Our first of this week’s members articles casts an eye over the increasing number of options in the mid-price midfield bracket.

After Joe Allen and Ilkay Gundogan were subject to major bandwagons in Gameweek 11, Hull’s Robert Snodgrass emerged from the bench to grab a goal and assist at home to Southampton, serving a reminder of his points potential ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

With the fitness of West Brom’s Nacer Chadli being keenly monitored prior to the weekend, we take a look at some of the key midfield protagonists priced at 6.5 and under in Fantasy Premier League.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I said a brace yesterday in jest, wonder if we get the meltdown to go with it 🙂

Just seen the goals, doesn't look like he's carrying an injury to me, turns and sprints well.

He will hurt United and their makeshift defence first.

I think your just being a bit optimistic cause you don't have sanchez.. I can't see any reason why arsenal won't score 2-3 goals this game.

Had Sanchez got rid for Hazard.

Also remember last season when Arsenal lost twice to a very underperforming Chelsea team? Mourinho knows how to beat Arsenal

Sure, he had Costa who ruffled the feathers of arsenal defenders, Mert getting a red card in the 18th minute and 2 reds in the game before.. if they do that again than you may be onto something!
United are without 2 key defenders and their main striker.. like I said before, I think your being optimistic here

Mouthing doesn't have the Chelsea squad with him at United and Sanchez put them to the sword last year.

Comparing Jose's team of Champions at Chelsea to these duds at United doesn't really add any weight to the argument 🙂

reply fail to F Society, saying Sanchez put United to the sword last year. That was at the Emirates.

Look, you can argue however you want to make your point, but at least make comparisons appropriately. Sanchez doing well against United at the Emirates is not the same thing as Sanchez doing well against United at OT. How many did he score when Arsenal lost 3-2 to them at OT?

Sanchez away record is stronger than his home record this year, I'm sure he won't be scared of that former fortress.

I'm sure Coutinho will be OK to play, they will be home in their beds by tonight and it's not like Southampton away is going to be easy.

I'm sure Brazil and Chile played a day earlier this break than the last one, that should help.

I don't think he's injured, he was available on the bench. He doesn't always start for Argentina, he and Messi have never truly clicked, it seems.

Argentina was 2-0 up inside 25 minutes, so there is no need to bring on a striker.

    GK: Heaton (Pickford)

DEF: Clyne, Kos, Williams (Friend, Amat)

MID: Sterling, Sanchez, Coutinho, Allen (Fletcher)

    FOR: Aguero Austin, Lukaku

I have 1 free transfer. Sanchez to Hazard? Sterling to Ozil and Kos to Mustaf? What transfers should I do?

I'm not really a fan of the Sanchez -> Hazard transfer.
Honestly, you're well set up this week. Save the transfer if you can.
I'd keep Koscielny - not a great fixture this week, but the next few weeks are promising.
Sterling is the only one that looks to be a bit out of favour on here. He could always score big, though. If anything, I'd transfer Sterling to a Liverpool mid.

      A. Just because Southampton have a gorgeous run of fixtures from gw14-24 or thereabouts. Barring injury, everyone will have Austin a few weeks from now. Getting Austin now means not having to worry about transferring him out until February.

If you do Alonso it will be a very expensive defense and things will have to change for you to profit. I would be concerned about your bench coming up to the festive season but a 4.5 to 5 mil defender will do. No Arsenal cover is a concern. but radical changes required to get what you want. Stick Wally on your watchlist or take a punt on him.

If no other pressing issue, I will do Capoue to De Roon? Yay or Nay? Bought him at 4.5 and desperate to get 0.2 out of him.

Or should I be worried about my defence: Kosielny, Stones, PVA (Amat, Holebas). If one of the 3 gets rested, I'm doomed. Amat to someone?

    1. Eze Really?
      • 11 Years

You are vulnerable at the back and moving Capoue is hard using a valuable tfr. AOA could be good for you but the slight rotation risk of Stones and PVA is dangerous in the long run. Holebas back will give you options. Save IMO.

You are obviously not an accountant.
            Capou PP 4.5 SP 4.7 = .2 profit
De Roon PP 4.3 in stock

Exact same situation as myself. I have no pressing issues and I can't guarantee I'll get a better opportunity to make the transfer and pocket the £0.4. Also had £0.0 ITB so it made sense for me to pull the trigger.

I never got any points from Capoue benching him in his golden weeks. At least want to get this 0.2 out of him.

Why is Holebas not on the captains poll for this GW?

Oh well, just more points for me 😎

Only the bench wankers will be captaining him.

Can anybody tell me who Chelsea rotate with?
Not interested in Kun so I am looking for 2 premium players to captain each week.

      Sunderland! 🙂

Though I think Spurs rotate very well at least for the foreseeable future. Considering Kun > Kane in a couple of weeks and rotate Haz/Kane for captain

    Heaton Pickford
    Alonso Evans Kelly Amat Holebas
Sanchez Firmino Hazard Allen De Roon
    Aguero Benteke Lukaku

Already on -4, good to go hopefully?

Sorry to point out but is Kelly playing? Have to ask since you have Amat and Holebas.

Yes he is, against City though.. taking my chances, surely better than taking another hit?

That's fine then. Don't take any more hit.

Knew I was doing Valencia to Brunt, held off as thought I had a bit of time as Valencia only 89% on fpl, with little movement over last few days. Dropped over night. Hate losing TV 🙁

Same! Feel bad for you mate 🙁 I was "forced" on doing sanch->haz to avoid drop. Don't feel that good about it. However, I had to get Haz in, and the other way would still leave me with 10 players, with a -4. With a -4 now, I can at least field 11 players

I was 'forced' into Sanchez to hazard, too! Ha. I need a - 8 just get 11 out this week, hence why I was holding off. Nightmare ha.

No playing subs this week. Still not worth it to take a hit to get someone in, is it?

    Heaton
    Lovren, Alonso, McAuley
    Coutinho, Haz, Sanchez, Allen, Gun
    Aguero, Lukaku

    Jaku, Holebas, Hernandez, Amat

    1. Eze Really?

No. ATM you have "minor doubts" on play time for Sanchez and Haz. Some game time could be limited but everyone is in the same boat.

Yeah, that -4 becomes a -2 in best case i think

I don't think you will have Gundo and Allen for the long haul but the rest are stayers in your side. Your subs must improve by xmas though.

Now that Sanchez can start the Man U game, where do I use my FT. 0.7 itb.

    Foster
    Koscielny, Stones, PVA
    Sanchez, Firmi-coutinho, Allen
    Kun (c), Kaku, Austin

    Subs: Pickford, Capoue, Amat, Holebas

I know defence is shaky but want to do Capoue to De Roon and pocket 0.2.
    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

I would have done the same myself. Defence looks alright for this gw, no need to sort that out now imo. Many have both Holebas and Smith here (inc. myself).

Looks set for this week. Id just save or if you have 2 FTs bank Capoues profity like you said.

Save. You know the danger of PVA and Stones rotation but as I said before Holebas back next week. Hazard will hurt you sometime though.

I have Alexis Haz Cout and Firmino with Capoue back up. This at the expense of Kun (I have Costa) Hard for you atm but I think Costa Haz is better than Kun Allen/Capoue. That is the direction I would take.
