With the Spurs assets delivering in the early kick-off, we move our attention to six more encounters to seek out further returns.

Arsenal’s trip to Swansea City undoubtedly provides the key interest, with more than 700,000 (16.5%) FPL managers turning to Alexis Sanchez as their Gameweek 21 captain.

With Olivier Giroud earning more than 350,000 transfers ahead of today’s deadline, it’s fair to say that Fantasy managers will be willing Arsenal to follow Spurs’ lead and produce goals and points aplenty.

Paul Clement’s first home game in charge provides an unwanted x-factor, however. It remains to be seen if he can lift a Swans side that has shipped 23 goals at the Liberty Stadium, the worst home record in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe is heavily backed ahead of a home encounter with Stoke City. Brought in by 266,000 FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 21, more than any other FPL forward, Defoe has returned a goal or an assist in five of his last six Stadium of Light encounters.

Meanwhile, at the KCOM Stadium, a host of mid-price and budget assets go head to head with our focus on the likes of Robert Snodgrass, Junior Stanislas and Charlie Daniels.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Go Brunt and save the cash. Him and Baines have the fixtures now, and Rose is 2 YCs from a 2 game ban. Wait till you have the funds for Walker, or till Rose is back from the (almost) inevitable ban. I'm not an oracle though. Do what you want. haha

to ditch costa for kane tonight due to price change despite not knowing what is actually going on?
seems very knee jerk to me.. but not much choice with the many trfs taking place causing the price rise

was thinking to wait cause spurs meet city next and kane will probably be muted again
or is there other better choice instead of kane?

What would everyone think about an increase in the number of free transfers you can hold to 5, about 1/3 of a team? It doesn't seem fair to punish people who hold their frees.

Isn't it amazing how the little things have a big impact.

I went 352 during the week and penny pinching I decided to go for Barnes over Crouch. Crouch had better returns lately, but I thought 3rd striker is only gonna be bench fodder, so why spend more?

And then the Costa thing happened and didn't fancy playing Barnes and went Costa > Giroud for -8. And then even captained Giroud, maybe as a crazy way to justify the extra hit, would have just stuck to Alexis if no Giroud.

Its interesting because I read Jay's interview earlier, about trying to avoid hits and going with the flow of what the game presents you with. So playing Crouch would have saved me 4 points on the hit and Crouch actually out scored Giroud too and Sanchez would still have been captain...

I followed the advice and avoided doing a hit to bring in Stanislas. Antonio was going to be the one to go. Obviously got lucky, but I'm leaning more and more to fewer hits and just rolling with it. Got burned bun Firmino and Hazard earlier on in the season by being impatient with them. Patience really is key this season I feel.

There's never a right time to take hits or not to take hits. Its just what happens on the day with your players.

  20. NIGHTHIKER - I Kane, I Shaw…

Interesting day FPL wise for me - sold Kane and Eriksen 2 weeks ago for Aguero and Phillips, and safe to say I was raging after that lunch time kick off. Decided I was too annoyed to follow the 3pm games, so went for a walk for a couple of hours.. and returned to find my Spurs-less team on a nice score of 48, with 9 bps to come as it stands. Not amazing, but after the Kane show earlier I was really fearing a huge tumble down the rankings. Hopefully into the top 1k now!
