The day’s events continue at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal and Burnley provide the backdrop to Alexis Sanchez’ latest attempt to build on his stock as a Fantasy Premier League “essential”.

The Chilean starts this match backed by 18.2% of FPL managers, with 52 of the top 100 also endorsing the Gunners man for another return.

It’s easy to justify such a show of faith: Sanchez has returned a goal or an assist in eight of his last nine Gameweeks, with eight goals, four assists and nine bonus points collected over that period.

In addition, he faces a Burnley side that has the worst away record in the Premier League, winning only one of 26 so far on their travels.

Sanchez also boasts an enviable record against the Clarets. He has scored three and assisted twice in his two previous outings in all competitions against Sean Dyche’s men at the Emirates.

Olivier Giroud adds to the Gunners threat. The Frenchman has scored in each of his last four Gameweeks and leads Arsene Wenger’s attack once again, having shaken off a toe injury.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If you're struggling to see why that was a red, switch the two players involved and it looks a bad challenge.

Two footed out of control is a red. Pap rule at times but is a red the same.
The lad likes a weekend off in fairness. Nine reds in under three years

Poor challenge and yes I know he gives the ref the opportunity to send him off but did that challenge warrant a red card?

2 feet off the ground. If a Burnley or Stoke midfielder does that to Xhaka then the same people denying its a bad challenge call for a red

The two feet of the ground is a long way out though. He then only slides into contact with foot on the ground. Surely a let off in such case?

Well, a. He didn't kick the ball, he kicked the man, and b. The action performed is a red card regardless of connection

I understand your point about the rules. But there always has to be a judgment call where the ref has to decide whether it was dangerous. For example of Xhaka jumps 5 metres out same style and the opponent is long gone past, does the 'dangerous' nature of the 'tackle' still get a RC?

Nobody goes 40mph on a motorway unless they're in traffic or mid-accident. Are you suggesting people who think that's a red are the same kind of people who use busy motorways or have accidents on them?
