Gameweek 17 delivers one last match for Fantasy managers as Everton entertain Liverpool in the first Merseyside derby of the season.

Adam Lallana arrives at Goodison as the most sought-after target in Fantasy Premier League last week – over 290,000 drafted him in on the back of a 19-point haul at Middlesbrough.

Divock Origi was the number one forward for transfers in ahead of Gameweek 17 – the Liverpool frontman has recovered from a knock and is looking to score for the fifth successive Gameweek.

In terms of FPL captains, Romelu Lukaku and Sadio Mane are the two most popular picks for tonight’s match.

The big Belgian has struggled for form, though, failing to earn points in five of his previous six league outings.

Although he’s flourished at Anfield, Mane has disappointed on the road, serving up six blanks in eight road trips.

Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino – the third most transferred out ahead of Gameweek 17 – will be looking to stop the fire sale and end a run of five straight blanks against a defence with just a single clean sheet in 12 attempts.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Related to my last post, did anyone get a look at Origi yesterday enough to suggest he's at least nailed for a few more games?

I just get the feeling that this is the most important week of transfers for me so far this season.

Alderweireld is a doubt right now, Costa serves a single-game ban, I grow tired of Kane who SHOULD have been perfect captain material recently, Origi has Sturridge sniffing around him and it is around GW18 that I said I need Arsenal coverage. I also have Mane off to the ACON but that is in the new year.

I have 2 FTs this week and my current team is as follows...

    Pickford
    Alderweireld / Alonso / Amat
    Hazard / Mane / Eriksen / Sigurdsson / Fletcher
    Kane / Origi

BENCH: Foster / Costa / Kone / Pieters

    I have 0.0 in bank.

    Anyone see some good transfers?

Good morning all! Im kinda worried that Costa's suspension will ruin my next gw. My current team is

    Pickfor
    Alonso-Vertonghen-Cedric-Zuniga
    Haz-Siggy-Wally-Lallana
    Origi-Ibra

    Subs: Jaku-Fletcher-Kingsley-Costa

I got 0.8itb and already used my ft to get Ibra in for Kane. Do you guys think im gtg or should i tak a hit and make some changes?

Ya I think I finally need to sort them out. Payet seems the natural one to downgrade to fund either transfer. I was hoping to use these funds for Kun though. Always seem to find myself changing elsewhere and Dio/Cap remain stinking up my team lol

Ref mistakes are part of the game. Once you go down the route of hindsight with video footage I think the game suffers

        2. Pasqualinho
          • 16 Years
          9 years, 2 months ago

Can of worms, that one. It's basically a higher power telling a referee he was wrong - which to a certain extent is ok, because we want referees to be more accountable for their mistakes. But it's not a direction the lawmakers tend to go with. To absolve a ref from blame because he didn't see it is always a safe option.

If there are exceptional circumstances the player can still be punished (see Ben Thatcher on Pedro Mendes c. 2006)

Also the McManaman/Haidara incident a few years ago prompted a rule change so that retrospective action can be taken against a player even if the officials saw the incident.

Broadly speaking you're right though: yellow card in game = no retrospective action.

Jones might be short term as the Lindelof deal is looking close - depending on whether Jones takes the other spot in Bailly's absence of course. Either way it's looking like a transfer out in 2 to 5 weeks.

    I already have Alonso.

Considering one of these 2 transfers

    A) AZPI
    Pro's:
    - Plays Bournemouth next
    - Rising in price might gain a little by WC time.
    - solid defence
    - bonus magnet
    Con's:
    - I have Alonso
    - 6.4m tied up when Aguero on way back and Ibra and Costa performing well.
    - means I'll have no room to get Hazard AND Costa back in

    B) ROSE
    Pro's
    - Fixtures look ok coming up
    - on form
    - 0.5m cheaper than Azpi
    - spreads risk

    Con's
    - not keeping as many clean sheets as Chelsea
    - flagged with a knock

Anything else to consider between these 2 heavy hitters? Which would you go for and why?

Arsenal fixtures look great but are they fools gold? Are there a lot of rotation risks within the team or do we feel Sanchez and Ozil are critical for Arsenal over the next 5 GWs

they surely need to bounce back after consecutive defeats.

fixtures couldnt be any better. expect them to put the weaker teams to the sword
