      He's just ultra conservative. Banked the profit on Capoue to help with his 2 FTs next week.

    Why are people posting RMTs here when there's a match on?
    Do you really expect to get a reply?
    My advice is to wait until well after the match finishes and all the "My score is 98. Is that good?" posts have diminished.
