Our first of this week’s members articles casts an eye over the increasing number of options in the mid-price midfield bracket.

After Joe Allen and Ilkay Gundogan were subject to major bandwagons in Gameweek 11, Hull’s Robert Snodgrass emerged from the bench to grab a goal and assist at home to Southampton, serving a reminder of his points potential ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

With the fitness of West Brom’s Nacer Chadli being keenly monitored prior to the weekend, we take a look at some of the key midfield protagonists priced at 6.5 and under in Fantasy Premier League.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Danny Rose comes off, 2 goals down our left. Creswell just not up to standard. Rashford needs to hold the ball up better too - needs to learn the role if he is to play up top.

cresswell is baines minus defending (which baines was hardly renowned for anyway)

        Very average player IMO.

On the other hand, Rose has developed into a very decent left back (hopefully not being too biased as a Spurs fan)

Getting the whole team to defend from the front and playing two out and out def mids takes a lot of pressure off the fbs, ie they don't have to defend as much therefore look better imo

All reports now are he is not injured why is he still flagged.

Did you miss the hot topic AB? Pretty deep philosophical debate about the merits of flags, the verification of sources before adding them and their effect on transfers in the game?

It was a pretty good discussion tbf, hopefully some good will come of it.

Anyway my point was how come hazard is still flagged when all reports are he is not injured now? Are unofficial reports ok to say someone is a doubt but not ok to say someone is fit?

FFS rushed a tweet out as soon as he was subbed
FPL acted on this and flagged him
Post match Martinez confirmed there was no injury

But once FPL flag someone it tends to stay there until something happens

Something did happen, multiple news sources are confirming he is not injured so why has his status not been updated?

This was the crux of my argument, newspapers and someone from opta visually watching someone wince as they come off are not reliable enough for flags and they are not reliable enough to remove flags. If official confirmation is required to remove a flag then it should be the same for adding flags

There are inconsistencies plain and simple we just have to get used to it.. From what i gather there was doubt over Hazard participation so he was flagged.. ok fair enough... by the same token there is doubt over Walcott as his missus is up the pole and he could be called away at any time including match day.. but no flag.. Not too bothered by it.. it is what it is really

We don't have to just put up with it though. FPL use the info on here for flags so mark has direct influence over them and if he can bring proper logic to bear and take this random rumour element out of the flag system I think the game would be better for everyone

Haha yeah I get that too tbh. I just hate opinion masquerading as fact anywhere, one of those things that really irk me.

Pure luck from Heaton this season. Good keeper but having the keeper facing the most shots in the league is generally not the best of strategies but his lucky cs are making him look a good option this season again.

I expect a long run of 2's and 3's at some point before a random 9-11ptr again.

I somewhat agree, but there's something to be said for the absurd amount of saves he has made. Much more likely he will get 3's and 4's instead of 2's or even 1's. Because his save count is so much higher it could make it profitable.

To get 3pts he will likely need at least 6 saves only conceding 2 goals. The average conversion of shots on target to goals is something closer to 40% iirc so that many shots on target will normally = 3 - 4 goals conceded so that it more likely to be a 1pt/2pt game max than 4pts.

Burnley do however defend very deep like wba so the shooter is generally under pressure so the keeper will have a better chance of saving. Wba have much better defenders a much better team so for me they are still the best bet for a gk.

I agree. I have Foster over Heaton as I always think WBA are a better option than Burnley. I keep getting proved wrong though and it's frustrating. Burnley and WBA have conceded the same amount of goals, but Burnley have conceded more shots on target. Hard to know what to do, but Heaton was a great pick last time Bur were in the PL. Saying that, I'll stick Foster with fixtures/I keep telling myself they are tighter regardless.

Should pay off long term imo. Wba have been seriously unlucky not to have at least a couple more cs in the bag so far and have had a poor fixture run. It could be tight enough between the two come the end of the season though

Need a defender for 4.7 or less (Smith out).

    A. Evans
    B. Pieters
    C. Dawson
    D. Other?

    Rest of defense:
    Foster (Pickford)
    PVA, McAuley, (Holebas!, Amat!)

It's quite aweful. I'm seriously considering a hit downgrading Benteke or Redmond to help make it better

This has been driving me mad.

Anybody know if this player even exists?

I have played in France and Italy
I have played in the English Championship on loan
I have won a league title
I have been sent off in a Champions League Match
I have played for a European Club during a World Cup
I have been capped over 10 times
I coach a lower league team in Europe.

Also during his career broke a bone and was out for 10 months is the next clue?

What should I do with 1FT??

    Bellerin / Cameron / Smith / Holebas / Amat

The phrase "how nailed" surely can't exist

Either you're nailed or you aren't surely? You can't be 50% nailed because then you aren't nailed at all

      Maybe I'm talking rubbish

With everybody fit and no suspensions, Nyom is cover at best. LB is surely going to be Brunt's position.

He is playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach so I don't expect him to score alot of points between now and January tbh .
