Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ruled out of United’s trip to Palace with a short-term ankle problem. Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi is sidelined due to a hamstring injury, whilst Emre Can is still doubtful for Liverpool’s trip to the Riverside.

Shkodran Mustafi is out for three weeks with the hamstring problem that forced him off during Arsenal’s weekend win over Stoke. Aaron Ramsey remains sidelined with a similar complaint for this evening’s trip to Everton.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is ruled out of United’s trip to Palace with an ankle problem, though Jose Mourinho expects the Armenian international’s absence to be short term. Antonio Valencia is suspended after falling off the Suspension Tightrope with his fifth yellow of the season against Spurs.

Emre Can remains a doubt for Liverpool’s trip to Middlesbrough, though is expected to return in time for next week’s Merseyside derby with Everton at the latest. Jurgen Klopp remains uncertain as to whether Dejan Lovren is available, after the defender was forced off with cramp against West Ham on Sunday.

Junior Stanislas and Andrew Surman will remain unavailable for Bournemouth’s clash with Leicester, Eddie Howe conceded yesterday.

Craig Dawson is suspended for West Brom’s home clash with Swansea after earning a fifth caution of the season during Sunday’s loss at Chelsea.

Marc Muniesa and Glen Johnson are rated as slight doubts for Stoke’s clash with Southampton. Jon Walters and Ryan Shawcross are back in training, with the former more likely to be available.

Charlie Austin is set to stay on the sidelines for around three-to-four months with shoulder ligament damage sustained on Europa League duties last Thursday.

Younes Kaboul is back in training and will be assessed ahead of Watford’s trip to Man City. Valon Behrami is a slight doubt due to illness, though Roberto Pereyra is available, having served a one-match suspension.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Although the usual strategy is to use the chips in double gameweeks (last season it destroyed me when I triple captained Caroll in the last double gameweek) this time I am seriously thinking to triple captain Harry Kane. I expect at least a double from him to be honest. Need to think more about it. Thoughts?

I triple captained Aguero last week in the DGW, it's definitely the way forward but only for the elite players I think. Kane tonight would be one of the best options outside of a DGW though to be fair but you may rue it for the rest of the season if it backfires.

Thank you for all your input. Appreciate it.

Now as far as Dembele is concerned, I support Spurs, I love Dembele but Winks is not bad at all and can be a good enough replacement for him for a few matches if needed. Although in my opinion the very best option is to start with Dier and Winks at CM instead of Wanyama and Winks. Dier is very good at distributing the ball and has an understanding of field play. Dembele missing should not be such a big problem against Hull

I triple captained Aguero last season on a single week. He scored a brace and missed a penalty so it was oh so close to a great result. Statistically two chances are better than one though.....i'd hold for the DGWs later on. If Kane and Spurs were in superb form i'd be seriously tempted. Costa could easily equal or surpass Kane this GW i think. Still split which one to go for....

Ibrahimovic could be a great captain diff this gw against a very leaky Palace i still fancy Kane to score but i will not be surprised if Zlatan gets a big haul also

Has anyone got the balls to give Ibrahimovic the armband?

    1. InvertedWinger
      • 10 Years

If you own him and Kane means you likely don't own Costa which means your chasing which means you could do with a big differential which means you should likely go Ibra for captain.

    My current team is:

    Grant (Pickford)
Walker - Alonso - Lovren (Holebas - Amat)
Hazard - Firmino - Walcott - Siggy (Allen)
    Kane (C) - Costa - Iheanacho

    1FT - 2.4ITB

    What should I do?

Looking for a replacement for Stones (4.9), who will start most games over the Xmas period.
How about Pieters (4.5), as a squad player?
Already have Holebas, Amat as cheap defenders.

    1. Ruth_NZ
      • 11 Years

He's the kind of player that could, he specialises in opportunistic goals from snap shots and half chances. Doesn't need a "big chance" created.

Chelsea are very well organised but Defoe can always nick one.
