Frustrated by the international hiatus and with Granville tied up in political red tape, Jonty and Andy tag along as we go hunting for our Fantasy Football mojo.

Andy dons his Zlatan mask in celebration of a belated brace, as we talk flags – for far too long – tackling the lively break “Hazard controversy” head on.

Premium strikers, price drop bargains, Christmas shopping and the baby imminent table all earn oxygen, as we desperately attempt to brush away the ring-rust and look ahead to Gameweek 12.

Gentlemen, ladies, my team's a bit of a mess. My big hitters are helping me scrape by every week but the team needs serious surgery. (Apologies for the length of the post)

      Grant/Pickford
      Holebas/Stones/Lovren/Amat/Love
      Sanchez/Antonio/Firmino/Allen/Fletcher
      Costa/Aguero/Lukaku

1.2 in the bank. 1 free transfer.

I want Antonio out and Coutinho in, but the defence needs considerable surgery, especially given that Stones and Lovren are the only two likely to start this weekend.

      My thoughts are:
      1) Conservative option: Love > Evans this week so I have three starting defenders.
      2) Radical option 1: Sanchez/Antonio > Hazard/Coutinho, play all out attack, rebuild the defence long term (-4)
      3) Radical option 2: Antonio/Lovren > Coutinho/Kaboul, play all out attack, rebuild the defence long term (-4)

Any ideas? I would be eternally grateful.

What would you do with this defence:

Kosc Walker, Holebas (flagged), Kingsley, Amat(lost place)

So essentially I only have 3 active defenders this week and one of them is Kingsley away at Everton

    Thinking of:

    A) Holebas > McAuley (Burnley really poor in attack)
    B) Save (ride it out this week)

    Thoughts?

Just listening to the scoutcast (another good listen men) quick question, why does moving wide lessen the appeal/threat of Sanchez?

He's only played as the central striker this season, in the last two seasons he's scored 167 and 207 points from that wide position.

I'm guessing most owners would take 207 points for him from a wide position here and now.

    1. MrMaverick

Off course it's not Fitzy but they imply that his points potential will fall off a cliff which is clearly wrong.

I'm agreeing with you mate, was replying to Maverick's claim that he'll score less from out wide.

              Ah sorry Fitzy.

This is true Christina but I'm basing the guess over two seasons work of 38 games a season not 11 gameweeks this year.

One could be classed as slightly more of an educated guess.

Prob just thinking a 11m player that ain't OOP no longer is a lot less attractive. Might still score well, but sacrifices need to be made in our teams.

Perhaps but it makes no sense, the reason he was priced so high is because of the points he scored from the wide position.

I don't get it either. I have closely watched Arsenal over the last 4 weeks.

      Theo looks the better pick
      Theo has the better stats
      Theo has the points
      Theo is a lot cheaper

He was priced 11M at the start of the season judging by the output of the previous 2 seasons where he played the LW - nothing wrong with him playing wide.

Walcott if nailed is better value from Arsenal though. Regular Hazard (not last season Hazard) is better value from the same price bracket.

Over the last two years i remember that Sanchez played as a striker every time Giroud got injured, and that when playing in striker position he often got big scores. Beside trying to justify selling him, i think the point was that he gets more points playing as a striker (would be great if someone had those numbers).

I think you'll find that it was Welbeck who played there, Wenger tried Sanchez as a striker but didn't persist with it most notably when he pulled him off at half time against Everton in his first season.

Injury/Doubtful/Out of favour etc list is growing..
Holebas, Amat, Lallana, Sanchez, Whelan, Coutinho.
    What would you do here?

The prob is I want to keep them all in fairness for the weeks ahead..
Unless I go Chadli(doubtful)/Pedro- Lallana for a short term switch??
Pedro would mean a double swap with Austin- Deeney too probably.

    Pickford.
    Stones, Walker, Lovren.
    Sanchez, Coutinho, Lallana, Sterling.
    Lukaku, Deeney, Aguero.
    Heaton, G Whelan, Holebas, Amat.
    1ft, 0.0m.

Fletcher might be making a cameo alright for an amazing 1-3 point haul. Probably more likely one of your starters gets limited minutes.

I figure Fletcher at home to BUR....might not get better chances to fluke an assist and do a Boydinho...great 5th mid for this week!

Worst case scenario : Haz, Cout AND Wally all off after 60 mins...

      They're all viable
If you have no plans for a wildcard, play conservative this gw
and for goodness sake get rid of Antonio

          Benteke / Aguero (C) / Lukaku (v)

          Heaton / Redmond / Williams / Holebas

          0.3 in the bank
