After Jay Rodriguez guided Southampton to a 3-1 win at the Vitality, we’re treated to a couple of 4pm encounters that may well have a significant impact on the Fantasy Premier League standings.

Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen are heavily backed to get the better of Burnley at the Lane.

The in-form pair have each scored twice in two of their last three home appearances, earning first and third place in our Gameweek 17 Captain Poll respectively.

Frustratingly, our Scout Pick Toby Alderweireld misses out with a minor back problem, though we’ll have an eye on Spot the Differential candidate Danny Rose against a Clarets outfit with a single goal to their name on the road so far.

Man City and Arsenal square up at the Etihad in the other match.

Alexis Sanchez seeks a fifth double-figure away haul against a City defence that’s been far from convincing, with just three clean sheets to their name so far.

With the Gunners now poised for some excellent upcoming fixtures, a big performance from Theo Walcott could persuade some Sanchez owners he is worth a double-up option.

Sergio Aguero remains suspended for City, with Pep Guardiola once again benching the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and John Stones.

Kevin De Bruyne is the man most likely for the home side, though the Belgian’s run of 10 league appearances without a goal has left him on the Fantasy periphery.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Maybe leave it Southampton / Spurs is what is making it seem worse that it is. Cedric fixtures similar to Valencia was thinking that move too but not taking a hit for it.
Do Kane to Costa next week and see what you think about Eriksen then.

Wait for Coutinho to get fit before ditching Eriksen, keep Kane for this week and then ditch for Costa next GW.

Team needs some surgery, open to taking a hit or two.

    Pickford / Marshall
    Alonso / Vertonghen / Holebas / Evans / Amat
    Sanchez / Hazard / Sigurdsson / Phillips / Fletcher
    Kane / Costa / Wilson
    1.2 ITB, 1 FT

Kane needs to go, Wilson probably does too. Swansea looked shocking yesterday and I'm not keen at all on playing 2 WBA attackers next week with Costa out...

Will Arsenal fans call Sanchez a traitor if he swapped Arsenal for City ?

I mean Pep would be licking his lips if he had Alexis as false9.

Would be massively frustrating, but it wouldn't make him a traitor. He came to the club as a top player, and hasn't been here long enough.

Anyone else in a freefall since Aguero and Coutinho went out?

My rank has more than doubled, seems I'm not doing very well finding replacements/redistributing those funds. Having those two as anchors was more valuable than I realized.

      I'm in freefall since GW8 😀 10K ➡ 200+K and falling
I often think that Aguero lets you play this game in 'easy' mode, whithout him it's more fun, but it's tougher.

      1. tm245
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 7 months ago

        Ouch.

I wasn't even autocaptaining Aguero, but I think having him cemented in my team gives me the right balance of security and risk in how I play the game.

Agreed that it is harder without him, definitely exposing my rash approach.

We play this game, yes game, for enjoyment but i'm having the worse season in 10 years..currently 350k.
Whilst I know you have good and bad weeks this weekend and the midweek games have really annoyed me. With the wife and child away and team looking good on paper I watched more football than normal and was looking forward to the points rolling in.
    Gutted.

Bring on xmas and we go again.

Mixed opinion this season. I've enjoyed it but there is a lot that ruins it for me

The flag system, the stupid amount of rises ( probably related) and fpl inconsistency.

      1. mir
        • 16 Years
        9 years, 7 months ago

The rises I think are purely down to volume of players. Now 4 million I'm. Sure it was 1.6 when I started playing.

Silva was offside and went for the ball, but didn't touch it or block the keepers view. I might have argued he was interfering if I hadn't seen Cech concede the same near post goal over and over again.

That is distorting reality. They were poor because of their performance, nothing else.

And regarding the ref it was a controversial offside call, but the second goal was defo a good goal. Arsenal's previous luck with refs are running out. But most importantly they have bern playing poorly.
