A dour Anfield affair offered scant reward for Fantasy Football managers as defences came out on top.

That added up to another ineffective evening for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who played his part in a guarded United performance, resulting in another blank with inevitable Fantasy Premier League sales to follow.

Here’s the final Stock Check of Gameweek 8…

On the Rise

Nathaniel Clyne
Owned by less than 9% of Fantasy Premier League managers, the Liverpool right-back shook off a knee problem to start and play his part in a first clean sheet of the season for the Reds. Clyne claimed the maximum bonus points on offer after winning all four of his attempted tackles.

Priced at 5.5, his stock is somewhat limited by his price point which, in the current landscape, presents a significant obstacle. Dejan Lovren, at 4.9, remains our preferred route into Jurgen Klopp’s rearguard.

With West Brom, Crystal Palace and Watford up next, further defensive returns for Clyne and Lovren could be on the horizon.

David de Gea
A world class save from Philippe Coutinho’s long-range effort kept the scoreline at 0-0 and helped De Gea to only his third save point of the season.

The Spaniard also edged a bonus point as United won their third clean sheet of the campaign – their first since Gameweek 3 as the Spaniard’s 40% ownership fetched belated returns.

Jose Mourinho’s rearguard takes on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Gameweek 9, followed by an Old Trafford meeting with Burnley and a trip to Swansea City.

In Decline

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Almost inevitably, Ibrahimovic suffers a further blow as he blanked for the third Gamweek in four and picked up a second successive yellow card.

That’s now just four points in four Gameweeks, during which time his price has dropped from 11.9 to 11.4, with more than 620,000 showing him the exit.

The Swede will dominate the transfers out column again heading into Gameweek 9, with Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku the major benefactors of the continued fall-out.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

1.6 itb 2FT, unsure what to do any help would be much appreciated...

    Foster
    Walker/Stones/Holebas
    Sanchez/Firmino/Son/Capoue
    Lukaku/Aguero/Deeney

    Jaku/Amat/De Roon/Williams

Capoue>Allen was my thought before the price rise tonight but otherwise I'm stumped

Triple Watford is risky. A way to get Walcott in before them playing Middlesborough could be nice but i cant see it.

Yeah have had triple Wat since their good run of fixtures started but as it comes to an end I need to offload some; can bring in wally for son but is that worth it or sideways?

Clyne owners, flag removed, which means instead of being on -96% and a small chance of dropping to 5.4 tonight despite good points (it's happened quite a lot before) I think he now resets to Zero and may even end the week 5.6.

I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure yellow to clear means reset to 0. Think red to clear means a lock.

I only just brought in Benteke before this week. Madness to sell straight away for Austin?

Wish I hadn't looked at Southampton's and just went with him to begin with.

Ask yourself who has the higher chance of points. Benteke at Leicester or Austin at City. The answer is A. Give him this week atleast. Don't use a precious transfer on such a sideways move

Austin is the best striker last 4 weeks SoT+goals. Man City can't keep a CS to save themselves. That said I'll probably bench if I get Allen

Back seven need a massive reshuffle but Ibra to Lukaku should be the priority right?

        Heaton, Pickford.
        Stones, Williams, Evans, Britos, Amat.
        Sánchez, Firmino, Walcott, Snodgrass, Fletcher.
        Agüero, Ibrahimović, Defoe.

        1FT; £0.0m ITB.

        Love you.

              Walcott sanchez couts firm payet

              Aguero Deeney diamande

Grav don't make a difference to me.i been on this site the year it started and It's all about timing. I give a lot more advice than what I ask ..somtimes I get great help. Sometimes they go unanswered. Don't take it personally. Keep your posts as short as possible and help as much as you ask for help.

Go to http://www.gravatar.com and get a grav as you are remembered better. I wouldn't not help somone who didn't have one but I remember the ones who help me and I make more effort with them etc

Seriously considering Ibra and Mane (have Firmino) to Lukaku and Sanchez (have Walcott). I think the double-up on Arsenal looks better than the double-up on Liverpool, particularly with Sanchez being the one I'm adding.

Does this make sense, or too knee-jerky (which I try like heck not to do)?

Yeah, I'm sure I'll sit on it for a few days, but today's performance was pretty disconcerting. He was lazy, his work rate was poor, etc. I'm sure he will come good again, but I can get him back in my side when/if that happens.

I'd avoid both tbh. Everton have actually been decent at the back but just concede that one goal.

Depends how much cash you wanna splash but I still think they are a good bet.

I've always been a fan of cheap defences and spending up top so I'm probably not the best to give advice on this 😆

It's the same as people wanting to ditch firmino before his haul vs Swansea. Only concerned about points players have gotten the previous week(s) rather than who's got more potential the next few weeks. I don't get it at all. Fair play to those who had Austin this week, but tables are very likely to turn the next few weeks with the tricky fixtures.

Walcott has both form and fixtures, he'd be a priority transfer in for those without. Allen i can see the reasoning too.

City has conceded four goals in the last three games not counting the three conceded against Celtic. Clearly not a difficult fixture for a good striker playing for a good attacking team.

Southampton are good attacking side, city and chelsea don't look that solid to me. Predict southamton to score in both. Austin in great form and involved in most goals.

Whether to do Sterling out Walcott in is difficult.
              1) Sterling great fixtures upcoming
              2) already have Sanchez
              3) Walcott could return to his usual frustrating walcot-ness in any gameweek

I think I will prob get Walcott and then sell Sanchez 4 kdb at some stage.

Anyone else you can sell for him?

The other options would be Sanchez/Firmino.
I decided to do it now anyway as I think walcott is worth the risk at the price as he is good value. Plus the guy who is second in my mini league behind me has got walcott in. So it is a bit of a safe option move.

Weak arguments. I've had Sanchez and Walcott for weeks and any player could hit a moment of bad form any gameweek: Sterling could go back to his last "Rodgers days", Aguero could get injured any moment, etc...etc...etc...

I'm considering the same transfer. Afraid of Sterling rotation too, especially with the CL.

Worth a hit? Will need to do it tonight

                Capoue + Evans -> Allen + Holebas?

                  Why not just Capoue>Allen?

Think gonna do Mcauley to Bellerin for a hit. Already got Clyne and Holebas so let's go full attacking defenders quota. Theo can wait
