Fantasy managers are treated to the remaining eight matches of Gameweek 16 this Wednesday evening, with a trio of
encounters getting underway at 7.45pm.

Sadio Mane and Divock Origi are the form men as Liverpool look for a first win in three at the Riverside. Roberto Firmino arrives on the back of four straight blanks and was second only to Charlie Austin for transfers out in the Gameweek.

With Eden Hazard absent, the stage is set for Diego Costa as Chelsea visit Sunderland. The Blues frontman was the most captained player in Fantasy Premier League for Gameweek 16, with 23% handing him the armband.

West Ham embark on the first of three very favourable fixtures, with Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio on our radars for the visit of Burnley.

In the 8pm matches, all eyes will be on Captain Poll winner Harry Kane as Spurs welcome Hull to White Hart Lane. We’ll also be monitoring Scout Picks duo Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen against the struggling Tigers.

In-form pair Christian Benteke and Zlatan Ibrahimovic go head-to-head as Palace welcome United to Selhurst Park. With returns in six of the last seven, Wilfried Zaha was the most transferred in player for Gameweek 16.

With Sergio Aguero suspended, faith in Man City has dwindled ahead of what should be a plum home clash against Watford. Kevin De Bruyne is the man most likely as the Etihad side look to recover from back-to-back defeats.

We’re also keeping a keen eye on Differential Sofiane Boufal as Southampton head to Stoke. Having bagged the winner at home to ‘Boro, the Moroccan could be set to step up in the absence of Charlie Austin, promoting his prospects as a mid-price midfield candidate ahead of some fine fixtures.

West Brom have their work cut out to stop Gylfi Sigurdsson as Swansea make their way to the Hawthorns.

The Swans’ playmaker has racked up four goals and as many assists in eight appearances under Bob Bradley and faces a defence with one clean sheet in the last 12 Gameweeks.

Matt Phillips and Salomon Rondon also have the chance to maintain momentum tonight – Swansea have conceded 12 goals in four road trips since their new manager was installed.

Although I dodged the Kane bullet this week I am still happy enough to go without him for the rest of the season.

Need it all to go through Eriksen and Co again

I think it is too early to write of a player who got 25 goals last season to be honest. I agree that he hasn't been looking very sharp lately, but I had the same feeling last year. Somehow he seems to get goals.

But perhaps there is something the infamous Dembele-theory.

What to make of this lot for the weekend?

    Grant
    Walker McAuley Alonso
    Siggy Eriksen(c) Firmino Hazard Sanchez
    Costa Origi

    Pickford Anichebe Lovren Kingsley

    Thinking of sticking.

Would love some thoughts on this...think it's gonna be good for 10-15 gameweeks:

    Forster (Grant)
Alonso Clyne Van Dijk Vertonghen (Amat)
    Sanchez Hazard Sigurdsson Lallana (Phillips)
    Costa Kane (Diomande)
    0.0 in the bank

Ha-ha good joke! there's no such thing as "good for 10-15" gwks, I'll guarantee you that come Jan first week you'll be tearing your hair out thinking about how to deal with Kun's hattrick, Ibras towering ownership, van Dijk's move to City, etc.

Team looks good for this weekend though 🙂 Clyne to Valencia for utd cover and Forster to Heaton if you need the cash (rotates okay with Grant in the short term)

      1. ★Kuntheman★
        • 10 Years

Wouldn't really mind Van Dijk moving anywhere (as long as it's a step up) in the PL. Aguero may pose an issue but that's easily solvable with a downgrade in the defense.

Fixture-wise this should be good for a while

Is this the right bench order?

    de Roon (swa)
    Brunt (MUN)
    Amat (mid)

They all might end up playing anyway with Hazard, Cedric and Nacho in my team.
Not tempted to get rid of Nacho for Origi, but might be tempted by Carroll or Negredo for a hit.

No Mins Nacho to Big Andy (-4)?
The more that I think about it the more I'm tempted to punt!

    Pros:
He is getting back to fitness and played 80 odd minutes last night.
He plays Hull next (his frame should be a nightmare for them). To be fair when fit, he scores goals!
My bench is not strong atm (so Amat would be in for Nacho if he doesn't play)
Make 0.1m on Nacho and frees up 0.6m in funds.

    Cons:
    It's for a hit.
Big Andy is still a bit rusty.
City play Hull in the next fix GW18 so might be worth holding Nacho for that game.

Thoughts guys? Yay/Nay? (and will Nacho drop tomorrow?) Cheers.

I lost patience with Firmino last week and brought in Payet and I already had Siggy. I'm holding Walcott (as I don't have Sanchez) as upcoming fix looking great
Not ideal holding Firm but I'd bring in Siggy for Walcott in your case I think.

Like the Carroll punt, but not sure I would have sold McAuley. I like their fixtures 20-27 (bar 21) and McAuley is even a decent defender to play in difficult match-ups, as Pulis (of old at least) will seek to get something from set pieces.

Jones could be gold short term though.

Yup I noticed that when looking through my gameweek history, these are my GWRs when I've used two transfers or more:

        1,091,582
        234,146
        187,514
        941,958
        36,699

So that's an average of 518,380 compared to 1,187,829 when only using 1 transfer or less...

Looked at mine too, no pattern between ranks when I've taken a hit or not.
Generally been getting it together over the last 7 weeks but have had excellant GWR the two weeks I've taken a hit which balances against the awful ones at the beginning of the season.

In short, I'm none the wiser. 🙂

A lot of big hitters have blanked a bit recently and a few casual picks doing well. A ghost team (untouched since gw1) in one of my leagues just scored 77 and only fielded 9 players, for example.

Losing my patience with Firmino but can't see any obvious long term replacements. Eriksen obviously was the one to get, but last week rather than this week imo - BUR is his only good fixture for a while now.

    Pickford Jaku
    Alonso Lovren Evans Holebas Amat
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Siggy Fletcher
    Kane Costa Iheanacho

    1 FT, 1.2 in bank

Middle 3 defenders are possible issues along with Hazard and Iheanacho.

What's your thoughts on Nacho TM? Why did'nt he get any minutes, surely he won't start against Arsenal?
I think I will replace him for a hit (see my post above).

It's a right pain! If I knew that he would get minutes and play against Hull GW18, holding would be a no brainer. I think no city is the way to go for now!
I brought in Toby A. last week, so with him alongside Alonso happy enough in Defence for now.
