Harry Kane has shown perfect timing.

On the day that saw Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku frustrate 40% of Fantasy Premier League managers, the Spurs striker stepped up to deliver a first double-figure haul and underline his undeniable potential as a game-changer.

Five goals in his last four Premier League starts, albeit broken up by a spell on the sidelines, indicates that Kane is riding a flow of form that can now see him break up the established template in attack.

A prolific Jermain Defoe and Charlie Austin’s improving fixtures will likely ensure that we retain a mid-price option as a third striker – dismissing the idea of squeezing Kane alongside our present heavy hitters.

That will put the heat on Aguero and Lukaku.

The latter went into Gameweek 12 having already seen his increase in ownership slow following his Stamford Bridge blank. Today’s 2-point return, with 11% backing him with the armband, will no doubt spark sales and, in all likelihood, a first decline in the Belgian’s ownership since Gameweek 3.

It’s difficult to gain confidence from Everton’s schedule.

A trip to a resilient Southampton follows for Gameweek 13, with Goodison Park encounters with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool to follow in the next four.

Lukaku is capable of scoring points in those matches, but can he keep pace with a resurgent Kane?

Despite those doubts, the pressure on Aguero is perhaps even more intense given his price tag, the doubt generated by Guardiola’s tinkering and the seemingly relentless stream of points being delivered by Kevin De Bruyne.

We were ready to fall at Aguero’s feet following his emphatic Hawthorns haul but, two Gameweeks on, the doubts are creeping back.

He let down 29% of FPL managers with the captaincy today and that, against the backdrop of Kane’s brace, will ruffle feathers.

The fee demanded by the Argentine guarantees that we will constantly be fidgeting – he almost has to deliver a goal a game and assure us of consistent returns in order to cement the captaincy and earn his keep.

Turf Moor offers a foreboding venue for Aguero to restore confidence next weekend. Following that, Guardiola’s side will take on Chelsea – Aguero will likely have to earn his opportunities against the Blues’ newly robust defence.

Meanwhile, Kane offers home fixtures with Swansea City, Hull City and Burnley to follow the Gameweek 13 trip to Stamford Bridge.

It’s a scenario that looks perfectly staged.

We bank our transfers, give Lukaku or Aguero next weekend’s run-out and then take action in Gameweek 14 should they falter.

Those trading Aguero can then distribute the significant funds spared – perhaps to consider De Bruyne as a reassuringly expensive midfield option.

Regardless of our current thinking – the masses will now be circling Kane.

With an ownership of just 6%, he provides a potential route back for those managers treading water – a genuinely explosive differential that can be trusted with the armband for that trio of tempting White Hart Lane fixtures.

Those trailing mini-leagues surely have to consider the move, but it’s an unwelcome development for those streaking ahead and settled with a midfield and forward line template. Kane can be a disruptive force that can punish those that sit still.

The bandwagon is moving, and if Costa is the next to slip off the suspension tightrope at the Riverside Stadium, we will need to brace ourselves for some major acceleration.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Morning DZ

    Heaton Pickford
    Alonso Koscielny Fuchs Holebas Amat
    Hazard Firmino Coutinho Redmond Fletcher
    Aguero Costa Austin

    0.2 ITB, 1 FT

Koscielny & Redmond To Cedric & Siggy sound decent ?
Other Ideas and suggestions also welcome.

    Heaton
    Clyne Amat Evans
    Firmino Gundogan Coutinho Arnoutavic
    Kane Lukaku Aguero

    1 FT & 0.0 ITB

    What should I consider next?

    C - Vertonghen out

I wouldn't save the FT with Arnie, Capoue and Allen.
With a bit you could potentially do Lukaku and Gundo out and uprgrade gundo . Capitalize on some good short term 2-3 fixtures for the player coming in , to ease the effects of the hit .

Austin s fixture list isn't all that bad to give you enough cash to play with gundo for a big hitter.

Or maybe Lukaku to Anichebe IF you want a 3-5-2 to get hazard in . Basically luk or kun need to go for hazard .
If kun blanks Vs Burnley next week, I've had it personally, just not enough points per game per million . No hate but seriously annoyed .

So what you're saying is do Lukaku > Austin this week and then the following week spend the spare 2.5m on a mid to upgrade Gundogan?

Try to get costa in for Lukaku or Aguero (if you have the balls to drop him like some here do).
Since you don't have Hazard , direct swap with Sanchez also looks okay since you have Walcott .

However capitalize on next week s Lpool and Arsenal home fixtures before removing Sanchez IMO .
Honestly you can save the transfer and asses options again next week and better use the 2FT together if need be.

