We make out way to Goodison Park for the first of Sunday’s two matches as Everton entertain Manchester City.

With the Toffees on the cusp of an excellent run of fixtures from Gameweek 22 onwards, this afternoon’s encounter allows us the chance to scout the potential of the likes of Leighton Baines and Romelu Lukaku.

Second only to Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso for points per match amongst defenders, Baines has reclaimed penalty duties from Lukaku and has served up two goals, a pair of assists and a couple of clean sheets in his last seven outings.

Lukaku, meanwhile, has upped his output in recent matches, with four goals and an assist in six. A convincing display against City could see his 24% Fantasy Premier League ownership on the rise, particularly if Diego Costa and Olivier Giroud fail to recover from injury in time for next weekend.

Sergio Aguero rolls up to Merseyside having netted twice in four of his seven away appearances.

Yet it’s a sign of his erratic displays under Pep Guardiola that only 9% of FPL managers have handed the City striker the armband.

Nonetheless, that still makes Aguero the fourth most captained player for Gameweek 21 and, having scored in both matches since returning from suspension, his 22% owners will be optimistic he can maintain that momentum.

Ronaldo Koeman’s men have been no pushovers in front of their own fans, though, conceding just seven times – only Spurs and Chelsea boast better defensive home records.

I would love to get your opinions on my plan:

Before GW22: Holebas --> Baines or Coleman
    Before GW23: Lallana --> Eriksen

    Rest of the team:

    Grant - Foster
    Azp - Jones - Cedric - Holebas* - Amat
    Sanchez - Alli - Lallana* - Phillips - Stanislas
    Ibra - Lukaku - Rondon

    What do you guys think?

Teams usually protect young players from media duty. Surprised to see Davies and lookman getting interviewed alone. Davies said Lukaku is claiming that goal lol

As if it makes any difference whether Lukaku "claims" the goal. Not really up to him is it?

It's not no, but he doesn't seem the type to claim it if he didn't touch (no matter how minute)

Nice one, but how would Schneiderlin fit in that line up being a defensive mid instead of an attacking one?

      1. diesel001
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

A Spurs team would give Everton a tougher game so think Schneiderlin offers better defensive cover. I don't mind Barkley against Swansea etc. But against Chelsea, Spurs, Utd I think you need the cover.

        1. Pariße
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

Yeah, but it's not like the line-up with Barkley is attacking anyway. You have 3 CBs, 2 wingbacks and 2 defensive mids, you'd be left 2 with attacking players if even Barkley was replaced with another defensive mid.

Silva and KDB have been pissing me off for weeks, running into the same spaces and getting in each other's way. Pep's gotta bench Silva and play Sane.

    1. Venom Snake
      • 12 Years

KDB has to play in the middle. None of this winger nonsense

Sane and Sterling on the flanks with Kun up top.

      Fernandinho and Yaya holding.

I know I may be biased but I really can't see anything other than a Utd win today.

They have the form, Liverpool not doing too well of late and missing Clyne, Matip, Mane and Coutinho only on the bench.

Come on Ibra, bring me a nice return 🙂