^Brunt , Cedric , Pieters as he said
Lovren def comes into that list after yesterday .
Smith doesn't have fixtures but he attacks so much that he seems like popping up with an assist even in the tough games , have to monitor and see if he can replicate Bellerin with the odd clean sheet .

Saw a few games of Smith, should have had 2-3 more assists EASILY. He always overlaps and bmouth play on the attack .
Lack of quality finishers letting them down but if they go on a Boro esq run except in attack Vs the big teams and somehow bag 1-2 goals due to form , smith will be that guy who goes under the radar and suddenly plop up with an assist Vs say Man city and West ham (decent top clubs who leak) and he ll end up in the top 10 defenders after 7-9 weeks.
Guess it needs a bit of patience but with other defenders opening up now, smith needs an assist Vs a big club . If he gets that he will become Holebas 2.0 . Bmouth did get a CS yesterday so smith should have an extra 6 pts technically,

3-5-2 with that midfield looks killer in option 3 but is it really worth a -8 this week? Better to do a -4 and a -4 again next week.

1 and 2 look good too to capitalize on some good fixtures for Lpool and Spurs.
Maybe don't do 1 before Aguero faces Burnley and Kane faces Chelsea .
      2 depending on Defoe s next 3-4 fixtures .

4 sounds boring since idk which mid under 6.6 you can really trust . 3-5-2 with that midfield , seems highly consistent . Even I'm on a 3-5-2 and I think it should work . Strikers just aren't giving enough points per game per million.

Thanks for many great comments! 🙂 It's really tempting to do 3 when Liverpool faces Sunderland and Swansea faces Palace, but maybe I should wait with Gylfi? B. Sub Chadli in for Gundogan (WBA playing Hull next but sub to Siggy after GW13) [-4]
    C. Sub Anichebe for Stuani (likely to do this move eventually to free up funds from Stuani and Anichebe is more likely to start as compared to Stuani) [-4]

Def not C for now...unless you want the price rises , there ain't going to be another anichebe at 4.5 for sure in quite a while though. Still maybe doesn't exactly justify a hit if you're in the top100 k or so.

    Foster
    Alonso, Fuchs, Holebas
    Hazard, Coutinho (c), Firmino, Capoue

What to do here? Not sure whether to save the FT or do Allen + Benteke -> 4.3 + Kane (-4)?

    Foster
    Kosc - Fuchs - Holebas
    Walcott - Redmond - Coutinho - Firmino
    Aguero - Lukaku - Benteke

    Jaku - Stones - Amat - Allen

    1FT, 2.6 ITB

Take that hit with bench fodder - Kane will more than pay-off the -4 over the next 3

Cheers.. Yeah does a good transfer. Only problem is I'm still clinging onto the thought that Benteke will start scoring soon.. Has 3 decent fixtures next too but Kane's price could rocket in that time.

      Like the hit.
Looks good , Kane s price will rise plus the 3 home games is too good to pass up if you have the means.

Currently i have no Arsenal coverage. Next GW i will do Aguero to Kane leaving me with no City coverage. Is that a big mistake going forward?

      I think so

How would you improve this team?

    Pick Jaku
    Walker Williams Holebas Evans Amat
    Sanchez Hazard Firmino Siggy Fletcher
    Kun Lukaku Austin

    2 FT 0.1 ITB

Thinking of Lukaku + Fletcher ---> Anichebe + Coutinho.

Looks okay! Not too much to improve , maybe try getting Alonso plus Walker into that defence if possible after 2-3 weeks and swap Williams .

Spurs plus Chelsea defence looks solid coverage for Christmas , depending on whether Walker gets rotated on not .

    Heaton
    Clyne Amat Evans
    Firmino Capoue Coutinho Arnoutavic
    Kane Lukaku Aguero

    Pickford Gundogan Pieters Vertonghen

    1 FT & 0.0 ITB

    Should I:-

    A Lukaku > Austin & BB
    B Gundogan > Snodgrass & BB
    C Save FT & BB
    D Save FT & don't BB

    Not FPL related

Are Leicester a spent force in EPL? Its not like they're suffering bcos of a bad run of fixtures. Was Kante so vital to them? Or has the magic spark just disappeared

Kante is the reason why Leicester the league. So underrated! Just look at what he is doing at Chelsea

Yeah, they look poor this season. Mendy will make a difference when fit, but the team balance just isn't there

Seems like Kante was very crucial but still can't put it all on him.
Mahrez hasn't been hitting quite as many shots on target let alone scoring and Vardy has been a shadow of himself .
Even if they can keep clean sheets , the goals have also vanished .
I guess last year , they used their existing superb morale in the second half of the season to propel them to the title but they can't start a season and challenge for the top four on their own.

Vardy goal scoring streak also def inspired the whole team to play better atleast for his sake and use that to make the team play well last season. This season they look unmotivated .
